Chapter 23

--- Alex's POV ---

Addy was dancing with Jack and they looked really happy so I didn't want to cut in just yet, I'd wait until the next song at least. We'd been having a really good time but I found myself glaring at any boy who even looked in Addy's direction. I didn't want her to go off with one of them and leave me, it sounded selfish but I couldn't help it but feel protective over her.

'Not dancing with Addy then?' Rian appeared at my side

'Thought I'd let Jack have her for a while she's his date too' I said

'You really like her' he said bluntly

'Yeah' I sighed 'Yeah I really do'

'Well do something about it she won't wait around forever' he told me

'I'm thinking of doing something over Christmas' I bit my lip nervously

'Like what?' he suddenly got interested

'Just telling her how I feel I don't even know' I groaned

'You'll figure it out man I'm sure' he patted my shoulder

'Hey baby I'm back' Kara came over

'I see you are' Rian kissed her

'Ew go away with your cuteness' I grimaced

'See you later' Rian laughed as they disappeared into the depths of the gym

They were the perfect couple but sometimes they just made me want to vomit. And she had such a hold over him it would get annoying, she always dragged him away from us. But he was happy so we accepted it. I saw Jack signalling to me over Addy's shoulder so I went to see what he wanted.

'She's all yours now I've had more than my fair share' he laughed

'Thanks Jacky' I laughed as I took Addy's hand

'Look after my date' he warned jokingly

'I will' I reassured him

'Hey Jack go talk to Jodine she's on her own' Addy said looking over to where the girl was sitting on a bench alone

'Maybe I will' he smiled to himself as he walked off

'Can I have this dance?' I looked down at Addy

'You most certainly can' she smiled

I wrapped my arms around her waist and hers went around my neck. Neither of us were big dancers so we just twirled on the spot a bit but it was nice to have her in my arms.

'Are you having fun?' I asked

'Yeah it's really nice despite the bitchy looks from Jade's friends' she said

'They're just jealous' I smiled

'Sure they are' she looked down

'Hey' I leaned my forehead against her making her look at me 'They really are jealous so stop worrying'

'Okay' a small smile crept onto her face 

'That's my girl' I grinned

'We're terrible dancers' she said as I stepped on her foot

'The absolute worst' I agreed

'Jack was surprisingly good but I kept standing on his foot' she giggled

'Yeah I guess that term of dance lessons when he was five payed off' I laughed

'Bless him' she smiled fondly 'I hope he talks to Jodine she seems really nice'
