The city lights shone bright and your fingers were intertwined with his, as you followed him into the night. This was crazy, so unlike you. At this late hour you were usually in bed, reading a book or listening to music. But ever since he had entered your life, those calm nights and your uneventful daily life were long forgotten. They had faded into memories of a life before him. Now your every wakening moment was thrilling and exciting because it contained him, all of him. It were nights like these, when he suddenly showed up at your window and told you he wanted to show you something. In the beginning you had hesitated a lot, though you had never been able to resist him. He would give you that look, that look that promised the whole world to you, that made you trust him and take his hand.
His worn out oversized leather jacket over your shoulders and a red nose from the cold, you roamed the busy streets with him, your soft laughter filling the night air. When you were together, you were always laughing. He was your getaway, your personal paradise to which you escaped. Around him you could let loose and breathe. The greatest thing he had yet taught you was to be careless, to live in the moment, to love with no regret. He held your hand tightly as you crossed the street, looking at you and smiling that gummy smile of his. Automatically smiling back, you tightened your grip on his hand.
"(Y/N) you have become quite the rebel" he remarked, pulling down your beanie so that it covered your eyes.
"I am learning from the best" you responded, adjusting your beanie and grinning at him cheekily.
"I have been looking for that beanie over a week now" he chuckled.
"Weren't you the one who said 'what's mine is yours, what's yours is mine'?" you asked.
"Ah touché" he sighed contently, loving how comfortable you had grown around him. He remembered how uptight and shy you had been when you had first met. It had taken Yoongi so much time to get you to warm up to him. But ever since he had first laid eyes on you, he had no other determination other than to make you his. He was infatuated with you.
How many hours had he spent in the library, quietly watching you study. Those long study nights had become his favorite part of the day. Sitting there and observing you had become the most calming activity for him. It was almost like meditating. He ended his every day with you, just watching you from afar and letting you cleanse his soul from the dirt that life threw his way. It was the purest form of love that he had experienced with you for the very first time. It was you who had taught him a love that went beyond touch and reached his soul.
His eyes wandered to your intertwined fingers, and he felt a cozy feeling engulf his heart. So this is the love a million novels tried to put into words, he thought to himself, mesmerized by your twinkling eyes.
"Ooo Churros" you cheered, pulling Yoongi after you as you headed for the food truck. Ordering two, without giving Yoongi the chance to part his lips, you quickly paid for it and handed him his churro.
"Yah, why won't you let your boyfriend treat you" he complained, pouting cutely.
"You are always paying for me, let me give back to you" you said, "It's 2020, girls can pay for their boyfriends too, you know?"
Yoongi chuckled, looking at you with adoring eyes. He was mesmerized by your beauty - not only your outer appearance, but the graceful beauty of your soul.
"Hmm" you hummed, taking a bite. "I am addicted to these."
Yoongi amusedly watched you munch on your churro, your pink lips covered in sugar.
"Hey, look at me" he said, pulling you aside and slightly pushing you against a cold brick wall. "You got something there" he muttered, eyes fixed on your lips. When his warm lips captured yours in a tender kiss, you felt your knees weaken and cheeks burn.
"Mhmm" he hummed against your lips, making you chuckling lightly. "This tastes much better than that churro."
"Well, if you don't like your churro, I can gladly take it" you said, grinning.
Yoongi smiled at how cute you were and handed you his churro.
"That appetite of yours is fascinating" he teased and you hit his chest.
"Can't a girl enjoy her food without feeling guilty about it" you complained, pretending to be offended by furrowing your eyebrows and trying to look angry but Yoongi could see through you. His heart melted by the sight of your cute angry pout. He knew that you didn't give a shit about what others thought of you, which was one of the many things that he loved and cherished about you.
"Baby, I wasn't criticizing you but praising you" he elaborated, a grin growing on your lips as you turned to him.
"You better be" you said, "You are stuck with me for the rest of your life now. Will you be able to satisfy my appetite when I am pregnant one day?"
Yoongi was a little taken aback by your question, his imagination creating a picture of you with a baby belly and that significant glow that pregnant women were told to have. He smiled at the thought, feeling his heart grow in his chest with love.
"Don't worry, I won't disappoint. I already began stocking up food in the basement. By the time you are pregnant we will have our own little supermarket down there" he slyly replied, having you gasp at his impressive comeback.
"Woah, setting up my expectations very high, I see" you commented, "Not to put pressure on you or anything, but I can be a bitch when I am hungry."
Yoongi chuckled, bending down to lift you up and set you down on a wall nearby. He stood in between your legs, his head tilted back so that he could look at your face. You loosely wrapped your arms around his neck and rested your forehead against his. The moon was shining bright high up in the clear night sky, the stars twinkling in harmony.
"Is this life?" you whispered, smiling goofily at how cheesy that sounded. Yoongi smiled back, his nose scrunched cutely. He understood perfectly what you were trying to say because he felt the same.
"I guess" he replied in the same soft tone.
"Then life is actually not as shitty as I thought it was" you added, making him laugh, feeling his warm breath on your lips.
"Who would have thought, right?" he mumbled and you got lost in each other's eyes. Your chests were heavy with burning desire and your minds fogged up with silly insecurities. He wondered whether it would be inappropriate to ask you if you would like to come over to his, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. You on the other hand were nervously chewing on your bottom lip as you fought the urge to kiss him.
Your hearts were racing and adrenaline was rushing through your veins as you silently stared at each other, pretending not to notice the tension. It was funny how the both of you could be this shy around each other one moment and act like a married couple of twenty years the next. But perhaps this was what was so exciting, what made your hearts skip a beat. It was the pure love of young lovers who didn't know what to do around each other and bashfully smiled, avoiding eye contact. He loved the way you made him feel. Who would have thought he would be this soft for a girl one day?
"Let me give you a piggyback ride" he said, pecking your lips sweetly. Giggling you climbed on his back and wrapped your arms around his neck from behind.
"Take me to your place" you said, glad that he couldn't see you blushing, "I want to see what you have stocked up already."
Yoongi chuckled, feeling relieved that you had slickly saved the both of you of the awkwardness of asking to spend more time together.
"I love you" he blurted. Cuddling closer to him, you smiled contently. "I love you more yoongles."
