Dalton has to work. Not the fun work we both love to do together, but the separate work jobs we have. While I have work at Blitz, a smoothie shop, Dalton works at Ricky’s, a sports shop. Which is ironic, Dalton doesn’t really like to play sports.

I haven’t heard from any of the girls or the IM5 crew. So I drove by Milio’s and got Dalton’s favorite sandwich and chips for lunch. Obviously, as a surprise. Cause’ let’s face it, I’m the best girlfriend ever when I want to be.

I walked through the mall, heading to the other end where Ricky’s is. Why I didn’t park in that parking lot? I don’t know. I need the exercise I guess.

I recognized some chipper laughter. I turned my head in the direction it was coming from to see ALL the girls coming out of Starbucks; holding their expensive coffee, giggling, and talking. Honestly, it hurt it a bit. Why didn’t they call me up? I walked over to them and, with a smile I plastered on my face, I said, “Fancy to see you here.”

“Hey, Rox. Watcha dooin here?” Brianna asked.

“Funny… I could ask you guys the same thing.” I replied. Not answering. They didn’t need to know I was taking lunch to Dalton. Especially since he doesn’t know about it. Knowing them, one of them would text and let him know I’m on my way down there to give him lunch.

“Oh, we’re just have a girls day.” Tea stated. Then all of them went into a roll of laughter. What is so funny? The ache in my stomach grew a bit. What is that? Am I jealous? Upset? Well yeah… they didn’t ask me to come. I didn’t have anything going on today. It’s why I’m even bringing Dalton lunch in the first place. A late lunch I might add.

I made some fake laughter, then asked, “What’s so funny?”

“Oh… Nothing…” Faith replied. They all looked at each other, looking on the verge of laughing again.

“So you say you’re having a girls day?”

“Yup.” Samantha chirped.

“Well, I’m a girl… and you didn’t invite me.” I replied, a little solemnly, and looked at the ground.

Brianna playfully pushed my shoulder. “You know you’re not into shopping.”

“You don’t know that.” I snapped. They all went into a fit of laughter once again. I rolled my eyes. “Seriously, guys, it’s not that funny.” All of them stopped laughing immediately.

Brianna replied with a small frown. “We didn’t think you’d want to come. We didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.”

I made a hysterical laugh. “You guys didn’t hurt my feelings.” All of them shot me looks. I huffed. “So what if you did? Can’t change it. I gotta go.”

“What do you got in your hand there?” Brianna asked, pointing at the Milio’s bag. Shit.

I shook my head. “It’s nothing. Just my lunch.”

Darby smirked. “Last time I checked, there’s no Milio’s in this mall. You’re bringing Dalton lunch, aren’t you?”

I shrugged. "So what if I am?” But then I added, pointing my finger between all of them. “I swear, if any of you text him, I will break your phone.” They all clutched onto their phones for dear life. Well, solves that problem. Except for Darby, she just gave me a bored look but I know she wouldn’t tell him.

I made a small laugh. “Well I do have to go. See you later.”

“You can join us after you’re done taking Dalton his lunch… If you want.” Tea said as I turned my back on them.

I continued walking but put a finger up in the air to tell them I heard it. I don’t know if I’ll go join them. I mean, they didn’t invite me in the first place for a reason. They’re not entirely in the wrong on this; I am not much of a shopping girl. At least I don’t shop at the stores they go to. Except Brianna and Darby would go to some of the places I shop at.

***

I set foot into Ricky’s sports shop. I headed towards the back area where the gear for soccer was. It’s kind of where Dalton likes to hang out. Probably because it’s the only sport he can watch. Just like me.

I walked by one of the aisles that had the softball bats, gloves, etc. and saw Parrot messing around with one of the softball bats. If he’s going to do that, then why isn’t he just doing it with a baseball bat? He just looks weird with the small pink and black softball bat.

“Working hard, Parrot?” I joked.

He just shook his head, laughing. “Workin hard.”

Parrot aka Luke Jennings is one of the mangers at Ricky’s. Luke is a copier. What I mean by that, is pretty much everything I say (mainly sarcastic comments) he repeats them. Hence why I call him Parrot.

As I thought I would, I found Dalton hiding out in the soccer gear. He was resting against one of metal bins that have the soccer balls in it. He was writing something in the black composition notebook- as usual. He just sits around, wearing the black polo and khakis that’s mandatory, writing in the black composition notebook. At least until someone comes up to him with a question of where to find something or if he can help them. His managers let him do it too. They’re pretty cool. I already introduced you to Luke, but then there’s Bryan Jennings. He’s such a jokester. I can never take him seriously- ever! He can get me laughing so hard my sides hurt.

If you haven’t realized it by now, they’re brothers. Twin brothers- the same short spiked in front brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin, perfect sparkly white teeth (I don’t know how they do it) and stealth surfer muscle build (for that, they both played football, baseball, basketball, and soccer in high school. I heard Bryan’s going off to Drake for a soccer scholarship and Luke also is going off to Drake but with a scholarship for baseball). Their dad owns the place. Which is how they got the managerial job, and have kept it, in the first place. Really though, they’re great guys but not the best with managing whatsoever. Even I could do better.

As I approached Dalton, he was still engrossed with what he was writing- he was tapping his foot too. He’s writing a new song. I caught a glimpse of the vein popping out on his wrist and had to bite my lip for a second. Then I saw the guitar tattoo and couldn’t help but smile like an idiot. It’s been about a month since we got them.

“What’s it called?” I asked, casually hiding the bag of Milio’s behind me.

Dalton shrugged, setting his pencil in the composition notebook and closed it. “Haven’t figured that out yet. What’s in the bag?”

I smirked. “It starts with an M and ends with ilio’s.”

He shot me a smirk. “Milio’s.”

I scrunched up my nose. “Gave too much?”

He shook his head. “No, I can smell it.” Dalton wrapped his arm around my waste, pulling me to him, and then he plucked the bag from my hand. He opened it to see what I got him and he gave me a big smile. “Thanks.”

I leaned in, giving him a kiss on the cheek. “No problem. Only for the best guitar player.”

“I’m not the best. You are.” Dalton retorted, but I know he’s serious. He sometimes doesn’t like it when I compliment him. But sometimes I don’t either and, in this case, I don’t.

I stated back, “Am not.”

Dalton smirked. “Can you ever take a compliment?”

“Can you?” I snapped back lightly.

We both looked at each and replied, “No.” Then laughed.

“I’d love to stay but I got some shoppin to do.” I said after Dalton had scarfed down half of his sandwich.

With his mouth full still, he replied, “Mkay.” I gave him a second to realize what I said. He swallowed his food completely and then he looked at me with a raised brow. “Shopping?”

I patted my hand on his shoulder. “Don’t worry. Just for bras and undies.”

Dalton’s face turned red big time but then he masked it over with a smirk. “For next time, make sure it’s all black and lace.”

It was my turn for my face to go bright red and a double take. Then I shot tiny daggers. “You know how I feel talking about it.”

“Not when you told Cole.” Dalton retorted.

“You’re still upset about that? All I did tell Cole was we did it and I didn’t even mean to say it, it slipped out.”

“How do you just slip out about having sex with someone?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know. If I knew, I’d tell you.” That earned me a sticking out of tongue by him. I rolled my eyes, then said, “I really should go. I’ll see you later.”

Dalton sighed. “Okay.” I leaned down to give him a kiss on the lips this time. I pulled back, but Dalton leaned up to steal another kiss, then he laughed about it like a little kid.

“You’re such a child, Dalton.” I huffed.

“Yeah, well, so are you.” Dalton snapped back.

“Good one.” I retorted as I walked away snickering.

“You want me to try on what?” I looked at Tea mortified. They, somehow, managed to drag me into Victoria’s Secret. Tea held up this red lingerie dress that had black lace lined on the edges.

Tea shoved it into my hands. "Just try it on. I swear, you won’t regret it.”

I dropped on it on the floor and replied, “I think I will.”

Tea huffed in frustration. “Don’t you want your sex life to be more daring?”

I shot daggers at her, mainly because she kind of yelled that aloud. I gritted through my teeth, “I think the guy I’m with makes my sex life daring enough.”

“Sorry to bud in here, but uh… Rox is right on this one, but Tea you’re also right.” Brianna piped in. Now, I changed the direction of my daggers to Brianna.

“Bri!” I exclaimed.

“What?” She shrugged. “You gotta do something different. What do you wear usually?”

“What do you mean what do I wear usually?”

“I mean what do you wear when you’re you know-“

“I don’t wear anything!” I whispered yelled.

Both Tea and Brianna took in breaths. “You don’t?”

I shook my head. “No, I mean I wear a bra and underwear.”

“But no lingerie?” Darby butted in.

“How much did you hear?” I asked.

“Everything. I think the whole store heard everything.” I looked around to see two other girls in the same area as us and they ducked out.

“Great…” I groaned. I am mentally face palming myself right now.

“Would you please just try it on? I can already say Dalton will love it on you.” Tea begged.

I made a very, very, very long sigh then replied, “Will you shut up about it if I do?”

She nodded her head excitedly. I, aggressively, snatched the preposterous thing out of her hands. I don’t know why they are all pushing me to try this on. I slipped on the lingerie and stood there for a minute or two before hearing, “Are you going to come out?” from Tea. I huffed and reluctantly came out of the dressing rooms to show them. There were a couple of whistles.

“Dang Rox, even I’d bang you.” Darby stated.

I gave her a look. “Not funny. Now can I take this off?”

“Why are you so hung up on not wearing this?” Tea asked.

“Because I don’t want to be seen as a sex toy by Dalton.” I argued. Well, there she blows.

“That’s what you’re afraid he’ll think?” Brianna asked.

I nodded, crossing my arms across my chest. "Well yeah… that’s all these things are made for to do.”

“I can be one hundred and ten percent right when I say this, Dalton won’t think of you like that. Just this will… spice it up a bit more.” Tea replied.

“I still don’t think so.” I replied and all of them made exasperated huffs.

Tea pointed a finger at me. "If you’re not going to buy it, then I’ll buy it for you to wear.”

“You can buy it but I ain’t wearing it.” I stated.

“Oh, you’re going to wear it. When was the last time you, two, did it?” Now, I actually had to think on this one.

“Uhh… Month or so ago.” I answered hesitantly.

“Dang! Girl, you for real?” Darby asked. I didn’t even reply to that one.

“Okay, you have to get this and you have to wear it tonight when you go stay at Dalton’s.”

I huffed. “Fine.” Then I went back into the dressing room. But before I took it off I looked at myself in the mirror again. It really doesn’t look that bad; extenuates my chest perfectly and it’s just short enough for his eyes to keep going. Plus I look good in red. I paid for the lingerie and we ended up going to a couple more stores. By the time we were done it was close to six-thirty and the sun was setting. On the drive to his house, I gave Dalton a ring.

“Hey, how was shopping?” Dalton asked, his tone teasing.

I made a small laugh. “It was good. I’ve got a… a sexy surprise for you.” My tone sly on the last few words.

Dalton also made a small laugh and a cough. “Can’t wait to see it.”

“Me either. I’ll see you in a bit. Just turnin-“ The last thing I remember is seeing the bright lights coming from the side and hearing the short, high pitched scream leaving my throat.
