I don't really remember how we met, but all I can remember was that Frisk was watching me sleep is all. I don't know what happened after that, but we soon became friends. I know Papyrus told me everything that has happened, but I sorta wasn't listening.
But ever since, life on the surface, has been a bit peachy.
emphasis on the "bit" part.
Me and Paps still need to do out jobs, but the humans on the surface don't really like that. Ever since we got here, it feel like everyone is targeting us. Papyrus just ignores it, or just doesn't mind. I...can't really do that.
It's more of a spot I'm at. Since the incident with Life and everything...My feelings are still...vulnerable.
At least I got to spend more time with Papyrus, now that I can see Life anytime I want!
Frisk let them stay with us, despite the huge size in population. The humans agreed for the Monster to have there own part of the town. We got the Eastern side the humans got the Western side.
I was fine with that.
Frisk helped us with making more houses, and moving other monsters in, he let Life, Papyrus, Undyne, Asgore, Alphys, Gerson, and I stay with Frisk.
Said something like "My house is too big for me, and I'd like to share it", something close to that.
Frisk does understand that they can't touch my brother and I, so we're fine with it.
It's been two years on the surface, and it's been the best two years of my life, seeing Papyrus as a young 20 year old adult, then there's me. A 25 year old. I really feel older though.
"Hey! Reaper!" Life called out, "Yeah Tori?" I replied. Life giggled cutely, "I was thinking, and remember that you don't know how to teleport to other worlds, so, I had the grand idea to teach you!" Life said giggling more.
I smiled, "Sure! I've been trying for so long, but I still don't get the concept of it all" I replied, walking up to Life.
The house was big, and was made of wood, although most of the floor was carpet, and tiles. Papyrus and I refrained from touching anything wooden, which reminds me of Bird for some reason.
The house was two stories, and had multiple rooms, all of which weren't used for Frisk. It's usually for people in need, but Frisk doesn't get much company.
There was two couches downstairs, and one rocking chair. There was a fireplace, and books of all kinds I like to read on my free time when I'm not hangout with my friends, or doing my job...
"Come on! Outside is a good place to do this!" Life said with a warm smile. We walked outside, the grass under my feet turning black, but I'm used to it by now since Life would always fix the grass.
The front lawn was pretty nice, even though it was just grass, but Life was thinking about putting flower bed around the yard to make it more presentable and just plain out pretty.
Life gave a soft smile. "Death probably told you HOW to get there, but not what you NEED to get there? Am I correct?" Life asked. I nodded.
"Death told me 'Teleporting is when you imagine, one thing! That one thing, will take you there, whether it be stars, fur, or castles and knights'. I did learn how to teleport around the same AU, I just don't know my way around other AUs" I told her.
She hummed in understanding. "Well, first of all, Death didn't tell you that someone must take you there first before your able to get there by yourself. It's great you know how to teleport, but your teleportation powers can only take you to places that you recognize. If you don't know certain places it's almost impossible to go anywhere other than the places you know." Life told me.
"Well if I would of known that, I wouldn't have been wasting my times trying to go to other places" Reaper said shrugging.
Life chuckled as they both stopped in there tracks. Reaper looked up at Life, as Life looked down at him.
"Take my hand...I'll show as many AU as I can" Life told me. My eyes sparkled in her smile of hope. I smiled as I took her hand. Soon we were in another place. I didn't know where but it was similar to my own AU.
Everything looked the same, just more of a different color. This AU was more blue then my grey AU.
"What is this place?" I asked, Life whispered me. "Stay quiet, and stay low" Life said in a whisper, crouching. I did the same, looking confused.
We were in the trees, in the shadows. A human kid walked past. The held a stick, and had a bandage on there cheek. It reminded me of Bird friend Frisk, and well, the kid at home who's name is also Frisk.
The kid had a blue sweater with two purple stripes across there stomach. Behind them was a person who's face wasn't visible, but I could tell they were a skeleton.
The invisible monster broken a stick, but teleported somewhere else for a second when the human turned around to see who it was.
Soon the human kept walking, but the monster teleported back, and started following the human.
I was utterly confused, no pun intended with Life around...being a goat...
ANYWAYS!
The human and skeleton monster were far away for them to not hear us, but Life kept it to a whisper.
"Reaper, this is Undertale, the first AU to ever be created, without it, you wouldn't exist in this multiverse" Life said.
"Come on, I got more to show you!" Life said, holding my hand, and tip toeing away.
I looked back at the skeleton, who was talking to the human. He looked like me, just more tired, and lazier, but hey! Who am I to judge.
Life showed me around Undertale and all the characters. Everyone looked so similar, just with different clothing, and a bit of a personality change, but so similar.
I liked the AU, even though it reminded me of the underground. I feel a bit bad that this "Sans" has to be trapped underground, unlike me, and my other friends.
Soon Life and I left and went to another AU.
They were all alike.
One was more edgier then the original
Another was the opposite of the original
and other AU that had a certain theme to it.
I guess where I live, the theme is gods and goddess.
To be truthful. My favorite AU is Outertale. The star are so pretty, I've never seen anything so beautiful.
Life and I went to a lot of AUs, and even timelines, with different endings. I didn't like the one where everyone dies...or when a Sans kills everyone in a timeline.
It's sad...Life and I couldn't even interfere which was sad.
Soon we went home, and it was dark. We spent the whole day looking at AUs, and it was the best day I had so far, seeing new places and such.
Life smiled as we walked back inside the house.
Papyrus was waiting for me with Frisk, and as soon we walked inside, Papyrus intermediately picked me up and hugged me tightly.
"OH SANS YOUR ALRIGHT! I WAS GETTING WORRIED YOU SHOULD OF TOLD ME YOU WERE WITH LIFE! YOU HAD ME WORRIED TO DEATH!!!" Papyrus yelled, tearing up.
I giggled at the pun Papyrus said on accident.
Papyrus was confused, but I know he sensed a pun.
Papyrus then put me down, and let us in, closing the door behind us.
The evening wasn't long, we all eat, and cleaned up and went to bed.
Papyrus and I shared a bed, and the others either slept with there loved one
cough cough Undyne and Alphys! cough
or they slept alone
Asgore cough
But other that that we all went to bed. I sat in my bed thinking about all the alternate AUs, and different 'me' it got me thinking almost all night.
Papyrus was sleeping like a bug in a rug, and me. I was just laying there, thinking and thinking.
Gaster was right! There is different versions of us!
...Man I do wish he was here. Even if he isn't my dad...he did take care of me for most of my life.
My mind was empty...
Till my soul tugged at me.
Papyrus even felt it too. He groaned in disturbance, since we both have soul, attracted to life.
Soon it was too much of Papyrus and he sat up. I sat up as well at Papyrus sudden movement.
"...You can feel it too right?" Papyrus asked suddenly, turning his head away from me. I nodded with a hum of agreement. Papyrus sighed. "Work never sleeps huh?" Papyrus said.
I scoffed, "At least, never for us" I said with a nervous grin. Papyrus stood up from bed in his pajamas. I didn't bother taking off my black shirt and pants so I stood up as well.
"Well...guess we'll have to collected a few souls tonight" Papyrus said, grabbing his black cloak and red scarf.
I looked down with empty sockets. Papyrus noticed and took a knee to me. "Hey! It's okay, No matter what they say, or what happens, everything will be okay! We were born for this job, and they can't force us to stop no matter what!" Papyrus said with a smile.
I looked back up with eyelights, "Sure paps...they'll all die one day, there time is just running short" I said looking to the side.
I realized how sadistic I sounded.
Papyrus nervously giggled, "Sure, you can put it like that if you want" Papyrus said, with a sweating smile.
I quickly put on my cloak, and put the hood over my head.
"Alright, let's get this over with" Papyrus said. I nodded as we both left out room and walked downstairs. We left the house and followed our souls to there content.
Mostly everyone in town was asleep and the lights were off, others were still awake with dim lights of fires, or candle light.
It's a strange thing, entering a house uninvited, but that's the cruel job of a reaper.
We'd usually use magic and force the door to open with blue magic, then we'd enter the house quietly, and take the humans, or monster soul entity.
In my case, it was an elderly man. He left his lights on reading a book, he died on page 267. The man was leaning, his glasses fell off his face, and he was drooling. His eyes were open.
Taking the human soul entity is pretty easy, it's just the wall of the person soul. A soul would either be a soul trait color, or the color while. When a soul is empty, that means the monster or human is dead, but the soul entity is still there.
I took my hand out, in front of there chest and summoned the case of there soul. The soul was empty but the edges still glowed of there trait, but just faintly. It was a blue color.
Once the soul case was in my hands, I'd crush the soul and break it, and that be it.
I'd go on to the next one...
and the next one...
and the next one...
The night was long, and me and Papyrus didn't get much sleep last night since we were out doing our "night shift". It was mostly old people, but an extreme rate of deaths happened last light. Most due by sleeping and old age.
But early in the morning, we got a loud awakening.
The sounds of shouting and protesting was heard from outside. I heard Papyrus quickly getting up from bed, and getting dressed. I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes open. Papyrus already had his clothes on and his cloak.
I was sleeping in my clothes from last night. "Sans! Wake up!" Papyrus shook me a little. "W-What?" I asked opening my eyes to a worried Papyrus.
"Sans! There are humans outside!" Papyrus said. Papyrus picked me up and carried me out the room and downstairs. The others were downstairs as well. Life was worried as well as everyone else.
"What's going on?" Papyrus asked, "The humans are worried, a lot of people died, and they blame you two" Frisk said.
Papyrus and I looked frightened. "I've tried talking with them, but they don't want to listen, I was forced to retreat. They all seemed heartbroken" Frisk told us.
I didn't show my eyelights, as Papyrus looked to the side ashamed. He then turned back with determination. "Let me talk to them! I'm sure we can come with a solution" Papyrus said with star in his eyes.
"Paps, I don't think it's best you go out there, they're angry at you and your brother, you'd get crushed" Undyne said with a worried tone.
Papyrus put me down and walked to the door. I grabbed his sleeve as he looked down at me and my worried face. "It's alright, if we explain, everything will be fine!" Papyrus said, I looked to the side, and let him go.
Papyrus then opened the door, and everyone outside got louder, screaming at Papyrus, as Papyrus looked down, taking all the insults.
"It's him! One of the murders!"
"MURDER!"
"YOU KILLED INNOCENT!"
"He could of lived longer!"
"My grandpops birthday was today!"
"You hurt us!"
"Your a horrible monster!"
"A god that doesn't deserve to exist!"
"He's not a monster, he's a creature!"
"DISGUSTING!"
"KILLER!"
Some curse words were pasted around, and more insults and venom was spat at Papyrus.
Anger grew in me.
How dare they insult my baby brother like that! HE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS!!!
I couldn't take it anymore. I teleported in front of Papyrus, and everyone was about to insult me, till I screamed in anger.
" Q U I E T! "
Everyone was silent....and everything was quiet.
"You think those old hags enjoyed this life? I bet you barely see them everyday!" I yelled, everyone took offend, but I didn't care.
"You think they enjoyed there sad life? Staying inside because none of you bothered to take care of them! None of you bother to take them outside for them to enjoy fresh air? Or did you just let those old people rot in there house for there FATE to be US?!" I yelled.
Life looked frighten, the other look surprised at my rudeness, Papyrus was...sort of inspired in a way.
"This is your fault! They were going to die anyways, and soon when your old and worn out, THE SAME FATE WILL BE MET WITH YOU! DEATH!!!" I said.
The dark void in my sockets were intimidating, making everyone take a step back. "NONE OF YOU, SHALL ESCAPE DEATH!" I kept yelling my anger out on the crowd.
Soon I was stopped by Life, putting her hand on my shoulder. "That's enough Reaper" she told me. I looked to the side still pissed. "All of you get the message, so this protest is pointless! It's best if you all go home to remember and mourn about your lost ones" Life said.
The crowd murmured, but soon walked away. Life suggested both Papyrus and I inside. The other were quiet and didn't look at me. Papyrus picked me up and hugged me. "You didn't need to do that for me brother, I can handle myself" Papyrus reassured, "...They were being mean to you. I could just stand there and let you take it..." I told Papyrus, digging my face into his cloak.
Papyrus grabbed my back and hugged me tighter. "It's okay if I take the hits for you brother...I know your still hurting" Papyrus told me.
"That's the problem! This is all my fault, if- if!"
"Hey this is no ones fault!" Undyne interrupted me.
"Yes it is! If I didn't exist no one would be in pain! No one would have to deal with this! Because if I didn't exist no one here, but Life would be alive!" Reaper said crying into Papyrus shirt.
"Hey! E-Everything is f-fine now! You should be h-happy that we're a-alive!" Alphys said with a stutter.
"But none of you would be in pain if I didn't exist!" Reaper said.
His hands started to shake, his bones rattling in panic. "Sans, calm down it's over! I'm alright, and no one got hurt" Papyrus said with a smile.
"I KNOW you got hurt paps! I know you got hurt mentally! It's my job to be the big brother! Not you, I don't want you to get hurt in anyway!" Reaper said, chocking on his words.
"Sans, I'll be fine okay! We're alright, and everyone is okay, no one got hurt in anyways!" Papyrus said.
Reaper growled. He knows Papyrus was lying. He saw the face of sadness, and guilt on Papyrus face when everyone was insulting him and his actions, along with Reaper's actions.
Reaper jumped out of Papyrus hold, with an angry look, and teleported somewhere else. Before anyone could stop him...Reaper already left.
