Shin and Iris were supposed to be meeting the owner of Fortuneprise at 12 PM, but instead they are sitting inside a room, waiting for him. It's been an hour already since the given time and the owner hasn't even returned yet. They were told that he was out having a meal right now.
"Seriously these nobles, they just do whatever they want, huh?" <Shin>
As Shin was grumbling, his hair was being played with by Iris. Shin is currently lying down on the sofa and resting his head on Iris's lap. Shin was very satisfied with the softness and comfort of her thighs. He never would have thought he would be in such a blessed position, considering he was such a lonely and single guy in his previous world.
"If he doesn't come in 10 mins, let's leave. I'm bored of this place..." <Iris>
"Hmm, yeah. It's his fault for being late anyways." <Shin>
Suddenly the door opened. What entered was a man with red hair. There was a knight that was also with him.
"Apologies for being late. I was caught up in a scuffle jus- Oh? What do we have here?" <Noble>
While he strode in with a sarcastic apology, he immediately caught his attention on Iris. Looking at her face, he was captivated. She was a beauty he never witnessed before, even the noble ladies he was acquainted with are nothing compared to her. More than her looks, the pointy ears she had was even more intriguing. He immediately gussed that she was an elf.
Continuing inspecting her, he slowly moved his gaze downwards. But his eyes was met by Shin's. Shin who was still lying down on Iris's lap can already understand what the guy was thinking about. Shin sent a warning look at him.
The guy flinched at Shin's frightening look. He recovered after awhile and went to sit on the opposite sofa. The knight stood behind him.
Shin also got up and sat properly.
"Say how much would y-" <Noble>
"Oi. Stop looking at my wife. We're here to talk about bussiness." <Shin>
Shin was very annoyed with what the guy was doing. After sitting down, his eyes were still glued to Iris. Iris felt such creepy gaze that she hug onto Shin's arm for comfort.
"Ah, oh, the Obnova flower, correct? Yes, that's what we're here for!" <Noble>
Despite saying that, his mind was still about Iris.
"Your name is Shin, correct?" <Noble>
"Yeah." <Shin>
"As for me, my name is Harold Bastorn. I'm the owner of Fortuneprise. After reading the report, you're quite a remarkable guy. To become a D-Rank adventurer after only being an adventurer for a day. And most important of all to have obtain an obnova flower from within a cursed cave. And then, having a beautiful slave with you." <Harold Bastorn>
Harold once again looked at Iris.
"Yeah, yeah, enough about me." <Shin>
Shin took out one Obnova flower and placed it on the table between them. Harold instantly changed his sight to the object in front of him. He looked at Shin, seeking permission to touch it. Shin just nod at him. He then carefully picked it up and began inspecting it. After judging that it was legit, he put the flower back down.
"Let's get straight to the point. How much will you sell it for?" <Harold Bastorn>
"That's what I wanna know. How much are you willing to buy it for? I came here because I'm unsure of the market price." <Shin>
"Hmm..." <Harold Bastorn>
He held his chin as he thinks of the supposed market price.
"Since it's rare and there hasn't been any on the market yet, I would buy it for about 500,000 Qil. Considering the effects of this flower is omnipotent, it should be a decent amount." <Harold Bastorn>
Shin thought a little whether it was worth it. He then asked Iris.
"Iris what do you think? Should I sell it?" <Shin>
"Eh!? Asking me? Uuu~ I'm not good at marketing, so I don't know..." <Iris>
"It's okay." <Shin>
Shin didn't mean to tease her. He then looked back at Harold, as he told him his answer.
"Sure. I'll sell it to you for 500,000 Qil." <Shin>
"Great! Now then, why don't we discuss something else, shall we?" <Harold Bastorn>
"Tch!" <Shin>
Shin does not like where this is going. He could already guess what Harold wanted.
"Since you don't seem to want to sell that elf beside you, how about selling me your other slave?" <Harold Bastorn>
"What?" <Shin>
Shin was curious as to who Harold was referring to. There were only two other people who could be talking about.
"She had the same mark on her hand as that elf. That means she is also your slave, right?" <Harold Bastorn>
Shin furrowed his brows. He was getting annoyed that Harold kept bringing up the word slave.
"What does she look like? And how did you know her?" <Shin>
"She had long black hair and her eyes were beautiful red." <Harold Bastorn>
Layla?
Shin knew who he was referring to with those features.
"She interrupted in my affair and even injured me. Look! She crushed my hand! That bitch dare to injure a noble! She will pay!" <Harold Bastorn>
Harold swing his hand left and right, trying to show his hand that was bandaged and injured.
Though his face didn't show much of it, inside, Shin was very pissed off. Harold had called one of his wife, not only a slave, but also a bitch. He wanted to rip his throat out, but Iris who understood him gave him a worried look. He calmed down after thinking that he shouldn't cause trouble here. At least not yet.
"What happened? Did you do something to provoke her?" <Shin>
"I was just meeting an old acquaintance and was teaching her lesson. And then that bitch appeared in front of me and grabbed my hand. Even now it still hurts!" <Harold Bastorn>
Harold was grumbling about how his hand was still hurting.
Shin on the other hand, conclude that Harold must have been throwing a punch or something at someone. And Layla who saw it, intercepted it.
"Then what happens next?" <Shin>
"I had to back off, of course. That bitch was too strong for me to handle. I declared to her before I left that I will buy her and teach her a lesson! That's why, how much would you sell her!? Her looks are of high quality, so I'm willing to pay 1,000,000 Qil for her! What do you think!? " <Harold Bastorn>
Hearing what Harold intends to do to Layla, Shin was even more pissed off. Iris was also feeling disgusted.
"No thanks. She's not for sale." <Shin>
"What? Why? I'm paying a million Qil, you know? Million! That's an absurd amount especially for an adventurer like you!" <Harold Bastorn>
"She's not a slave. She's my wife. Why would I sell her? You think I'm that kind of guy? Even if you pay me a 100 times more, I wouldn't accept. So you can keep your filthy money." <Shin>
Harold was in disbelief at Shin's rejection. He never thought that there was people who will look away when a million Qil was presented to them.
"Oh yeah? You think I will take no as an answer? I have to get her. I need to teach her a lesson. You better sell her to me or I will have to use force." <Harold Bastorn>
Harold was really unhappy about Shin's attitude.
"Oh? You want to use force? Hah! Try me!" <Shin>
"This bastard... Stronzo!" <Harold Bastorn>
He shouted someone's name. That person later came in through the door. He also had brought four other people with him.
"Well, well, well, we meet again. The last time we met, I told you to hide your so-called wives, right? But instead, here you are flaunting one of them." <Stronzo>
The person who entered was non other than the S-Rank adventurer party they met when they first entered the adventurer guild.
"Why would I listen to you? I can do whatever I want." <Shin>
"Hah! Cocky, aren't ya? Let's see what you have to say once we beat you up!" <Stronzo>
Just like last time, Stronzo sent the signal to his members to surround them.
"Yes! Beat him up and force him to give me his other slave!" <Harold Bastorn>
Harold also issued his command to the party. They were hired by Harold to act as an emergency measures, in case he needed protection or help. And as he expected, it was the right decision to do it. Harold had specifically hired Firefly, one of the famous adventurer party in the capital. Their leader, Stronzo, is an S-Ranked adventurer.
"Hey, Boss! Since you want the other one, let me have this elf here." <Stronzo>
"That's fine by me. Though I want an elf, the other one is more important. Make it fast, I have something else to do after this." <Harold Bastorn>
"Hehe, you got it!" <Stronzo>
Stronzo had a very big smile on his face. He had never done it with an elf before. So thinking of being able to do one soon, made him very excited. On the other hand, Shin is annoyed. He hated this kind of people. Those who act so arrogant and abuses their strength and authority, pisses him off. They could be using such stature for good things, but instead, they use them for bad purposes.
"Whatever world it is, assholes like you will always find its way and ruin people, huh?" <Shin>
Shin remembered how his boss always force him to finish his work for him. Even when he was done, he was given more. He couldn't rebuke since he will get fired. But now is different. He has the strength to fight back. However, he decided to let someone else do it.
"Iris. Why don't you use them as training." <Shin>
"Eh?" <Iris>
Iris who was beside Shin, was confused with what he said.
"These group of idiots, use what you've learn to take them out. Your training thus far has been fruitful. I believe you can defeat 5 of them by yourself. I'll give you an extra 5,000 PL just in case." <Shin>
"Huh? You really think so, Shin-Sama? I don't disagree with your judgement, but I'm kind of nervous. I don't want to hurt them..." <Iris>
"Haha! If I sense that you're making a mistake, I will intercept and help you. So don't worry about it. Besides, if you don't hurt them, I will. Though it will be gruesome." <Shin>
"Okay! Okay! I-I'll do it! Shin-Sama don't have to do anything, just watch me! Okay?" <Iris>
"Of course." <Shin>
Shin and Iris were having their own personal conversation, as if they weren't in any troublesome situation right now.
Stronzo who were being ignored and mock, was getting agitated.
"Oi! Oi! What are you two talking about? The elf's gonna beat us up? All of us? What a joke! The only beating that's gonna happen are the one we are gonna deliver to you idiot, and then the elf, once I chain her onto a bed!" <Stronzo>
Stronzo was laughing while making a delightful face.
Shin was again annoyed, but more than him is Iris. Iris was making a scary expression after hearing what Stronzo just said.
"What do you call Shin-Sama? Idiot? Shin-Sama isn't an idiot, you are. You're the idiot who doesn't know how to behave. You're the idiot who thinks he can do whatever he wants. You're the idiot who is gonna get his ass beaten up by me!" <Iris>
Iris was sending a murderous look towards Stronzo. Stronzo who received it flinched a bit, but quickly recovered.
"Let's see what you still have to say after I get my hands on you! Boys! Get her!" <Stronzo>
""Yes, Boss!"" <Firefly Members>
The four people that had surrounded Shin and Iris, all charged after them at the same time. With each of them carrying different weapons, they aimed at Iris.
Shin was still sitting on the sofa, acting normal. While Iris who was being targeted, materialise her bow and swiftly shot four arrows towards each of the people. Her actions was so fast, that they weren't able to react. By the time they saw a bow on her hand, the arrows had already hit them. All the arrows were accurately aimed at their weapons. Barely even close to Iris, all of them had already been disarmed. They stopped, after realising that their weapons were flying in the air, before falling to the floor with a 'klang-king' sound.
All of them had a mixed of surprised and confused expression on them. They didn't expect her to be that fast and good. While they were still in a state of confusion, Iris had already begun shooting another set of arrows. This time, she imbued them with wind magic. The arrows flying towards them had a tornado spinning behind them. As they hit their target, they were sent flying along their path until they hit an obstacle. Thus, all four of them became unconscious after crashing into the wall on all sides.
Stronzo and Harold who witnessed that scene had their mouth open wide. Unable to comprehend what had happened. Or even how. They looked down on the elf all this time, and now to be proved otherwise, they were at a loss. On the other hand, Shin was clapping.
"That was splendid! You look so graceful and beautiful!" <Shin>
Shin was admiring Iris. Iris who received such praises instantly became flustered. One, her husband had complimented her for a successful attack. And two, it was her first time in a battle against people.
Stronzo who couldn't accept it, took this opportunity while she was in that state, to attack her. Being a bare handed fighter, he had to come close to his opponent. Since his opponent uses a bow, which is long-range, it is necessary for him to close the distance. Confident of his speed, he manage to get near to Iris. He immediately unleash his skill that envelops his hand in flames, and then sent a punch at the defenseless Iris. Since he didn't want to damage her face, he instead aimed for her stomach. But what his hand came in contact with was not her stomach. Instead it was a dagger. Stronzo who grasp the situation was in disbelief at what had happen. Iris who was defenseless, who didn't even ready her bow, was suddenly holding a dagger instead and had managed to block his attack with it.
"Wha-!? How!? You're just a slave! How can you have so much strength!? Nonsense!" <Stronzo>
Stronzo refused to accept this. Throughout his adventurer career, there wasn't any particular people who can match with him. As much of a bastard he is, his talent and skill were legit. He had properly climbed to the S-Rank. And to be stopped confidently by a slave was unacceptable to him. He clad his other hand in flames and once again attack her. But Iris dodged beautifully. Iris then envelop her dagger in the same wind magic and thrust it at Stronzo. He was sent flying to the opposite direction and crashed through the door, eventually lying unconscious outside the room.
All 5 members of Firefly were rendered unconscious effortlessly by Iris. They are not dead thanks to Iris, who minimised the power of the wind magic. Thus making the impact more like a blunt weapon, instead of a sharp one.
Iris was quite satisfied with the outcome. She was happy that her training was fruitful. She celebrated by throwing herself onto Shin, and into an embrace.
"Yayy~! Shin-Sama, I really did it! I beat all of them by myself, and it was rather easy! I'm so happy!" <Iris>
"Yes, yes. You did wonderful. I will reward you for your success later tonight, okay?" <Shin>
"Ehehehe~" <Iris>
While Shin and Iris were in love world, Harold who were on the sofa opposite of them, had a pale expression. Shin who saw it, called out to him.
"Oi, what happened to you haughty attitude earlier? The scums you hired are already invalid. Even your guard who was behind you had ran off through the broken door. You're the only one left to take care of." <Shin>
"Eek!!! Please don't hurt me! It was a misunderstanding! That Stronzo guy was the one who attacked you two, not me! I didn't do anything!" <Harold Bastorn>
"Haah..." <Shin>
To the scared Harold, Shin just sighed at his words. As usual, once someone is cornered, they will blame others just to save themself. Especially when it was clearly their idea or decision to do it. Such a selfish behaviour really pisses Shin off.
However, Shin decided to ignore him. He can't be bothered to try and drill some integrity into a brainless idiot. He had other things to settle right now.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Now just quickly transfer me the money for the Obnova flower, and I will leave." <Shin>
"Yes, yes! Right away!" <Harold Bastorn>
Harold quickly took a card out of his breast pocket and configure something on it. He already had Shin's ID card information when he accepted his request at the merchant guild. So transferring the money was all that's left to do. Shin took out his ID card and checked its balance. The amount being paid for the Obnova flower was successfully transferred to his account.
"Good doing business with you. This will probably be the first and last of it." <Shin>
Shin was about to get up from the sofa and leave, but he suddenly remembered something. It was a matter that he needed to settle on this meeting. Shin needed to verify with Harold an important matter that he encountered with.
"Before I go, I have something to ask you. Is there anyone in your company or household, that you expelled?" <Shin>
