Your POV
I woke up and was about to get out of the bed when I felt something next to me.
Maya was cuddled up into my side. I carefully got out the bed and went to the bathroom and did my business.
I brushed my teeth and took a shower. I saw my eye was super black.
I went back into the room.
"What the hell happened to your face." Jayden asked coming up to me and looking at it.
"I fought Mike last night. He was trying to hit me for being smart with
Him yesterday." I said.
"That's why he went to the hospital with a broken nose." She said.
"I don't think we can stay here much longer." I said.
"Where would we go." She asked.
"Anywhere but here." I said.
"How and we have Maya." She said.
"We can plan everything out. While I'm gone for my time I'll go to the store and get some things we'll need on the way." I said.
"Ok. When you go I'll start packing our stuff." She said.
"Y/n there's someone waiting for you in the front." Linda said.
"I don't have any family." I said.
"Go see." She said and I went to the front.
Brie was looking around the place.
"Hey Brie, What are you doing here." I asked.
"I was just coming by to see if you were ok. What happened to your face." She asked.
"I got in a fight." I said.
"Why did you get into a fight." She said.
"They don't treat us right in here." I said raising my shirt so she could the bruise.
She grabbed my hand and took me outside.
"They hit on you guys." She said.
"Some of them. If you don't listen or you get smart they come and take you in the middle of the night. I fought off Mike last night because I was 5 minutes late yesterday." I said.
"You can't stay here." She said.
"I know. Jayden and I were planning to leave tonight. We're taking Maya with us." I said.
"Where will you go." She asked.
"Anywhere but here." I said.
"Do you have a marker or pen." She asked.
I handed her the marker I had in my hoodie.
She wrote something on my arm.
"That's my address and my phone number. You can come stay with me if you want but if you decide not to at least keep contact with me." She said.
"Ok." I said nodding and she hugged me. I hugged her back.
"I gotta go but let me know if you need anything." She said.
"Ok." I said and she left. I went back inside.
I pulled my hoodie sleeve down and went back in the room.
"Y/n what happened to your face. Are you ok." Maya asked.
"I'm fine." I said.
"Who was it." Jayden asked.
"It was Brie. I told her what we were going to do. She gave me her number and her address. She told me to let her know if we needed anything." I said.
"We need to start packing." She said.
"Where are we going." Maya asked.
"We can't stay here anymore baby girl. We are going to find a new home." I said picking her up.
"Is it because Linda and Mike are meanies." She asked.
"Yep. Now I need you to pack all your toys and thing in your bag ok." I said.
"Ok." She said and I put her down.
As we were packing our stuff I saw my shoe box. It had money that I was saving up.
"What's that." Jayden asked.
"It's my shoebox. I put my money in here that I saved up from when I started working and things." I said.
"How much is it." She asked.
"It has to be at least 2k." I said.
"We can go get us phones and Maya can get a tablet." She said.
"You're right. Alright you two keep packing, I'll go get the phones and tablet and some things we need for later." I said.
"Alright." She said and I put my money in my book bag and told Linda I was going out for my hour and a half.
I had went to the Apple store that was in the mall. I got a IPhone 8 for Jayden and I then I got Maya an Ipad. I then went to the store and got us some things we might need for later like water bottles and snacks.
I bought another bag to put the food and stuff in. After getting everything I went back to the orphanage and went in the room.
Jayden had our bags in the closet.
"I have food and also I bought tooth brushes and towels and things. We leave tonight when everyone is sleep." I said.
"Did you get the phones." She asked and I tossed her phone me I gave Maya her iPad.
========Time Skip========
I woke up from my phone alarm. I hurried and turned it off. It was 3 in the morning so everyone was sleep.
I went into the bathroom and did my business and got dressed. I woke Jayden up and she did her business and got dressed.
I dressed Maya while she was sleep and I put one of my hoodies on her so when we were walking nobody could see her face. I put my bags on my back and Jayden did hers. I put Maya's on her back and I picked her up.
Jayden grabbed the bag with the snacks and things and we left. It was dark and the streets were empty.
"Where are we going." She asked.
"We can go to a motel for tonight then we can go to Brie's tomorrow but she lives all the way on the other side of town." I said.
"There should be a hotel or motel somewhere halfway." She said and I nodded.
I used my phone to get us to a motel that was half way. They slept on the bed while I slept on the couch. Well I didn't go to sleep because I was wide awake.
I just watched some videos and I took a nap. I woke up at 8 and Maya and Jayden were watching TV.
"Morning." They said.
"Morning." I said getting up.
I went and brushed my teeth then went back in there.
"Did you guys eat." I asked.
"No we were waiting for you to wake up." She said.
"I can go get us some breakfast from McDonalds. It's right down the street." I said.
"I want pancakes." Maya said.
"Ok Maya gets pancakes what do you want." I asked grabbed my bag and phone.
"I want pancakes too." She said.
"Alright, I'll be back. Don't go anywhere because I'm pretty sure they probably looking for us." I said.
"Ok but if they come here we're leaving." She said.
"If they do just go. You already have Brie's address." I said.
"Ok." She said.
I left for McDonalds.
Brie's Pov
I'm starting to worry. Y/n hasn't called or texted. They probably got caught.
I decided to go to the orphanage.
I grabbed my phone and left.
When I got there the kids were playing and a lady came up to me.
"I was wondering if I could file for adoption." I said.
"What are you looking for." She asked.
"I already have the three I want." I said.
"They're names." She asked.
"Y/n, Jayden, and Maya." I said.
"They ran away last night and the other kids won't tell us where they went. I'll let you sign the papers. If you can find them you can have them." She said and I nodded and followed her.
Inside the place was horrible. The kids looked like they were miserable and had nothing to do.
I signed some of the papers I needed to. It was going to be a long process to get them into my custody.
Jayden's Pov
With Y/n gone for about 10 minutes we heard sirens.
"We gotta go. Maya put your shoes on." I said and she did. I started packing all our stuff. Y/n had her bag so I had to carry the snacks and Maya.
We went out the back way into the woods. And we kept going until we didn't hear the sirens anymore.
After being in the woods I typed in Brie's address and we were closer than I thought.
"Where's Y/n." Maya asked and we headed to Brie's house.
"She went to get us breakfast. She's going to meet us at Brie's house." I said.
"Is she ok." She asked.
"Yea she's ok. I promise we'll meet her at Brie's house." I said and she nodded.
Your POV
I was on my way back when I saw the police and they were coming towards me.
"Are you Y/n." They asked and I took off running with them chasing me. I went into the woods and kept running until I lost them.
I stopped when I noticed they were gone and I called Jayden.
"Y/n? Where we you." She asked.
"I got chased by the cops into the woods. They stopped chasing me after awhile. Where are you guys." I asked.
"We're on our way to Brie's house." She said.
"Ok you guys keep going. I probably won't get there until tomorrow because I know they're watching for me. Tell Brie everything when you get there and be safe." I safe." I said.
"We will and you be safe. I know how reckless you are." She said.
"I will now go." I said.
"Ok bye Y/n." She said.
"Bye Jayden." I said and she hung up.
Let's see if I can make it through tomorrow without being caught for being reckless.
