*Jungkook POV*
Being someone's second mate is a hard position to fill. Having to fill someone's shoes who gave the person you love more than anyone else, everything he ever desired is a constant reminder that you aren't good enough.
He had everything with his ex. Everything he ever wanted apart from the fact that his mate was a cheating bastard. He had been with 4 other people in the time he was mated to Jimin.
I wasn't around when it all happened. I met Jimin a year later when he was at the playground with his son.
We immediately had a connection with each other. We both felt it and two days later we were on our first date. He told me everything from how he found out about the cheating to the agreement of their separation. They had to sign a contract to say they both agreed since they had mate marks on their necks. Which is the hardest thing for me to deal with.
I can't look at my own mark on him without having to see his old marking as well. I can't give kiss and nibble on my marking without knowing and thinking about his ex's mark as well.
I also can't give him what his ex has. I can't seem to give him another baby. We've been trying for almost a year now and it's just not happening for us.
I was currently sat on the sofa with my step son, Minjun, watching his favourite programme. He's 6 years old now so he's starting to develop his own personality which is really cute and heartwarming to watch. I can see how much Jimin adores him. I just wish I could have been the one to give him his first baby, but I can't even give him his second one.
I saw Minjun's eyes light up when he heard Jimin come home. He jumped up and ran over to him screaming his name in joy.
"Hey baby. You had a good day with papa?"
"Yeah. We made cookies for you"
"Yummy, what flavour?"
"Surprise" he giggled
"Tell me"
"Rainbow"
"My favourite" Jimin gasped and finally walked into the living room. He smiled wide at me and sat next to me, pulling my legs so they were draped over his "have you been good for papa?"
"Yeah. We played games and watched tv"
"Good" Jimin smiled and looked at me. I could see how he let himself relax as Minjun got comfortable on his chest "I missed you today" he whispered and stroked a hand over my thigh
"I missed you too"
"Night to ourselves tonight?" Jimin said which is our code for sending Minjun to bed an hour earlier
"Of course" I nodded and stood up to change all the clocks to an hour earlier since we've trained Minjun to recognise when it's his bedtime and if he can point it out himself he gets a star for his reward chart.
When they were all changed I went back to Jimin to see him in the exact same place and kissing the top of Minjuns head.
"What do you want for dinner baby?" I asked Minjun who thought for a minute before telling me he wanted spaghetti, but pronounced it as dagetti. I agreed as long as he gave Jimin the biggest kiss. Jimin giggled as he got kisses planted all over his face but laughing even more when he whispered to Minjun to attack me as well "that deserves all the spaghetti in the world" I laughed as he got settled between me and Jimin and put his attention back on the tv.
After dinner, Minjun went to play with his toys in his room while me and Jimin cuddled up to each other. We were only in the next room to him so if anything was to happen we could be there in a second.
"You seem really sad tonight beautiful" I whispered and stroked a thumb over his cheek
"I did another pregnancy test today... I'm still not pregnant. I just don't understand why. We're doing everything right"
"Baby. You should've waited to do it so I could be there with you. Knowing you've been this sad all day is horrible to know. I'll go back to the doctors tomorrow"
"I'll come with you"
"There's no point. It's obviously something to do with me. You've been pregnant before... you're fully capable. But I've never tried to make kids before. I don't know if I'm even able to. It's something I've been thinking about a lot lately. It's definitely something wrong on my part"
"Babe... you should have said that you had these worries. But I don't think anything is wrong on your part. I think we're just having bad luck"
"I still want to get myself checked over" I mumbled not quite letting myself get my hopes up that it is just bad luck
"Okay. But you're not going alone" he smiled and leaned in to kiss me gently
"PAPA! It's my bed time!" Minjun smiled as he came into our bedroom with the little clock we gave him and his star chart.
"Wow. You're so good" Jimin smiled and pulled Minjun up on the bed. He took the star chart and giggled when he saw his son watching with wide sparkly eyes to make sure he actually got a new star "Okay. Give papa a kiss good night and we'll go do your teeth and read a story"
"Good night kookie" Minjun giggled and kissed my nose
"Good night baby"
As soon as Jimin was back in bed he was straddling my hips and kissing my neck.
"Let's try again" he whispered and pulled his top off "I don't want to give up"
"Neither do I babe"
"I want Minjun to have a sibling. I want him to have someone to play with before he gets too old"
"Me too. I'm sorry I haven't been able to give you another baby. There's nothing more I want than to get you pregnant again"
"It'll happen. I'm sure of it. Don't pressure yourself too much. Try to forget we're trying to make a baby and just make love to me all night. Fill me up over and over again until you can't even walk anymore"
"Fuck" I whispered under my breath and pulled him down to kiss me again.
I woke up pretty early the next morning. I had the usual feeling of Jimin pressed close to me and the breeze from the window. I tightened my arms around Jimin and stroked my thumb over his mate mark.
We were both still sticky from the night before but neither of us cared enough or had the energy to clean up last night. Which I'm regretting now because it feels disgusting and it means doing the washing today instead. I tickled my fingers up and down Jimins spine since I know it's one of his favourite ways to be woken up.
10 minutes later he groaned and looked at me with a smile. He pecked my lips gently and cuddled back into me.
"My ass hurts" he laughed softly
"You asked for it" I smirked and kissed his hair
"I know. I loved every minute of it. You really get better every time"
"And you just get more submissive every time"
"I can't help it. When your alpha takes over I just want to submit to you until you're finished with me"
"Good. I love it"
"Carry me to the shower"
"Sure. I'm getting in with you though. Have another quick round before the day starts"
"Sounds good to me" he giggled and straddled my thighs so I stood up with his legs round my waist.
I took him into the en suite and got the water running as he held himself up. Once the water was warm I walked under it and held Jimin even closer to me.
"Breed me" he whispered in my ear and pulled on my hair
"Anything you want"
"I want a baby. Your baby" he spoke quietly and looked me in the eye
"I'll give you a baby. I promise... I'll give you a baby"
When we were both dressed in our comfortable clothes since it was the weekend I grabbed Jimins plug and walked up behind him. He smiled and turned his head to kiss my cheek, not realising at first that I had my hand in his pants. He soon realised and arched his back so it was easier for me to push it in, pressing it snug to him.
"Keep it in all day. Hopefully it'll heighten our chances"
"I hope so" he nodded and kissed me again "it'll happen for us"
"We'll see if someone can babysit later so we can go to the doctors"
"Okay. Let's go later though. I want to spend some time as a family first"
"Of course baby. I love you so much. My beautiful mate"
"I love you too. I'm so lucky to have you. You're so caring, gentle, supportive"
"You're going to make me all gooey and sappy. Stop it" I smiled and kissed his cheek "let's make Minjun his breakfast. I'm sure he's watching tv by now"
"Yeah, let's go"
When I finished breakfast I took it all into the living room and and saw Jimin laid on the sofa with his legs up the back, a known way of improving the chances of conceiving. He had Minjun next to him doing the same thing and holding his hand.
"Papa! Come and play the upside down game! Papa min said it's fun and we should play it all day. Everything looks strange"
"We will But you need to eat something first baby. I've made your favourite"
"Okay" he giggled and rolled away from Jimin to eat his breakfast
"The upside down game huh?" I chuckled as I joined Jimin with my legs over the back of the sofa. He locked his hand with mine and laughed
"Yeah. I'm just doing everything I can on my part to make it happen. You've done your job now it's my turn"
"My part of the job is pretty good" I laughed and kissed the back of his hand
"You're a creep" he smiled to himself "but I love it"
For a lot of the day we played the 'upside down' game. Minjun found it very funny to watch movies upside down but I just loved seeing Jimin wanting a baby just as much as I did.
When we got to the doctors I could see Jimins panic level rising. It's taking a toll on both of us but when you want something as much as we want this baby, you can't help but stress over it.
"Mr park and mr Jeon" the receptionist called, letting us know the doctor was ready for us
"How can I help you today?" The doctor smiled. She is always really friendly with us and knows how medical history really well, especially with this baby making stress.
"I'm still not pregnant. We're just getting really concerned why that is"
"Jimins trying to spare my feelings. We have a thought that something is wrong on my part. Maybe I can't make children or something. I want to be tested"
"Sure. I understand. I'll do a check on both of you to rule everything out. When did you last take a pregnancy test?"
"This week"
"Well do another one today so I can see myself. Here's another test. Bathroom is the first door on the right"
"Okay. Thanks"
Once Jimin was gone the doctor asked me some pretty generic questions about my health. She explained the procedure of getting checked and then asked some questions about Jimin she knew I would know the answer for.
Jimin came back and gave the doctor the pregnancy test before lying on the bed as instructed. The doctor set up her equipment and started checking Jimin over.
I felt my heart rate pick up when she looked at him confused with furrowed eyebrows. Before I could ask her she was walking away and getting the pregnancy test. It didn't take long for all the wires in my head to connect. As soon as I realised what was happening, I could see the differences in Jimin, I could smell the difference. I had been so tunnel visioned to the idea of making a baby that I didn't even realise we had already accomplished it.
Jimin still hasn't noticed as he had an arm over his eyes and couldn't see anything. I held his hand as the doctor got the equipment to scan his stomach. My heart burst with happiness as I saw the little figure on the screen with Jimin suddenly looking at the monitor when the heartbeat sounded through the room.
"What?!" He asked in shock and started crying softly
"We're already pregnant beautiful. I can smell it, you smell warmer than before" I smiled and saw Jimin look at me with the biggest smile I've ever seen
"Are we really pregnant?"
"You are" the doctor smiled to him "I would say around 2-2 half months along"
"Oh my god. We're having a baby" I whispered and squeezed Jimins hand
"Minjun is going to have a brother or sister. We have our perfect little family. You've gave me our perfect family" he smiled through tears and looked back at the screen
"I can't believe it" I whispered and kissed his forehead a few times "I love you"
The doctor wiped jimins stomach clean and let him fix his clothing before letting him hug me properly. She was kind enough to give us as much time as we needed to just be in the moment with each other.
I held him close with his legs around my waist as he sobbed softly in my neck. His arms and legs were so tight around me that I barley needed to use anything strength to carry him back to the doctors desk.
He stayed wrapped up on my lap as the doctor gave us the usual information for pregnancies. She told us the best exercises for Jimin to do, the best food, best everything pretty much.
When we were finished I carried Jimin out to the car, ignoring the looks we got from people. He's my mate and I'll do anything it takes to keep him happy.
At home we let the news fully sink in. Minjun came home about 10 minutes ago and was playing in his room. Meaning we didn't let go of each other for a good hour. Neither of us could handle the separation. I needed him close to me at all times. Any sort of a gap just felt uncomfortable. Knowing there was now another little human inside of Jimin that I had to protect with every ounce of my being filled me with pride. I got my mate pregnant. There's nothing wrong with me, there's nothing wrong with Jimin, we conceived naturally after so much stress and worry. We made a baby.
"I need the bathroom but I don't want to let go of you" He laughed and kissed his mate mark on my neck "don't move, I'll be back in one minute"
"Okay" I chuckled and watched him skip to the bathroom, then skip back to me and tuck himself into the exact same position.
"I feel emotional"
"Why beautiful?"
"The last thing I expected to hear today was that I'm pregnant. It really surprised me. I didn't even have an inclining, I feel like my body hasn't shown any of the signs I had first time round"
"Like what?"
"Sickness, headaches, heartburn"
"Because this time you have someone who truly loves you by your side" I smiled and kissed his lips
"I guess so" he giggled and looked at me "when should we tell Minjun then?"
"Tell me what?"
"Speak of the devil" Jimin laughed and pulled Minjun between us
"Tell me what papa?"
