Ruby's POV
James had been here for about twenty minutes. Yet, there wasn't much conversation, just a tiny bit of small talk. It was getting quite awkward. He seemed to be constantly staring at me. I had no idea why.
"So, how do you like it here?" James asked awkwardly.
"Um, it's fine...." I said back awkwardly.
"Good, good" he said.
It went silent for a minute or so. I noticed him staring at me again.
"So, favourite animal?" he asked.
I was a bit thrown off by his random question.
"Um, dogs, I guess" I said, unsure.
"Nice, nice" he said. "Same"
"Um nice" I said awkwardly.
James started looking around my room.
"So, you like reading?" he asked, looking at the books.
"Um yeah" I said.
"Nice" he said. "Um yeah, books are.... great"
I felt more discomfort.
I noticed his vision lead to my camera.
"So, you're into photography?" he asked.
"Yup" I said.
"Nice" he said. "Maybe you could show me one time"
"Um yeah, maybe" I said, feeling awkward.
I knew James was just trying to be friendly and making an effort but he was coming on so strong. Like the same amount as what Joe made towards me when we first met. I didn't like it with Joe and I didn't like it with James either. It was so awkward.
If I was being honest, there was no bond between me and James or anything. It was just awkward.
James's POV
I couldn't keep my eyes off her. I believed of a possible something between Ruby and I.
