Part 3: Spooning With Charlie, New Friend, Bratty Neighbor
The heat was what woke us up. If it weren't for the fact the sun was shining it's hotness on us, and possibly giving us skin cancer we would have slept until nightfall. I woke up spooning with Charlie and luckily we were the first up so nobody saw. We just stood up and and soon after that everyone else woke up. We had gotten in total about five hours of sleep and Cynthia left quickly complaining about nature and stuff.
We all went into the house and tried going back to sleep but we couldn't so went down and had breakfast. Nobody was in the mood to do anything but couldn't sleep so lets just say it was a hard morning.
I took a shower and changed into some jean shorts and a tank top. I wore my swim suit underneath since I was heading to the beach and just read.
I grabbed the book I was currently reading and put on my sandals. I grabbed my beach towel and walked out of my room. Bobby was letting Marie use his restroom and they were heading out afterwards. Dillon and Em disappeared after breakfast and so did Iris and Ethan.
I walked downstairs and grabbed my bag, that I had left in the living room, and headed to the backyard. I walked out onto the beach from the back exit and saw there were a lot of people trying to cool off. I found a spot and placed my towel and laid down comfortably. I read meanwhile families and friends splashed around in the water.
Whenever I read I zone out completely and don't pay attention to anything going on around me. I also seem to always be interrupted when reading lately. Today wasn't an exception because after about an hour of just laying on my towel and reading something hit me on the back of the head.
"I'm so sorry!"
I turned and saw a girl who was walking about nine dogs walking over to me. She looked like she was having a really hard time to not be pulled away by the dogs.
I looked at the frisbee that had hit me in the back of the head. "I'm fine." I said.
"I accidentally threw it to hard..." She said embarrassed.
I smiled. "It was an accident. I'm fine." I said.
She picked up the frisbee and accidentally let go of one of the leashes. A white fluffy dog ran towards me and started licking me. I laughed and held on to it so it wouldn't run off.
"Oops." The girl said turning pink. "I'm sorry."
I stood up and put my book in my bag managing to hold onto the dog as well. I smiled at the girl. "You look like you could use some help." I said as I put the dog down and held onto its leash.
"Oh...no! I'm fine." She said nervously.
"Would you rather be dragged by all these dogs or let a stranger help you hold onto them?" I asked.
"Thank you." She said as I took three more dog leashes. "I'm...Tilly."
I smiled. "I've never met anyone named Tilly before." I said and she turned bright pink. "But I'm pretty sure you've never met anyone named Lolly so who am I to talk. That's my name by the way. Lolly Harris." I smiled.
"I like your name." She said still a bit fidgety and nervous.
"It fits me well since I've got a huge obsession with lollipops."
"That's cool." She smiled a bit more relaxed. "Umm...I have to take these dogs back to their homes..."
"Lead the way and I'll follow." I said.
"You really don't have to help me." She said fixing her glasses.
"I've got nothing to do so why not help you. Plus you looked like you were about to be dragged down the beach by those dogs."
"If you're sure." She said and started walking.
"So how old are you Tilly?" I asked trying to start a conversation.
"Sixteen." She said. "I'm going to start my senior year this late August. How old are you?"
"I'm seventeen and graduated this year so I'm off to college or university soon." I said.
"What do you want to study?"
"No idea. I'm suppose to be using this summer to think about it."
We fell into silence and just kept walking. I could tell Tilly wasn't very social and didn't talk much to new people.
"So why do you have nine dogs?" I asked.
"I got a summer job so I have to take out these dogs for a walk for at least an hour and a half. They pay me five dollars daily so I make over three hundred dollars a week. Pretty good for a sixteen year old girl." She said as we walked off the beach.
"Sounds great." I said.
We fell into awkward silence once again.
"I like your pink hair." Tilly said as we walked down a street. "It's really bright."
"Thank you." I said.
"What book were you reading when I hit you with the frisbee?" She asked.
"Team Human." I said and her face lit up.
"Is it the book where the protagonist hates vampires and her best friend loves them?" She asked excitedly.
"Yeah. I'm really liking it so far and the humor is perfect."
"Do you already know who Kit is?" She asked.
I laughed. "Yep! I fricken love him and if it weren't for him I probably wouldn't like the book. He's so adorable and doesn't know anything about being human even though he is one. He's so innocent and funny and I fell in love with him fast. It was love at first read." I said.
"I agree completely! Kit is like a adorable little puppy who you just can't help and love." She jumped of excitement and then blushed when she realised what she had done. "Sorry. I just get really excited when I talk about books."
"I'm like that too so don't worry."

Tilly smiled but then she tuned pale and stopped walking. I looked at her confused and looked at where she was looking. A group of guys were walking down the sidewalk or way and for some reason made Tilly get really pale and a bit scared even.
"How about we cross the street and-" Tilly was cutt of though because the group of guys saw us, well her.
"Hello there Tilly." The guy who looked like he was the leader said with a smirk. "Who's your new friend? I'm guessing she doesn't know what a weirdo you are since she's hanging out with you."
I narrowed my eyes at the group of guys. If there was one thing that I hated more than Lindsay and Grapelovers it was bullies. These guys picked on Tilly just because she was shy and didn't know how to defend herself. Of course I was Lolly, I knew how it felt to be bullied but unlike Tilly I stood up for myself and didn't let my bullies get the best of me.
"Actually the only person I don't wish to ever have to speak to again is you. You're already annoying me and haven't even been standing in front of me for more than fifteen seconds." I said giving the guy a tight smile.
He looked taken back. "I see you found yourself a feisty friend here Tilly. To bad she's starting to anger me already." He smirked. "But that can all be fixed with a kiss. What do you say Pinky?" He asked me.
"No." I said. "I suggest you walk away with your ass kissers." I said looking at his friends.
"You must obviously be new to town because here everyone loves me. If I were you I would shut my mouth and let me deal with Tilly." He said. "I've told her hundred of time this is my street and poor girls like her aren't welcomed."
"And I'm telling you to leave." I said narrowing my eyes. "Now blondies!"
"You've just made it to my hate list Pinky. If you don't want me to make your life miserable just like Tilly's you should leave." He snapped.
"I'm not going anywhere." I said the turned toward the familiar group of people. "Hey guys!" I waved Marie's friends over.
"Hey Lolly!" Lucy said then glared at Tilly's bullies.
"Is there a problem here?" Pat asked looking at the guys bothering Tilly.
"No." They said at the same time I said. "Yes."
"How many times have I told you to leave Tilly alone." Ray told the guys.
"We weren't-"
"They threatened Tilly that she couldn't walk down this street." I said smiling.
"I'm telling your mom about this Max." Ray told the leader of the group. "I'm sure my aunt will he thrilled to know what you do when you're out with friends. Maybe this time they do send you away to military school."
"He's you cousin?" I asked Ray.
"Unfortunately yes." Ray said then glared at his cousin. "Go home."
The guy just glared at me and walked off. I had totally forgotten I was holding into four dog leashes if it weren't for the fact Lucy kneeled down and started petting the dogs.
"I'm sorry Tilly." Ray told her. "How many times have I told you to just tell his parents. He needs to own up to his behaviour and that'll only happen if you tell his parents."
"I'm fine." Tilly said looking down at her feet.
"Marie told us she was spending the night at your place yesterday." Sean said. "How was it?"
Ray and Tilly continued talking meanwhile Sean and I talked about how last night went. Lucy and Pat just kept petting the dogs and telling them how cute they were. I then told them all how I broke my arm and they laughed but apologised afterwards because they knew it must've hurt a ton.
Eventually Tilly and I left to take the dogs home. Marie's friends told me to hang out with them soon and I promised I would after getting back from celebrating the Fourth of July. It took us an hour to deliver all the dogs home. Tilly didn't seem to want to talk about what happened so I didn't ask.
"Where do you live?" I asked her.
She got really nervous again. "Umm...close to the beach." She said.
"Hey we might live in the same street!" I said excitedly.
"I don't think so." She said.
I looked at the time. "Well I should probably head home now. I'll give you my number and you can call me whenever you want to hang out or just talk. I'm all ears." I said as I wrote down my number on a sticky note and stuck it on her forehead.
She laughed. "Have a good Fourth of July." She said as we went our different ways.
When I reached my street the first thing I noticed was Charlie talking to his stalker, also known as our neighbour. He smiled when he saw me and I walked over noticing how unhappy the brat looked to see me.
"Hey Charlie." I said and gave him a kiss in the cheek. That caused Charlie to look extremely flustered and surprised and the little brat standing on the other side of the picket fence glare at me. "What's up?"
"What? Oh...umm...I...talk...wait what?" Charlie seemed to be having trouble speaking. He cleared his throat and looked embarrassed. "I was just talking to our neighbour. She's sorry about calling the police on you, Emilie, and Iris." He said.
"I'm sure she is." I said smiling at the girl.
"Umm...Georgia this is Lolly." He introduced me to the girl.
"Hi." She said glaring at me.
"Hello." I said smiling and just to piss the bratty girl off I leaned my head on Charlie's shoulder. She didn't like one bit that I was near him. "Well I'm tired. I was going to ask you Charlie if you wanted to play some video games but if you're busy I guess I can-"
"No! I was actually just telling Georgia that I was heading inside." Charlie smiled at me.
"No you weren't." Georgia said looking pisses that I was taking Charlie away from her.
Charlie blushed. "I was about too." He said covering up his lie.
"It was nice meeting you Georgia." I said.
She just gave me a tight smile and then Charlie and I walked away arm in arm toward the front door. I turned and looked back at the girl and stuck my tongue out. Yep, I was totally ready for college.
