If you ask Viator(1) (or Dualscar- as his nickname would be) how he he managed to come across a gold-blooded seadwelling grub, he'd have no answer to give. If you asked him why he kept the little grub hidden from the world and a decision to raise you as his own alongside his sons, you'd still be disappointed by the lack in response.
You were there, he took you in, and now you were his grub.
That's all there was to it.
So now here he was, pretending to sleep while the bored baby troll tried to wake him up in various amusing ways. First the grumbling goldblood jumped up on his desk where Dualscar had laid his head to rest his eyes after straining for hours on paperwork when you barged in, squeaking a demand for attention since your brothers Eridan and Cronus were busy. He wasn't ignoring you, as you believed- he was so exhausted he barely had the energy to give a deep sigh which you thought was a sign he was asleep.
So, since you took after three of the most adventurous trolls in Alternia, you traveled your way across the great carpeted planes of your lusus's office, scaled the drawer handles like a ladder and stood victoriously on your legs in pride when you made it.
You walked over to him and poked his cheek repeatedly. That's when he decided to have some fun and pretend to be a deep sleeper.
He let out a loud (obviously staged though you couldn't tell) snore that made you puff your gray cheeks out in anger. How dare he sleep when you had went through all that trouble? You'd wake him up as soon as you could and make him play with you until he dropped!
Then you scree'd loudly in finned ear, which simply flicked like a hoofbeast flickering off a fly (though it did take a lot out of him to not jump a bit at the loud and abrupt sound) and he muttered something unintelligible before bringing his arms up and burying his face in them, hiding his smile so you couldn't see.
You let out angry grumbles and poked the side of his head, which he still managed to stay "asleep", then you jumped on his head which didn't do much at all, considering you were small and light.
You huffed sadly and lay down on your belly with a sulky pout, giving up and accepting that you'd have to play alone today when you felt webbed hands grab you and lift you up. You stared at the double-scarred, grinning face of your lusus before making sounds of happiness and reaching for him with your two front needles.
He brought you to his face and gave you "mooches" (as Cronus called them), the stubble on his face tickling you and making you giggle.
"Thank you for wakin' me up, (lad/lass). Let's go 'ave a good ol' time together, aye?" he chuckled deeply before getting up, ignoring the protest of his body and mind screaming for more rest.
He could put off resting just a bit longer to play with his little bairn. He could always go and take a nap, but he knew you would grow up in the blink of an eye and he wanted all the memories he could make and cherish before his kids set sail on their own life adventures.

So I'm sorry if this one's lackluster but I've never written for Dualscar before and I'm not sure if I got him down pat yet. I still hope you liked it!
