1: Bellemere literally translated from french to ¨beautiful mother¨

An unwanted lowblood- that's what they called you. You were wanted by your lusus, but it was culled and you were put on the black market. You had been bought recently by a crazy blueblooded pirate lady for reasons unknown to you, and you couldn't really do anything, so she couldn't've bought you for her own convenience.

The pirate lady took you aboard her ship, ignoring the questions and greetings from her crew. As soon as she was out of their sight, she skipped like a happy schoolgirl, blue eye shining in the lanterns lighting the halls. She seemed to get giddier and giddier the closer she got to a solid oak door. She opened it without knocking and you saw, beyond your little (b/c) blanket, a beautiful young troll woman with short, messily styled hair, jade eyes cast in a heartbreaking manner and glowing pale skin with black lips. The Pirate quickly covered you with your blanket.

"Hey Bellemere~! Guess what IIIIIIIIIIIIII got for you~" the woman turned with blank eyes, her expression was heart-wrenching, as though she had lost her reason for living long ago. Mindfang brought her random trinkets and such all the time and while she appreciated the gesture, she felt numb the small spans of time when she didn't hate herself for failing her grub.

Mindfang didn't even bother waiting for a response and carefully (which vaguely shocked the Dolorosa as she was never delicate with anything) maneuvered the bundle into the pale woman's arms, leaving immediately afterwords with her mind squealing like a wriggler.

Bellemere blinked before uncovering the bundle. She stared and green tinted tears trailed down her pretty face, landing on your (chubby/thin) cheeks. So many things raced through the jadeblood's mind, things no troll her age should bear witness and torture. Her heart aching at the memory so similar to this situation; her Karine, his hopes and dreams crushed by cruelties uncalled for, her failure as a guardian- as a mother... she couldn't risk getting close to another grub only to have it ripped away from her in a cruel twist of ironic fate. She remembered in her moment of rage even unmatched by the Grand Highblood, she had called the condesce a monster, practically spitting the word like her own blood pooling in her mouth from biting her lip to stop herself from screaming. What had the heartless empress said? "But it was not I who had doomed him from the very start."

Afterwords the Virgo had completely given up on life and shut her emotions away, though sorrow frequently broke free of its prison, unlike herself. Her son's laughter and screams of pain, anger and sadness echoed in her ears every second. She had loved him so much, taking care of him throughout each sweep, protecting him and seeing him as the irreplaceable love of her life, and she failed. Her name mocked her pain(1) and tore open scabbing wounds whenever it was spoken. She had no right to call herself a mother- not when she failed her most important duty.

You squeaked softly, nudging her chin in comfort as empathetic (b/c) tears dotted you (b/c) eyes.

She gave a quivering smile and gently nuzzled your faces together. But what else could she do? Mindfang couldn't care for a child; she make you walk the flatstick if you woke her crying. The shiphands couldn't care for you, she was the only choice you had to live. Maybe... just maybe, she could do it this time and learn from her horrid mistakes and gross negligence. Maybe she could atone for her failure.

You let out a giggle and placed an appendage against her button-like nose. "(name)..." she murmured softly, you looked at her with wide eyes in confusion. She smiled lovingly, already feeling familiar maternal affection swell in her chest. She kissed your forehead softly and let tears of varying emotions trail down her florescent cheeks.

¨For your sake.. I can... maybe try just one more time... and perhaps, in return, you could save me from myself.¨
