Carl's P.O.V

After Emma left Emily and Taylor started driving me crazy. I decided I'd roam the halls, make sure everyone is okay. It was silent aside from one person, Hershel. He was going outside. I was determined to go with him. I can't just let him go out there on his own. I have my gun. If he gets into trouble I can help him. We head out into the woods and he begins picking berries off of plants.

I decided to strike conversation with Hershel.

"Will you do me a favor?" I asked.

"That depends, what is it?" He replied.

"Well, Emma just went in. If anything changes will you please let me know?" I asked.

Hershel nodded and things went silent for a while.

"With the way things have been the past few days, we might be safer outside those walls than in." Hershel said.

I heard something which sounded like a walker and said, "No, we're not."

We headed off towards the sound and I had my gun that Dad had given back. He hadn't gave Emma hers back yet though.

Theres a run down tent and a walker stuck underneath a branch.

"Lets wrap this up." Hershel said right before another walker began coming our way. This one was free besides the bear trap on its leg.

I raised my gun to it and intended to shoot but Hershel stopped me.

"Don't. You don't need to." He said.

I lowered my gun and walked away.

"It was so peaceful." He added.

"It was. Can't be like that all the time." I retorted.

Emma's P.O.V

I found where Glenn was, finally. Its kinda sad I didn't check the cell right next to me. Thats where he was.

He looked horrible.

"Hey Glenn." I said.

"Hey, what're you doing in here?" He asked.

"I've got it too." I said.

"You don't seem as bad off as others though." Glenn said weakly, yet skeptical.

"Fine, I faked it. Hershel needs more help, especially since Dr.S is sick." I said.

"You're a kid. Do you know how dumb it was for you to come in here?" He asked.

"Exactly, I'm a kid. I can stay up for a long time, due to the fact that I'm young and for the most part full of energy. Besides, maybe I can pick up a few things that in here, that could be useful later on, just in case. There's so many people in here, it's important we all stick together and help one another get better. My dad, Michonne, Bob, and Tyreese should be leaving for a cure real soon. Either way, I'm not allowed to leave now, I've already been exposed to it." I said.

Glenn sighed weakly.

"Glenn, I'm sorry." I said.

"What're you sorry for?" He asked.

"I don't know, I just felt the need to apologize. I feel like I've treated you badly." I said.

"Well you haven't, besides lying to me. But I know the truth." He said, jokingly.

"What have I lied to you about?" I questioned.

"Carl." He said.

"What're you talking about?" I asked already knowing the answer.

"You told me you didn't like him." He said.

"Oh my god." I laughed. "You're still caught up on that? That was back at the farm!"

"Yes, because I know the truth." He said jokingly.

"Well how can I make up for it?" I joked along.

"Tell me the truth." He said.

"Y'know, for a sick guy, you're still a butthole." I said.

"I know, but so are you. So, truth. Now." He said.

"Wait, what were we talking about again?" I asked trying to avoid it.

He glared at me, unamused.

"Fine. You were right." I said.

"Wait, you like Carl?" He said.

I nodded. "Isn't that what you wanted to hear?" I asked.

"To be honest, I expected you to keep denying it. I thought it was funny how worked up you got when I picked on you about it." He said.

"Oh. Whoops." I said.

He chuckled. "So, lets talk about something else." He suggested.

"Okay, like what?" I asked.

"Like, you and Emily." He said.

"If you're gonna lecture me about punching her I'm leaving." I said.

"No, I want to know everything that has happened between you two." He said.

Carol's P.O.V

I ran into Hershel, and he gave me strict instructions to go tell Daryl that Emma has it. Whatever this horrible sickness may be, so many of our people have it.

Daryl's P.O.V

We still haven't left yet.

Waiting on a few things then we can go.

Carol came up to me.

"Daryl, Emma has it." She said.

I looked at her, terrified.

"Emma has this thing?" I asked not wanting to believe it.

She nodded.

I took off running. I needed to get inside. I needed to see Emma.

I got to the cell block and knocked on the door. Sasha appeared in the window, she looked warn out by whatever this thing was.

"Tell Emma to go to the interrogation room." I said hoping she understood what I was saying.

She disappeared from the window and I walked over to the window of the room.

Emma walked into the room, there was a window separating us. She had one of my bandanas covering her nose and mouth.

"Hey Kiddo, how're you feeling?" I asked her.

"I'm fine. I'm not sick." She whispered.

"Why do you mean?" He asked.

"I faked a few of the symptoms to get in here." Emma whispered once more.

It was great hearing this. She doesn't have it.

"We need to get you outta there." I said.

"Dad, no. I've already been exposed to it. This way I can help keep these people alive. Dr. S. is sick, that leaves Hershel. With me not being sick, I can help... maybe even prove that I can pull my weight around here, I get treated like a child still and I'm sick of it, not necessarily by you, but theres things I haven't been able to help with because of that." She said.

"Emma, you can't stay in there." I argued.

"Dad, I'll be fine. I've already been exposed. I can't risk getting anyone else sick. With every virus theres a few people who are immune. Maybe I'm immune and I wont get it. I'm okay for right now. Don't worry." She said.

"Okay. You stay safe Kiddo. I'll be back soon with the meds, I love you." I ended.

"I love you too, dad." She replied.

Emma's P.O.V

When I left the, what used to be, interrogation room I went out to find Hershel.

"I'll help too." I began.

"No, you're sick too." He replied blankly.

"No, I don't have it." I replied.

Hershel felt my forehead.

"You don't even have a fever." Hershel said.

I raised my hand to my own head.

"Why'd you come in here?" He asked.

"I faked a few of the symptoms to get in, I knew you guys needed more help in here, I decided I'd risk myself to keep these people alive, plus, my dad and the others will be back with the meds soon enough." I said.

Hershel chuckled and shook his head in disbelief.

I smiled. "Then you and I are gonna make sure that all these people stay alive until my dad and the others get back." I said.

Hershel smiled.

"Now, c'mon, lets get to it." I said enthusiastically.

Hershel made some tea his wife used to make from the berries he had gotten. He taught me how to make it too. While he was out delivering it to our 'patients' I was making the tea.

Hershel told me I made it just as his wife did. He even said I gave her a run for her money.

Thanks to Hershel and I, these people might actually survive.

Rick's P.O.V

I watched as Carol carried two buckets of water passed me. I decided I'd spark conversation.

I walked down to where she was standing.

"You know, you do a lot for us, for the kids. You sacrifice a lot. Is there anything you wouldn't do for the people here?" I said.

"No." She said as she shook her head.

I nodded and she walked off.

"Carol..?" I began once more, "Did you kill Karen and David?"

"Yes." She said before walking away.

------NEXT DAY-----

I was preparing Shane's old car for Carol and I to go on our run.

I'm not having her come back with me, not after what she did to Karen and David. II'll be sure she has enough supplies to get her started.

As of right now, she thinks we're only going out to get supplies because we lost them. Which, we are getting supplies, she just can't come back with me.

Daryl's P.O.V

We lost a whole night, after getting stuck in the walkers yesterday we decided it'd be best to take a break for the night.

I overheard Bob and Tyreese talking.

"Ty!" Bob shouted. "There should be a town a few miles south."

"Lost a whole night. My sister, everybody else... They're probably dead." Tyreese retorted.

Emma's included in that 'everybody else'. Even if she's not sick, it's still a risk. And I know for a fact, if she's risking herself like that, she will do everything in her power to make sure everyone survives. She wouldn't let anyone die that doesn't need to. That girl has survived too much to be taken out by some glorified cold, or some dead pricks.

"Well, it helps to keep moving." Bob replied.

"No, it doesn't." Tyreese said.

Emma's P.O.V

There hasn't been any deaths yet. All these people just might be saved, if dad and the others get back soon, that is.

Rick's P.O.V

I instructed Carol to only get things that could help Hershel, things that you'd find in first aid kits or medicine cabinets, or things we can eat.

Daryl's P.O.V

We've been looking for a car all day, and found one. Its a mini van, but its good enough for the four of us. Its right by a car shop and gas station.

Inside the shop, theres a group of people who killed themselves by drinking anti-freeze.

If Tyreese isn't careful, he's gonna end up getting himself killed. I know that what happened to Karen must be hard for him, then having to deal with Sasha being sick. He's raging, he's risking his life all too often recently. He needs to be careful.  As of right now, this virus is killing people. Our people. We need to get these medicines back for them, and as fast as we can.

The car we found, I had to hot wire. There were no keys inside.

After the car wouldn't start, I realized that we need to find a new battery, so I told everyone and we were faced with our newest challenge.

Carl's P.O.V

I checked in on Beth and Judith today.

I was just talking with Beth.

"How are you doing Carl?" Beth asked.

"I'm okay. How about you?" I asked.

"I'm okay. Either way, we don't get to be upset anymore, we all got jobs to do. So, I just focus on my job." Beth said.

I didn't really know how to respond after that so I just sat in front of the door.

"Maggie told me Emma got it." Beth said.

I sighed. "Yeah, but I know she'll be okay." I said.

"She will be. Maggie also told me that she's been a big help to my dad. Dr. S. got sick so now those two are the only ones in there taking care of everyone." She said.

"Thats Emma for you, she's not resting like she should be, just worried about everyone else." I said.

Beth laughed because she knows its true.

"I'm sorry, I should probably be getting back to the quarantine room." I said.

"It's okay." She said.

I stood up and walked back.

Hershel's P.O.V

Maggie and I were talking at the interrogation room, again, the glass separating us.

"How are you doing, daddy?" Maggie asked me.

"I'm actually doing okay. So far no one has died. I wouldn't have such good news to report if it weren't for the help of Emma. She got sent in and she's not even sick. She's been a huge help though." I responded.

Maggie smiled at me.

I then thought of Carl, he asked me to tell him if anything changed.

"Will you do me a favor?" I asked.

"Sure, whatever you need." Maggie replied.

"Can you tell Carl that Emma isn't actually sick?" I asked.

She nodded.

"Stay safe in there. I love you." She said before getting up and walking out.

"I love you too." I said right as she walked out.

Carl's P.O.V

I got back to the quarantine room.

I heard coughing from the outside.

When I walked in I realized both Emily and Taylor were sick.

"You two need to get to the cell block." I said.

"We'd be fine if that stupid slut didn't come in here with all her diseases." Emily retorted.

"Just go." I said.

They both got up and headed for the exit. Taylor had one last thing to say before she left.

"Looks like loverboy is getting pissy." She said as she walked out.

I didn't even respond to her. I just let her leave.

Now I'm the only 'kid' not sick now.

I was just sitting here, I wasn't doing anything, I wasn't even thinking.

Then there was a knock at the door.

I opened the door to see Maggie.

"Carl, Emma's not sick." She said.

"What do you mean?" I asked in disbelief.

"She's okay, there must've been a misunderstanding or something." Maggie replied.

I ran out of the room and began heading for the Cell Block, looking for Emma. If she's not sick she doesn't need to be in there.

"Carl. Stop!" Maggie shouted just as I was about to turn the corner.

"What?" I said.

"She's gotta stay in there, and you gotta stay away from there." Maggie said.

"But she's okay. Why does she have to stay in there?" I asked with a bit of rudeness in my voice.

"She's been exposed to it already. She can't come out until the medicine gets here." Maggie replied.

"Its all my fault she's in there." I said.

"Don't think like that Carl, she's okay for now. She's helping out in there, keeping everyone alive. She's helping my dad, he wouldn't be able to do it on his own. He's one man." Maggie said.

I nodded and walked back to the quarantine room.

Emma's P.O.V

There was a knock at the door, Hershel got it. I peeked around him to see my mom standing there look terribly sick.
