I am posting this update on February 15th, 2018, only 21 hours after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting where 17 people were murdered and much more injured. This marks the 18th school shooting so far in 2018. This all occurred in just 46 days. If you actually look on the internet you can find videos people filmed while the shooting was going on. You can hear clear as day students screaming in fear as they hid under their desks. A student even took a picture of a laptop with bullet holes in it. From my knowledge, this has been the deadliest school shooting to occur in the US so far this year.

School Shootings so far in 2018:

- Jan. 3rd St Johns, Mich. A 31-year-old man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the schools' parking lot.

- Jan. 10th, Sierra Vista, Ariz. A teen was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a Coronado Elementary School bathroom.

- Jan. 15th, Marshall, TX. Gunshots rang out on the Wiley College Campus. A bullet went through a residential hall's dorm room. No injuries were reported.

- Jan. 20th, Winston-Salem, NC. A Winston-Salem University football player was shot and killed at am event at Wake Forest University.

- Jan. 22nd, Italy, TX. A teenage girl was wounded at Italy High School after a 16-year-old suspect opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun.

- Jan. 22nd, Gentilly, La. A shooting outside the NET Charter High School injured a 14-year-old boy.

- Jan. 23rd, Benton, Ky. Two people were killed and another 15 were shot at Marshall County High School.

- Jan. 25th, Mobile, Ala. Murphy High School student Jonah Neal fired a gun on campus. No one was injured.

Jan. 31st, Pa. Gunshots erupted as a fight broke out outside of Lincoln High School. A 32-year-old man was shot twice and later pronounced dead.

- Feb. 1st, Los Angeles, Calif. An accidental shooting injured five children at the Salvador B. Castro Middle School in downtown Los Angeles.

- Feb. 5th, Oxon, Md. A teen was shot outside of Oxon High School. The victim survived.

- Feb. 5th, Maplewood, Minn. A third-grader pulled the trigger on a cop's gun, firing a shot at the Harmony Learning Center. No one was injured.

- Feb. 8th, New York, NY. A teen was taken into custody after a shot was fired inside Metropolitan High School. No one was injured.

- Feb. 14th, Broward County, Fla. A former student killed 17 people at Stoneman Douglas High.

(All school facts from Tumblr. I didn't come up with them or gave random details.)

This is an outrage. Students and staff had been killed in just 46 day.

GUN CONTROL:

90 people on average are killed each day by a gun. We need to inforce gun control because who knows what school will be next. It's just as easy to buy a gun as it is to buy groceries and cigarettes. With cigarettes, teenagers send someone old enough to purchase them at the counter and all they need is to show ID. There should be clear background checks. Of course, check ID. A week of background checks until the customer can bring home the gun. Don't sell assault weapons. Assault weapons were made to kill people and shouldn't be available for purchase. Keep your eyes open and watch out because the world is becoming a very dangerous place. We shouldn't have to worry about going to school or sending our children to school with the fear that they may never come home. We go to school for an education. Not to fear about the unknown. Please, spread awareness about the dangers of weapons and let's work to inforce gun control. We need it.

"It was appallingly easy for a 17-year-old boy to
buy guns, both legally and illegally; without my
permission or knowledge. And somehow 17 years
later it's still appallingly easy."

-Sue Klebold, 2016 (Mother of Columbine
shooter Dylan Klebold)
