Tattooed Truth
"You better not run of" Nathan said leaning casually against the doorframe of his room. It was late and I had finally convinced him to let me go back to my dorm. I needed my space and the funny thing was I think he understood that.
This whole mate thing made no sense and I feel like the more I ignore and deny it, it's going to build up more and more and soon I'm just going to explode.
"Because you can run but you can't hide" Nathan sang
"Hm" I said making a face, turning around about to head for my dorm but I stopped myself in my tracks and turned back round "One last thing ..."
Nathan raised his eyebrows in question
"You bit me" I stated
"Correct" Nathan smiled running his tongue over his lower lip
"Doesn't that usually mean ..." I hesitated expecting him to get the gist- he didn't "Am I vampire now?" I sighed
"Why, do you want to be?" Nathan smirked
I let out a frustrated growl and he laughed
"Ugh, can you just tell me please" I scowled resisting the childish urge to stamp my foot
"Look, yes if I was a ordinary Vampire and you weren't my mate then of course you'd be growing some healthy milk fangs right about now" He said passively "but what vampire am I?"
"A really horrible one" I grumbled
His cocky smile was only there to antagonize me and it was shamefully working
"No Lailah, you might of forgotten but I'm royalty which there for means are ways of doing things are a little ..." He seemed to searching for the right word and as soon as his eyes locked with mine he found it "different"
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked
Nathan just smiled stepping forward and I instantly shy'd away "See you later little one" his lips connected with my forehead and my eyes closed in response making me forget whatever we were talking about before this.

The look on Colette's face as I walked through the dorm room door was picture perfect.
"Lailah!" She screamed jumping out of her desk chair before tackling me into a hug "I was so worried!"
No matter how squeezing the hug was I returned it with as much force as Colette because I to was so worried about her too.
Pulling away Colette turned angry, like I knew she would ...
"Don't ever do that to me again!" She said slapping my arm "it's not fun Lailah, waiting up all hours waiting for your return, all night and day you've been gone! Where have you been?!"
"Ouch!" I complained shoving her of me with a warning look "stop it Colette"
"Well where have you been?!" Colette exclaimed "the boys have all skipped class to go on a hunt for you! We all thought Mr Waters had killed you for god sake!"
"Right" I almost laughed which did nothing to help Colette's anger and decided now would be the best time to put my lie into place "look Colette after I had the little talk with Sir, I decided to go back into town and crash in at that little hotel because you know ..." The look Colette was giving me was dangerous, her eyes were drawn to the Nathan's scarf that was wrapped around my neck covering the stupid mark he had given me. Plus, Nathan has a scarf?
"What's with the scarf?" Colette said eyebrows raised
Kill me now
"It's a scarf I got in the sale today?" I offered but she wasn't having it
"Oh really, can I try it on?" Colette said holding her hand out
"Um ..." I squeaked jumping back as she unexpectedly makes a grab for the scarf
"Take it of" Colette glared running for me
"No Colette!" I ran, jumping on top of my bed away from her
"Lailah" Colette warned "I'm really sorry but it has to be done"
I screamed as she charges for me, making a huge leap before tackling me to the bed.
"Holy f*cking God, you're heavy" I yelled trying to flip her of but by that time she had already got hold of the scarf and was pulling if from my neck
I attempted to snatch it back but by that time Colette was having none of it and pulled it fully from my neck "Oh f*ck" Colette breathed
I caught her expression and winced at the judgement
"A tattoo?" Colette said and then to my surprise actually laughed
Like actually what?
"A tattoo seriously?" She laughed again as she hopped of me and I sat up in confusion
"Oh my god I'm so relieved!" She gasped holding a hand to her heart "I thought mr pervert-prince had bitten you or something"
"Oh ..." I whispered but what really wanted to do was swear really loudly instead
"Come on then what does this mean?" Colette jokes and before I can even attempt to answer she pulls out her phone "hang on I'll google translate it!"
Well she was going to have to find out someday, a voice said in the back of the mind
But why did it have to be today?
" res hostium in principis regalibus
" Colette read out poorly of my neck "and, translate!"
I buried my face in my hands, this is terrible
I heard Colette's hesitation before I looked up at her mortified face
"Lailah what the hell is this?" She said thrusting her phone in my face "Why the hell do you have a tattoo saying this!"
I shook my head looking down at my shoes
"Lailah answer me!" Colette demanded
"It's not a tattoo!" I shouted pulling my hands out of my hands
"What are you talking about?" She said taking the seat next to me on the bed
"It's a mark" I sneered bitterly "it comes along with being Soulmate's with a Royal Vampire"
Colette was eyeing me funny and I just decided it was time, time to spill my poor confused heart out onto a non expecting friend.
So that's what I did, I told Colette everything up to when it started to where we left it. It felt good to get it of my chest but I was afraid of her reaction to me lying and most of all I was afraid she would hate me for being Soulmate's with a species we both hate but I was stupid to even worry. She understood I couldn't control fate or whoever it was who decided me and Nathan should be 'destined' whoever it was should give up the day job because there terrible at matches.
"You should of told me sooner Lailah, I could of helped you" Colette said. We both sat on the floor of our dorm room under both of our blankets eating a whole into Colette's secret stash of sweets
"I know I should've-" I was cut of from the ringing of Colette's Phone
She reached across and read the ID "It's William ..."
"What are we going to do?" I squeaked "we can not tell them anything, please Colette"
Colette patted my shoulder standing up "I've got this Lala don't you worry"
It was an odd feeling for Colette to take over the situation, normally it's always me putting on the brave face and Colette cowering over in the corner when we find a spider in the room. But it was nice just for the stress to be pulled of my shoulders, even if it only is for a short while.

Ok I updated ASAP for you people, hope it wasn't lame ;)
And I hope things are going to be moving along now, after this chapter the books going to be picking up a bit, as I have tons of ideas for this story and let me just tell you, ya'll are in for a treat :D
