Saturday Night

Y/N'S POV

My stomach growled loudly as I laid back on the couch. I groaned because I knew I had absolutely nothing to eat here so that meant I had to go get something. I stayed on the couch to see if I could stick it out but eventually I had to get up since my stomach wouldn't stop growling. I threw on some shoes and a hoodie before grabbing my keys and shit. I left the TV on as I walked past it to make my way out of the house. I locked the door behind me and went to get into my car.

Although when I was in the car and it was started, I sat there thinking about where I was going to go. For some reason nothing sounded good to me. I looked on my phone for some ideas as the Bluetooth connected to the radio and soft music played throughout the car. Finally I came across a restaurant that seemed good enough to eat at. I finally set my phone down and started driving towards the restaurant.

It was a fairly nice sandwich restaurant even though it was very small. It was really welcoming and homey, creating a warm feeling. As I walked inside I was greeted by the workers and a very old woman which was waiting for me at the counter. "What can I get you today, hun?" She asked. I did a quick survey of the menu after asking for another second. Thinking I've already taken too long I just settled for trying to make my own sandwich.

"Can I just get ham and turkey on sourdough with Swiss." When she had gotten that far I went down the line putting what I wanted on there. The sandwich ended up coming out with some lettuce, mayo and mustard, jalapeños, avocado, and some random shakers and shit. I was hoping it tasted pretty good. I ordered chips and a drink before paying and going to sit down at a booth towards the back.

There was barely anyone else in the restaurant so it was really quiet as I ate. I took out my phone and browsed around mindlessly. I saved my chips for last so when I was done with the sandwich I just smacked on those. I glanced at the top of my phone to see it was nearing nine o'clock at night so I figured I would leave to let the restaurant close. I walked out of the restaurant as the lady said her goodbye's. I made my way to my car but I could faintly hear the sounds of someone sobbing.

I stuck my keys back in my pocket as I walked around to the side of the building. There was a figure sitting down on the ground with their back against the building, their knees drawn up to their chest as their head rested on their crossed arms. The closer I got the more familiar the raven hair looked. When I was there I kneeled down next to the figure and placed my hand on their shoulder. When their head snapped up and green eyes met mine I knew my accusations were correct. "Lauren what's wrong?" I asked quietly.

The smaller girl cowered away from my gaze. She furiously wiped her eyes before crossing her arms again. It didn't take long for her to burst out into tears once again. I took a chance and sat down next to her, softly pulling her into my chest. I was pleasantly surprised when Lauren clutched onto my torso but then it sucked that she was still sobbing. I softly scratched her scalp as her head leaned in the junction of where my neck met my shoulder. Several minutes later she calmed down but she was still crying. "What happened?"

"I don't want to talk about it right now." Lauren brokenly whispered. "I was trying to find Dinah's house since it's over here but I can't find it." She continued wiping her eyes only for more tears to take their place.

"It's okay, it's okay Lauren." I rocked us slightly back and forth. "Do you need me to take you back home?" I asked. Lauren quickly shot up, the top of her head nearly clipping the side of my jaw, while she shook her head in a rapid manner.

"No!" She all but screamed. I jumped slightly but she immediately started sputtering. "I can't- I can't go back. At least not right now- I can't." She kept going on. I slowly stood up, effectively cutting Lauren off. She stopped herself once she saw my outstretched hand. Her green eyes darted in between my own eyes and my hand. Hesitantly she placed her cold hand in mine and I helped her to stand up before she stumbled back into my chest.

I held her there for a while as she shyly looked up, her long eyelashes making a prominent display. I cleared my throat before unwillingly tearing my gaze away from hers. I stepped back by kept a good hold on her hand as I led her back to my car. Lauren would sniffle every once in a while but for the most part she was good. "Where are we going?" Her voice came out hoarse yet quiet.

"Since you can't go back home, and we can't find Dinah's house, I figured we would just go back to my place." I knew Lauren was going to immediately start protesting so I cut her off before she could. "It's fine, I don't mind, and nothing you say will change that. I insist." I said. Lauren finally gave in with a small nod. I smirked triumphantly to myself.

The drive to my house was quiet. I took this as an advantage to try to get Lauren to talk to me but now I was realizing that it might not be the best idea. This isn't something teachers do and I already tried to convince myself that I wouldn't overstep my boundaries anymore. But we see how long that lasted. Eventually I pulled into my driveway and helped Lauren out of the car. She walked in front of me until we reached the door, where she stepped to the side to allow me to unlock it.

When it was open I motioned for Lauren to go in first. She walked slowly into the house, almost timidly. However when she was inside she allowed herself to look around at the furniture and decorations. Amazement quickly filled her eyes and her mouth opened slightly in adoration. I couldn't help but let a smile take over my face at her expression, she just looked so fucking cute.

"I'm guessing you took these?" She asked quietly as she pointed towards the pictures on the walls. I nodded my head so she immediately looked back at them with newfound wonder. I had nothing else to decorate the walls except for the pictures that I took so I thought why not just put them up.

"Lauren how long have you been out of your house tonight?" I asked cautiously. The younger girl turned around to face me slowly as her eyes avoided mine as long as they could. She shrugged her shoulders before trying to look at the photos again. "Tell me." I demanded. Lauren gave in with a sigh as she leaned her head against the wall.

"Pretty much all night." She whispered. "And most of the afternoon." The longer she talked the more quiet her voice had gone. I figured it had something to do with her family life so the thought had my blood boiling subconsciously. I nodded my head as I walked past the smaller girl into the living room.

Soon enough Lauren slowly made her way into the same room as she was surveying the rest of my house. My eyes trailed up her from to see her in some pants and a hoodie. Before I could stop to think about it words were already flying out of my mouth. "Do you want me to get you some spare clothes to change into?" I blurted out. Lauren's eyes snapped towards mine and a small blush covered her face to the point where it kept intensifying, more covering her face.

"No I'm okay, thank you." She admitted softly. I stood up already making my way towards my room despite her answer. I shuffled around the room do something she could wear and eventually came up with some sweats and a big t-shirt if she wanted it. I walked back out of the room to see Lauren awkwardly standing there with her fingers interlaced in front of her. I held out the clothes to her.

"Please Lauren." I begged quietly. The shorter girl looked into my eyes before taking the clothes from my hand. She lingered her fingers against mine as she did so, asking for a bathroom right after. "Down the hall, the only door on the right." I said. Lauren nodded and dropped her head before slowly walking there. When she was out of sight I walked back into my room and discarded of my hoodie, leaving me in a plain black v-neck to match my black sweats. I took off my shoes and placed them by my closet before heading back out into the kitchen.

While Lauren was still in the bathroom I ordered a pizza so she could eat. When that was settled I heard the bathroom door open so I grabbed two water bottles out of the fridge. I made my way back into the living room to see Lauren holding her clothes to her chest, her deciding to wear all of the clothes I offered. I set down the water bottles on the coffee table before walking up to Lauren and holding out my hands. "I'll set them down."

Lauren blushed before handing me her clothes. I went into my room to set them down on the foot of the bed before returning to the living room. The shorter girl was still standing there awkwardly as her eyes danced around the walls. "You can sit down Lauren." I offered, pointing to the couch. Lauren blushed once more before going to sit.

I went over and handed her the remote for the TV. "I ordered pizza for you, it should be here in about half an hour." I sat down on the other side of the couch as I took my water. Lauren quickly interjected but I just smiled at her. "It's okay. I bet you haven't eaten." I shrugged my shoulders.

The green eyed girl sighed in defeat. "Fine, but you can pick what we watch. I'm okay with whatever." Her voice was still shy and quiet. I pushed the remote back towards her body while shaking her head, a smile on my face.

"You're the guest. It's fine." I could tell Lauren wanted to argue but she eventually just let the remote drop onto her thigh. Some late night paid program was on meaning it was completely worthless to try to watch TV. I chuckled to myself at the game Lauren was playing.

I leaned forward to grab my water bottle and took a swig out of it. I raised and eyebrow as Lauren looked away from my face with a blush on hers. "Why do you always do that?" I asked as I set my water back down on the table. Since I was close enough I grabbed the other bottle and offered it to Lauren but she shook her head.

"I'm good." She said. She fumbled with her fingers in her lap as she brought up her legs onto the couch. I shrugged my shoulders before leaning against the couch once more. I turned slightly and brought my left leg up as if I were criss crossing my legs but I left my right foot on the ground. Lauren took her time to try to formulate a thought in her head. "I don't know, I just find you really attractive."

The shorter girl hid her face so I couldn't see the blush I already knew was forming. I smiled to myself at her words and at how cute she was. "Well then I'd just have to say that you're the most beautiful girl I've ever laid my eyes on." Times like these made me wish I had some type of filter because I was stepping more and more out of line every time I opened my mouth to speak. But apparently Lauren didn't seem to mind as she shyly smiled. It was known she was blushing. There was a knock on the door signaling the pizza was here so I paid the guy and set it on the table. Lauren didn't reach for any before shaking her head so I just shrugged and took a piece for myself.

I so desperately wanted to talk about what we were going to do but I didn't want to push her into talking. "Y/N why did you want to become a photography teacher? Or why did you get into photography in the first place?" Lauren mumbled. I took a deep breath in, having to think about my answer. I hummed to fill the silence as I did so.

"I don't know, I couldn't really tell you anything about the teacher part, I was just suckered into doing it since they knew I was in the program when I was in high school." I shook my head with a laugh. "As for getting into it, I always found that shit really interesting so I thought I'd sign up for the class. I actually remember they had us go into the high school as eighth graders to see what classes were offered and that was the first class I went in to. I just loved the atmosphere and all the equipment so when I took the class I knew I just had to keep going with it." I shrugged. Lauren watched me in fascination while scooting forward a little bit.

A smile formed on my face. "Tell me about yourself Lauren. How did you get into it? You've been with it all four years, no?" I asked. Lauren eagerly nodded her head and right away I could see the passion that was practically leaking from her body. She perked up in her seat before she began talking.

"Yeah I'm pretty much the same way, it's just always interested me. I've gotten to the point in my life where I just want to try everything and when I did I fell in love with it. I kind of just stopped trying other things and just stuck to photography." Her hands moved in different motions while she talked. I leaned my elbow on the back of the couch and held up my head with my hand as I watched the green eyed girl talk about her passion.

It was actually really interesting to see the way she completely rose out of her bad mood when photography was brought up, it must really be important to her. I watched with a smile on my face while Lauren ranted about how much she loved taking pictures and what made it special to her. By now our knees were touching slightly but I tried to not let that deter me.

"Y/N." Lauren trailed off, catching my attention. I hummed to let her know I was listening. "How done you told me you never liked being a subject? Because when I was at the studio Ally told me you volunteer to be a subject all the time."

I chuckled softly to myself. "It's not that I volunteer there, I'm just at the right place at the right time I guess. And it's not really that I don't like being a subject for you, that was just some bullshit I said that day so you wouldn't take a picture of me." I sensed Lauren's confusion and even a little bit of hurt. "Wait that's not what I meant. I meant it as like before everything that happened I was pretty nervous to be around you."

Lauren blushed but her face kept its hold on a confused expression. "Why would you be nervous around me?" She asked quietly. I adjusted myself on the couch so the left side of my face was pushed up and squished slightly. I shrugged my opposite shoulder leaving the lopsided smile on my face.

"Because like I've said Lauren, you're fucking beautiful. Even though all I want is to be around you I've just always been nervous. I don't want to embarrass myself or anything." I laughed. Instead of hiding her face away from me like I expected, Lauren kept staring into my eyes. Even though there was the tint of a blush on her cheeks her green orbs stuck right with my own eyes.

"Y/N." She breathed out. I kept staring at her until I felt her hand on my cheek. Before I could react the shorter girl had already connected our lips, wrapping her legs around my waist as she went to straddle my lap. I placed my hands on Lauren's hips as her arms wrapped around my neck as well. I hummed in surprise when she did, not expecting her to do that with her shyness.

Lauren tilted her head as the kiss intensified. I tightened my arms around her waist to leave no space between us. The green eyed girl tugged on my hair when I bit down on her lip, a gasp escaping her. She moved her hands to cup both of my cheeks when I did it again, Lauren pulling away as I kept her bottom lip trapped in between my teeth. We were both breathing heavily as I released it, our faces still very much close together and our eyes locked into one another. Lauren dropped her hands onto my shoulders but she kept stroking my jaw slightly.

My mouth twitched up into a subconscious yet dopey smile. Lauren kissed me one last time before sitting back. Her own mouth curved into a smile but she looked down and took a deep breath. "I really do want this, Y/N." She started off quietly. I rubbed her back soothingly to help her try to get it out. "But I-I've never done this so I don't know what I'm doing. And I know everything that can go wrong but I really want to be with you." She blushed.

"I want this too Lauren, and you don't have to worry about anything. I'll take care of it, okay? I just need you to trust me. If anything happens, it's on me." I whispered. Lauren shook her head but I held up my hand to stop her protesting. "Trust me, okay?" Lauren finally gave in and nodded her head. "Now that that's out of the way, do you want to tell me what happened earlier and why I found you out on the street?"

Lauren sighed before dropping her hands off of my shoulders so she could fumble with them in her lap. "I um- I..." She trailed off. I was about to tell her she didn't have to tell me but she started talking again, effectively cutting me off. "My dad kind of uh, kicked me out." She mumbled.

"What?" I raised my voice but Lauren placed her hands on my cheeks. "Are you fucking kidding me, Lauren? He can't do that!" The shorter girl shook her head but stopped me from ranting even more. I wasn't complaining at all either. My words were cut short as Lauren slammed her lips against mine in a hard kiss. I was left in a daze with my eyes closed when she pulled away.

"Be quiet." She pointed at me. I nodded my head, still out of it as she continued telling me what happened. "I don't know how he found out, but apparently he did see that I was attracted to girls. He said that it's not acceptable in that household so he told me to leave. I tried to find Dinah but we know where that led me and you know the rest." Lauren mumbled bitterly.

I clenched my jaw in anger as I looked at the TV. There was no point but I just had to calm down somehow. I soon felt soft pecks being peppered around my neck as Lauren hugged herself even closer to my body. I sighed as I leaned my head against her shoulder. "I know this is way out of line but if you ever need anywhere to stay, please don't hesitate to ask me. The last thing I want for you is to be living on the street or even moving house to house. I just want you to be okay." I lifted my head back up to face the green eyed girl.

Lauren smiled at me while nodding her head. I sighed again. After a couple minutes of just sitting there, Lauren laid her head on my shoulder as her forehead rested on my neck. I leaned my head against hers while making myself comfortable, moving us in a laying position. I rubbed Lauren's back comfortably as she shifted to where she was laying down, practically on top of me. When I heard soft snores, I leaned back and looked down to see Lauren peacefully sleeping. I smiled to myself before studying her features.

My eyes trailed across the lines of her face, taking in everything from the tiny freckles all the way to the plumpness of her lips which were still slightly reddened. Soft snores came out of her mouth and I internally awed. As quickly as I could, I stood up with Lauren still clinging onto me. I walked us into my room before I set her down on the bed, pulling the covers up to her shoulders. I kissed her on the forehead before grabbing a pillow and making my way back out to the living room. "Y/N?" Lauren's groggy voice called out.

I hummed and walked back to face her, kneeling down. "Can you stay with me please?" This was not the same girl at all. This one wasn't confident and sexy. Okay she still was but that's besides the point. The one laying in my bed right now was vulnerable as all hell, acting as if someone just kicked her puppy. Her sleepy eyes searched mine in the dark and I couldn't help but nod at her request. The younger girl allowed me to put my pillow back and get under the covers before she clung onto me once more.

Lauren nuzzled her face into my neck, her soft breathing hitting the skin and causing a slight tickle. I didn't mind though, it felt nice to finally fall asleep with her in my arms. Despite the circumstances I'm glad her dad kicked her out, because if he didn't then we wouldn't be working it out together and I wouldn't be falling asleep with the girl of my dreams in my arms.
