Ok guys this here is chapter one of my new Poofless book. I already have three chapters up as of right now and I am almost finished with my Jerome FF for Adopted. Feel free to check either of them out but once I have finished Adopted the next original FF will be a Sidemen one. Promise.
Rob's POV
Another day, another grind. More videos to get done and then afterwards I can relax at home and do my own thing until work tonight. I know Preston doesn't mind but, Maybe I could do some more work here?
Preston: "NO LACHLAN WHY!"
Hearing him having a fake moment at his friend was a sure sign that today was going to be a busy day and I can't wait.
Raquel: "Hey Rob, You're here early."
Rob: "Oh hey Raquel. Yeah thought I'd get in and get to work on that factions series he has had for a while. It hasn't been touched for a week. Thought if it won't get done I can do it in my spare time."
Raquel: "Getting on top of things? I didn't even know he had a faction series."
Rob: "It's only 4 episodes long."
I winked at her as she giggled to me, though I knew if I had told her how many videos there actually was. I'm sure he would kick my ass. Between Thumbnails and editing these videos for him, I've been up all night and I only came in here because I know Raquel has no idea about the coffee that is in my bag. As long as she doesn't pinch them for herself. I'm happy.
Raquel: "He's been recording for about an hour now. Might be a long one, want me to take it?"
Rob: "Yeah ok, Good luck then and enjoy it. Do you have any others to do today?"
Raquel: "No not for today, just the one and then I need to go to work."
Rob: "How is the new job going?"
Raquel: "Honestly, I feel like quitting. I feel like I get more done here, and I enjoy it more."
Rob: "I know that feeling. Anyway I'm going to get started, I'll see you later."
I waved her off before heading around the building and over to my room. I loved and thanked Preston enough for a triple monitor set up for editing videos. It just made everything so much easier to handle and move around. I had barely plugged in my USB and started working before hearing a knock at the door, seeing Preston walk in.
Preston: "You're early."
Rob: "Raquel tell you?"
Preston: "Yeah, I only gave her one video today, she needs to get to work. Are you going to be ok in here?"
Rob: "Yeah I'll be fine. Got my stash and I'm all set to go."
Preston: "You seem tired?"
I turned to look away but I knew I was going to be slightly sluggish today, not drop in the quality of my work, but I will be taking a little longer to get some stuff done that's for sure. I tried to focus on the Videos and the thumbnails in my folder but it was a bit difficult with Preston rolling me away from the computer and spinning me to face him dead on.
Preston: "Rob, Mate you look like shit."
Rob: "I'm fine, I have to get your videos done."
Preston: "What you need is to get some sleep. Come on man I still have the other solo videos you did the other day as a back up just in case. Go home and get some sleep."
Rob: "I'll be fine Preston, Just relax ok. I'll be fine."
Preston: "What were you even doing?"
Rob: "Just work stuff. Go do some videos Preston I'll be fine."
Preston: "You work yourself too much. They are just videos man, If you need to call in sick or to take a break then let me know. You have been here every single day for upwards of Eight hours since I hired you."
Rob: "I love my job ok."
I watched as he sighed and left the room, I mean yeah I do love my job, but that's not the only reason. I turned up early because I knew that Raquel only did one video. It would let me work in peace and not have to worry about those two being too loud. Don't get me wrong I love her to death and would do anything for her, but when she was being so close and friendly to Preston, you know I kind of, I dunno. Maybe It's jealousy? I mean it probably is, he's pretty attractive.
Raquel: "YO PRESTON!"
Preston: "WHAT'S UP?"
Raquel: "ONLY ONE VIDEO MAN WHERE IS IT?"
Preston: "... FUCK!"
Rob: "Did he forget?"
I heard foot steps pacing around outside my door, a few seconds break before it came back and to where I assume was Raquel's room. I just smiled and shook my head, he's a great friend, an awesome guy to work for and respectful as fuck. But his memory is not the best. I decided to bring up the last factions video I had taken to work on, that unfortunately, I could not finish this morning. Fixing up the last of the audio that worried me and finishing off the last touches for his thumbnail and then saved the work in it's respected file.
Rob: "What has he got for me today?"
I waited for ten minutes just looking at the time and opening up a game to play while I waited. I was expecting to see him give the video he just finished to me for editing seeing as Raquel won't be here. But at the same time, I half kind of want her to take it. Maybe it's a quick and easy one? I looked at the time and noticed that Raquel started her other job in half an hour. And it took her ten minutes to get there so fingers crossed she can get it done. I guess I have something to do, but I can't let Preston know. He would freak out if he found out. He would probably freak out even more if he found out I could only do it here. I opened up my Twitter and noticed a few messages and mentions, though nothing too major. At least I kept my personal one separate.
Preston: "Hey sorry you alright in here? Haven't fallen asleep yet?"
Rob: "Hm? Oh no I'm fine sorry. Just might grab a coffee."
Preston: "Well don't worry about it. I'll go and get you something from Starbucks. Do you want something to eat as well?"
Rob: "I'll be fine man. Just need to get myself a drink."
I reached down into my bag and pulled out a can of coffee as I noticed Preston laugh at me. I pulled the tab and took a swig, hearing Raquel's foot steps coming around, I tried quickly to hide it and only just managed to get it behind the computer screen.
Raquel: "Hey if you re going to Starbucks or for lunch. Would you mind if I could get a lift to work at all?"
Preston: "No of course not."
Raquel: "Thanks Preston, when are you leaving?"
Preston: "Soon, Go touch it up as best as you can and then we can head out ok?"
Raquel: "Sound like a plan, You coming Rob?"
Rob: "Nah, I have to much work to do, I'll see you guys later."
Raquel: "Ok, Come on Preston let's get going."
Preston: "Ready already?"
Raquel: "Well sure. I had it done I just overheard sorry."
Preston: "Oh ok I get you now. Well then in that case, Let's get going."
I watched as the pair smiled at each other and walked out of the room. It didn't take long before I heard the front door close. I haven't been able to do this in a while, but I'm so glad I have the time to do it. Now that he is out of the office, I can do it without worrying about getting caught. I pulled a camera out of my bag and set it up on the top of the monitor. Hitting record.
Rob: "Hey what's going on guys It's Woofless here and I think we need to talk."
I went on for about eight minutes to talk about how I haven't been able to update lately, what I've been doing, and a way to try and ease the fans and their way of hounding me for an update.
Rob: "So I'm sorry guys but I will try and do as many as I can, but until then, expect a lot more vlogs to come up."
As I hit the record button again, stopping it. I put it back in my bag knowing I could edit it later. In the mean time though, I think I'm going to head to the toilet. Doing my business, I heard the front door slam shut before a pair of excited feet came running through the office before loud banging started echoing through the walls.
Preston: "ROB WHERE ARE YOU WE NEED TO TALK IT'S IMPORTANT COME ON WHEE ARE YOU LET'S GO!"
After smiling to myself as he screamed, clearly being so excited, I flushed the toilet and walked out to see a wide smile adorning his face. It was kind of funny to see.
Rob: "Preston, I was on the toilet. What's up man?"
Preston: "Ok so you know Raquel pretty well."
Rob: "Yeah of course, she is a great friend."
At times sure.
Preston: "Well I dropped her off at her job and before she ran off, she looked nervous and I asked if she was ok, and then she went on and on about how she liked this guy but didn't know how to say it to him. And I jokingly told her to just walk up and kiss him so she did."
I watched as he spoke his smile getting wider until he was full on grinning.
Preston: "I'm so glad she likes me back. I didn't think she would ever like me to be honest."
In that one sentence, I felt my whole world collapse. Break down around me. I mean yeah, I'm happy for them don't get me wrong. But at the same time. I was so upset.
Preston: "Hey Rob, are you ok?"
I watched him looking slightly upset with me. I knew I mustn't have looked ok. I probably couldn't hide the fact that I was so upset.
Rob: "Hm what?"
Preston: "Are you ok? Here why don't I take you home and you get some sleep. You look like you need it."
Rob: "No it's fine, Guess I am hungry after all but I can eat after I finish up. I uh, got that first video done for you."
I smiled at him as he looked at me with such an upsetting look on his face. It seemed to me like he was actually upset for me.
Preston: "Rob: "You know you can talk to me about anything right?"
Rob: "Guess I'm just worried that this will be my full time job now."
Preston: "At work, it will be different. I promise. Work life and personal life will be separate, I won't let your work load get bigger just because I want to see Raquel."
Rob: "Yeah, Ok."
I faked a smile but I knew he could see straight through me. Oh Preston, If only you knew.
