Jerome's POV
Jerome: "Where did you go off to?"
Mitch: "Just had to go down to the shops and grab a few things."
He walked in the door with bags of groceries. Bags filled with a wide variety of food. Though he smelled differently.
Jerome: "Busy down there?"
Mitch: "Not really. I was quite surprised. Normally there are hundreds of people in there.Rushing and tearing to get everything they need."
Jerome: "Sounds like you got a lucky break."
I couldn't help but laugh a little. I saw him smile at me. I love this guy. He walked over and pulled me into his embrace. He still smelt different. What was that. I've smelt it before.
Mitch: "Your always looking at the positive side of everything. This is why I love you."
Jerome: "Eww you love a guy."
Mitch: "Ew what no. A guy that's gross and wrong. Demon child."
He stepped back and held his fingers in a cross formation. I couldn't help but laugh.
Mitch: "But seriously though. I love you Jerome."
Jerome: "I love you too Mitchy."
I watched as he walked away and started putting groceries away. I turned and walked up the stairs to our room. That fucking smell was pissing me off. It was right there in the front of my mind. But for the love of me I couldn't fucking figure it out. I grabbed my phone out and checked the time as I unlocked it. 2:58 pm. I opened up Skype and saw a few messages coming up in the Pack chat.
Lachlan: "I can't fucking do it."
Vikk: "Lachlan calm down. You didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't your fault."
Rob: "Seriously. You had no say in the situation. He forced it. It wasn't your fault."
Lachlan: "I didn't push him away. I couldn't he tied me down. He gagged me. I couldn't say anything. I can't do it."
Preston: "Lachlan please breathe. I've already booked my flight over to you guys. I'll be there tonight alright. Please be safe."
What the fuck was going on. Lachlan is in complete stress and panic mode.More messages were coming up but it was just Vikk and Rob telling him to calm down and relax. He had not long moved over here. About 3 months ago I think. He had his own apartment about 10 minutes away from Mitch and I. We were surprised he decided to come here and not go to England. Let's be honest. He would benefit more from being over there with Vikk and the boys. They loved him.
Jerome: "Hey what's going on here? Lachlan are you ok?"
Vikk: "Get out of the conversation Jerome."
Jerome: "Hey what did I do? And this is the pack chat."
Rob: "Jerome please?"
Jerome: "Ok... Look Lachlan I don't know what I've done. Because I'm pretty sure I haven't done anything. But I hope your ok. If you need anything just let me know ok? Please don't push me away. I would hate to lose you."
Jerome has left the chat
I looked up from my phone to see Mitch standing in front of me smiling.He walked over and gave me a massive hug. I pulled my arms up and held him there. I was a little bit upset. What did I do to him? I needed to go see him right? He wouldn't mind if I did because I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything.
Mitch:"Are you ok baby?"
Jerome:"Yeah just worried and a little bit upset."
Mitch:"What's wrong?"
Jerome:"Have you checked the Pack chat?"
Mitch:"No I've been pretty busy today. I'll have a look later ok?"
Jerome:"Lachlan is really upset about something. I was watching Vikk and Poofless tell him he was ok. It wasn't his fault I don't know. I tried to see if he was ok but Vikk and Rob told me to leave. I'm worried about him. I should go see him and find out if he is ok? I haven't done anything have I? I haven't said or done anything to hurt him have I? I haven't said anything about him moving over here in any videos I've done. I haven't released anything on twitter."
Mitch:"Maybe he is just suffering from Home sickness."
Jerome:"They wouldn't kick me out of the chat because of that."
Mitch:"I don't know baby. I'm going to go record a video. Would you like to join me?"
Jerome:"No. I think I'm going to go and see Lachlan. I'm worried about him. And It wouldn't be right if I left him on his own. He doesn't have anyone here with him."
I saw his face change in a flash. Almost as if in his eyes he was angry and upset. But he composed himself almost as fast and smiled at me.
Mitch:"Ok. Tell him I hope he's ok then."
Jerome:"Yeah I will. I'll talk to you later."
The smell was still strong but it had lingered too long. It didn't smell like he had directly sprayed himself. It was like he had been in the room with it for a while and the smell stuck to him. I didn't let it annoy me though. It was starting to really piss me off. But maybe it was just him trying something new. It sounded like your typical Male cologne. Or a deodorant spray I'm not sure. But I know for a fact I know it from somewhere. Maybe I know it but I never take notice of it so I don't register it for what it is? I grabbed my wallet and put it in my pocket with my phone. I headed down stairs and found my keys on the bench in the kitchen. I picked them up and headed out to my car.Hopping in and hitting the road. I heard my phone vibrate in my pocket. I let it go until it vibrated again. I pulled it out and hooked it up on the dash board to the blue tooth.
Jerome:"Hello."
Preston:"What are you doing?"
Jerome:"I'm heading over to Lachlan's now. It seemed like he was really upset about something. I don't know what I did but Vikk and Rob kicked me out of the chat. So I'm heading over. It wouldn't sit well with me if I left him on his own right now. He seems like he needs someone and he's my best friend. I couldn't think of what I had done.So I'm going to see him. Maybe it wasn't me and he just freaked out?"
Vikk:"Honestly Jerome. Turn around and go back home."
Jerome:"Vikk you and I both know I can't do that. I won't leave him on his own."
Rob:"Turn the car around and go home Jerome."
Preston:"I'm on my way to the airport. I should land in about 5 hours. I have to check in though."
Jerome:"Isn't it only like 3 and a half hours or something?"
Preston:"Yeah if everything goes right."
(Mayor may not have had to google that one. America your flights are annoying and confusing.)
Jerome:"Alright well I'll keep him company until then. Then I will go home alright?"
Vikk:"You don't understand Jerome. You can't go there."
Jerome:"Why the fuck not. He's my best friend and I'm not going to let him deal with whatever shit he is right now on his own. Mitch is recording anyway I wouldn't have anything else to do"
Rob:"Turn the fucking car around Jerome."
Jerome:"No. Rob what the fuck is wrong with you?"
Preston:"Jerome if I tell you what's going on will you please turn around?"
Jerome:"Probably not. I swear to Christ. Mitch knows something because he seemed a bit upset when I said I was going to check on Lachlan. He smelled different when he got home. Like a new male cologne thing. It was familiar but I couldn't figure it out. And now you guys are pissing me off telling me not to go check on our best fucking friend.Knowing full well I seem to be the only fucker here that actually wants to check on him. I'm going to go. Don't fucking try and message me unless it's to tell me what's going on."
I ended the call on my end and threw my phone in the back of the car. I kept my hand on the steering wheel and headed towards Lachlan. Something caught my eye first so I thought I would stop and grab some chipotle for him. I know he's obsessed with it. So I thought maybe it would help cheer him up. Once I had acquired the food I checked my phone again. Mainly seeing messages from Everyone still telling me to turn around. But one stood out.
Lachlan: "It wasn't my fault. I didn't do anything to start it. I didn't get to say no.He tied me up and gagged me so I couldn't talk. I tried to warn you but I'm so scared. Please don't hate me. I didn't mean it."
What the fuck was wrong with him? How can something so bad happen that he would instantly try to push me away like that. I don't really understand.
Jerome: "Lachlan please talk to me. I don't know what I did and it is freaking me out.I'm on my way over to your place now. I grabbed some chipotle to sort of hope that you will talk to me. I'm sorry for whatever it was that I did. I promise I didn't mean it so please when I get there let me in and just cuddle me. I'm scared and I don't want to lose you ok? If you didn't get to say no. And you didn't start anything or it wasn't your fault then I can't hate you. I can't leave you Lachy your my favourite Australian. Promise me you will tell me what's going on? Or at least let's eat together and just sit in silence ok?"
I put my phone onto the passenger seat beside me. I heard it vibrate once while I was driving but didn't pick it up till I got to Lachlan's place. I stopped the car and checked my phone.
Lachlan: "I won't be there when you arrive. It's too late. I can't."
Human instinct took over as I bolted from my car. I ran up the stairs taking them three at a time. I didn't even think about what I was doing. I got to the front door of his house before I started bashing it as hard as I could.
Jerome:"LACHLAN PLEASE OPEN THIS DOOR!"
I didn't hear any answer as I continued to bash. I could hear the door breaking but I didn't care. I wouldn't let him hurt himself I know what he was like. And something like this could kill him. I felt someone put there hand on my shoulder. Stopping me for a second.
???:"What the fuck are you doing?"
Jerome:"My friend has probably killed himself. Either you have the key to let me in. Or break this door down with me. I'm not leaving him alone."
As if my words struck something with him he pushed me out of the way and pulled a ring of keys from his pocket. Going through them before he found what he was looking for. He unlocked the door and I bolted in.Slamming the door, I know I left a dent in the wall with how hard I hit it but I don't care. I ran as fast as I could to his room. Just as I saw him fall from his bed. Rope hanging around his shoulder. He wasn't facing me but I didn't care. I just watched him fall into it.I ran and held him up. Tears were falling down my cheeks. I didn't want to keep doing this. This was the last time I would ever leave him alone.
Lachlan:"Jerome let go. I can't do this anymore."
Jerome:"I'm not letting you go. You didn't do anything. You didn't have a choice. You said he tied and gagged you. I don't know what happened but please. If he forced it onto you. Then I'm not going to leave you alone. Your my best friend Lachlan. I promised I would keep you safe over here. Who ever the fuck it was I'll kill them. Just please take the rope. Off your neck. And I'll put you down. Otherwise I will stand here. Holding onto you forever if I have to."
I started to sob and cry as I realised what I was doing. I just stood in his room. While the rope hung from his neck. Still loose as I held him up from his legs.
Lachlan:"I don't want."
Jerome:"I don't care what you want Lachlan. Right now. I'll fucking run out and catch you a fucking charmander if I have to. I'll genetically recreate a dinosaur. I'll pay single handedly with every dollar I have. To fly your entire family over here and pay for them to live here. I don't care. Lachlan please take it off."
Lachlan:"Jerome."
Jerome:"I won't tell you to see anyone. I won't take you to a Psychiatrist. I won't force you to go anywhere or do anything. Lachlan I will do anything I have to do. In order to convince you that it's going to be ok. The entire time in the car. Preston, Vikk and Rob called me. And tried to convince me to turn around and go home. But I couldn't leave you. I couldn't let myself turn around not knowing what was going on. I thought you were angry at me. And I got scared and worried about you so I came here as fast as I could. I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner. Please Lachlan. I am begging you to take it off your neck."
I held him up while I moved around and looked up facing him. The tears running down my face. I could see him crying as well.
Jerome:"Please Lachlan. I won't tell anyone. It will be just us. I trust you Lachlan. I won't ever leave. I won't leave you alone. I'm sorry for whatever I did to make you angry or upset with me. I won't let it happen again. I promise."
I watched him for 5 minutes stay there. I didn't care how long it took I was not letting him go. I didn't care as I felt my legs starting to shake. My arms getting tired. But I wasn't going to let it go. I watched his arms move as he lifted the rope off his neck. I waited until I saw it hang beside him. Before I slowly started to lower him to the ground. As soon as I knew his feet were on the ground I wrapped him in another hug. I held onto him as tight as I could.
Lachlan:"I didn't have a choice."
Jerome:"I know Lachlan. I don't know what happened to you. But please promise me you won't do that again. Or at least talk to me so I can talk you out of it. Your my best friend Lachlan. I would die without you around."
I brought him down to his bed as I lay him down. I crawled behind him and just held him. He flinched and got scared but I didn't care.
Jerome:"Lachlan it's me. I wouldn't do anything to you. Please don't be scared. I promise I won't hurt you or do anything to harm you. I just want to hold you right now. Promise me you won't leave me."
Lachlan:"I can't Jerome."
I put my arm around him. I felt him flinch so I turned him around so he was facing me. His head in my chest. He was crying his eyes out.
Lachlan:"It hurt."
Jerome:"I'm not going anywhere. I promise. I won't leave you."
I felt him cuddle into me. He was so scared. I looked around and saw a few things were broken. It smelled like Male cologne in here. I always loved Lachlan's smell. It was always so sophisticated. I should ask him what it was. It smells nice.
