Not sure whether or not yall actually wanted to hear the beginnings of Nic and Lydia or not lol. Especially since most of yall seem to hate her 😜

NICKI POV

"Its getting late." I sighed.

"You need a ride home?"

"No, I should be fine." I replied, throwing on my jacket.

"Alright babe I love you." He pecked my lips.

"Love you too." I smiled "see you tomorrow."

He opened my car door for me.

"Wait, what do you want for dinner tomorrow?" I asked after I got in.

"Surprise me" he said as he closed the door.

I waited until he started his car before I pulled off.

Lydia was awake when I got home.

"You left me with these people." She joked.

"Sorry." I replied as I began to strip.

"Hows Drake taking all of this?"

"Honestly, he's more concerned with Omarion than he is with you." I replied.

"As he should. I dont know why he feels threatened by me. All I've done was make yall little relationship happen and councel both of yall through it." She stated.

I thought about it for a moment, "hmm. You're right."

The next morning I woke up early and left for work. Everyone was asleep except OJ so I brought him with me. I put a post-it note on Lydia's phone letting her know OJ and I were at the office.

Drake met me there, holding 2 coffees and a brown paper bag.

"Morning" I smiled.

"Morning." He hugged me.

Drake POV

"You look amazing," I said as we pulled away from the hug, "as always."

"Thanks babe." She kissed my cheek.

"Thanks again for last night." She added.

"Anytime babe." I replied.

"You do realize that I'm aware of.. How much effort it takes to be with me, right?" She squinted at me.

She must have sensed my confusion, "I mean like.. I understand that since I'm ... Different there's more precaution for you to take."

I nodded.

"I love how much it means to you that everything is perfect for me, but honestly don't break your neck trying to ask Lydia about every little thing. If you make a mistake, I won't die, and it won't make me love you any less." She cupped my face with her hands.

"I know I know."

"I just want you to be real with me. If real means I'm upset over something small then so be it. We'll get over it." she explained.

"I understand." I put my arm around her.

She laid her head on my shoulder.

"Do you-" she began but stopped herself.

"Do I... What?" I asked.

She sighed, "do you think there's like.. A chance I could... Become normal?"

"You are normal." I assured her.

"No, you don't get it." she pulled away from me.

"Then explain it to me." I grabbed her arm.

"There are things that I don't understand," she began, "I mean, you already know this.."

"Okay..."

"I dont know, I guess I just want to learn those things. Maybe, even socialize." she looked at her feet, obviously embarrassed.

"I don't think I know how to do that." I admitted.

Her eyes watered as she pulled away.

"Nic,"

"I have to work." She shook her head.

"Nic I ju-"

She walked out, "I'm leaving."

Vanessa POV

I watched Nicki leave Aubrey's office and head towards the elevator. By the time she pressed the button she had burst into a fit of tears and sat outside her office door.

I went to tend to her.

"Nicki are you okay?" I asked approaching her slowly.

She looked up at me, "where do you live?"

"Um... Brooklyn, why?" I asked.

"I wanted to leave here, but I can't go home because there's people there and I cant go to Lydia's house either." She burst into more tears.

"I can take you to my house. But you have to promise to stop crying." I offered.

She nodded.

I helped her to her feet and grabbed my keys. By the time we got into the car she had dried her tears.

"I hate seeing you cry Nicki." I told her.

"I know its a lot better NOT knowing me right?" She sighed.

"No, I love knowing you. You've always been my mentor, I've always looked up to you. We're friends Nicki, and friends don't like to see their friends upset." I explained.

"Do you have a lot of friends?" She asked.

"I guess.." I shrugged, trying to sound modest.

"You're lucky, you know that?"

"Why?"

"You have an amiable personality. You're bubbly and outspoken. You can make friends and talk to people so easily." She explained. "You have everything."

I parked in front of my apartment.

"Hold that thought." I told her as we walked inside.

"Wow." She said as she walked in.

"Is that sarcasm?"

"No not at all." She replied.

"Your house is huge! Its beautiful and fancy and elegant. My entire apartment can fit in your shoe closet." I expressed.

"So? Okay my house is big, that doesn't make me any happier." She argued.

"I'm just saying, you have everything that everyone else wants in life. Money, fame, beauty, sex appeal, etc." I explained.

"To you I must sound like an insensitive bitch." She sighed sitting on my couch.

"No, I just think you sometimes forget how great your life is." I told her.

"I think you take what you have for granted." She smiled softly at me.

"What do I have that you could possibly want?" I asked.

She stood and walked over to my bookshelf. She picked up a picture of my family from our vacation last summer.

"Is this your family?" She asked.

"Yeah."

"I don't have that." She stated. She ran across an old photo album and picked it up.

"It was a cheap vacation, we only went down the shore. I'm sure your vacations were more extravagant." I defended myself.

"What do you think when you picture my childhood?" She asked as she flipped through the album.

"I don't know. Private school, mansion, first class plane rides, money, fancy restaurants, you know.." I shrugged.

She chuckled to herself, "yeah, I wish."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth Vanessa." She continued looking through the album.

"You're kidding right?" I said in disbelief.

"My childhood was exactly the opposite of what you named." She stated. She showed me a picture of me and my cousins at an amusement park, "I've never been on a family vacation."

"I guess you guys were busy at home."

"I didn't have a family to vacation with." She closed the album and put it back.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, I was an orphan, then became an only child. Then everything went downhill from there." She shrugged, "thats life right?"

"I'm sorry."

"I just played the cards that life dealt me."

"Nicki if you ever need anything.."

"Going back to our conversation," she interrupted, "I would trade my life for yours in a heartbeat."

QOTD: yall wanna hear about young Nika and Lydia when they first met and shit or nah?

AOTD: i would just make it a mini story in the midst of this one.. For all you Lydia haters, it would include Nic not liking/talking to Lydia sometimes and them not getting along, Lydia fucking up.. Etc.

Omg I gotta write a speech in 2days and a song in 3days!! Im halfway done the song but I havent begun the speech!
