We went back to the mother's home as we ask her about the hole on her head as she says, "Chelsea had brain surgery when she was three." Temp and I were looking at the drawings again as Booth ask questions, "They had to drill into her skull?" "Yes, to relieve the pressure." I look at Temp, "Did you notice these are accurate Temp." "What?" I guess the mother also heard me, "I beg your pardon?" I look at them and point at the drawings, "These are all constellations- Centaurus, Aquarius, Gemini." "I knew Chelsea loved the stars, but I never thought her drawings were actually- They're real?" I nod, "This one's Delphinus, the dolphin." Temp adds, "It was... my favorite when I was a child. Our mother and I both love dolphins, so that was something that we... shared." Booth then asks, "Mrs. Cole, why exactly did, uh, your daughter require brain surgery?" "Why did you ask it like that? You think I did something to Chelsea."
Temp then says, "Head injuries are extremely common... with children who are physically abused." She looks at us for a second and says, "Excuse me, But it's very important that I take my medication on time." We watch her as she then says, "My daughter age three, fell out of bed. She did not stop crying and so I took her to the hospital. She had the surgery." She places down the medication on the table as Temp and look at them as she continues, "It was because of that injury that they discovered that she had the aging disease. Did Joe Mellon tell you that I physically abused my daughter... because I grabbed her arm once? Once?"
We are in the car as when Hodgins called Booth as we hear him say "Sure. Wow... No, no, no. Yeah, that, but, you know, you didn't give me much time to put a bachelor party together." Temp then asks him, "Is that Hodgins?" "Yeah, he wants me to be his best man. If there's no bachelor party, what do you want me to do?... Nice. Excellent. Who's the maid of honor?" Temp then says, "We are the maid of honors." I cut in, "No, I chose to demote myself as a brides maid. Angie and I decided that you should be the only maid of honor... Why Ranger?" Booth looks at us for a second as he then says to Hodgins, "Uh, listen, do you need me to connect with the bride's father, put together the, uh- the toast, the speeches and all that?... Hodgins, are you there?" Booth then hangs up as Temp says, "She has AIDS." Booth asks, "Angela?" "Cynthia Cole, the victim's mother. H.I.V. or AIDS." "What, all that medicine she took?" "I recognize one of them. We'll ask Cam." I nod.
I went back home earlier because I wanted to go to bed early when I had my pajamas on. Right when I was about to lay in my bed, I get a text and I sigh seeing that Hodgins found what poisoned Chelsea. I changed again and went downstairs to my car and drove to the lab. I get there just as Temp, and Booth got there as well. We head over to Hodgins as he starts explaining, "Not a true shrimp- actually a brachiopod." Booth then says, "You wanna hurry it up there, Hodgins? I got a tux I need to rent." "Right. Zack and I did a brief experiment involving sea chimps." "Sea Chimps? I love sea chimps." Temp asks, "To confirm that they would feed on decomposing human tissue?" Booth then says, "Great. Thanks for ruining the whole sea chimp thing for me." I ask, "Did they?" Hodgins says, "Those sea chimps went after that pork by-product like piranhas after a skinny-dipping missionary." "Did you find anything in the fairy shrimp beneath Chelsea Cole's body?" "Yeah. They were exposed to lethal concentrations... of non-nucleoside reverse transcription inhibitors." Booth then says, "I feel bad for the sea chimps." "Ranger" "Mmm." "Chelsea Cole was poisoned by an overdose of nevirapine." "What's that?" "AID Medicine." "AIDS medicine?" "It was her mother."
We go back to Mrs. Cole with the rock we originally found on the girl as Booth places it down on the table for her to see, "We'll probably be able to trace that back to you." "I love my daughter very much." "Hell you did." I then say, "She got to be too much for you to handle, so you killed her." "You don't understand." Temp then says, "I don't think you'll ever find anyone who does." Booth adds, "You know, your daughter had the mind of a six-year-old. She loved the stars. She trusted you." Temp went to call somebody as she says, "We're here." Booth continues, "And you killed her." Temp then says to the phone, "Raltegervir. MK-0518. Tenofir..." She then looks at us, "She used her old medicine to poison Chelsea. Thanks, Cam." Booth stands up, "Cynthia Cole, you're under arrest for the murder of your daughter, Chelsea Cole." She stands up as she gets handcuffed as she then asks Temp and I, "Could you please take down the picture Chelsea drew? I don't want anyone to come in and just throw them away." I then ask her, "You threw away your own daughter. Why would I do you a favor?" Booth then reads her Marandia rights and takes her away.
Later that day Hodgins asked me if I could help find Angie's dad with him. I told him I already know where he would be as I would take him. He nods as we now enter a studio and here someone playing the guitar. I smile and chuckle knowing who was playing. I pushed Hodgins in first as he was the one needing to talk to him not me. He looks at me hesitantly as I give him a thumbs up. He then walks over to him with me right behind as he then says, "Hey." Angie's dad looks at Hodgins as he keeps on saying, "I mean, the-" He imitates the guitar, vocalization. I try not to laugh as Angie's dad did not say anything. Hodgins looks at me for a second as I cover my mouth and try to support him as much as I can as he continues saying, "You get that a lot, right, the whole- (imitating the guitar) thing?"
Angie's dad finally decides to speak, "Can I help you?" "I'm Jack Hodgins..." He takes off his glasses and looks at Hodgins, "You seem okay to me so far." "Well, I-I suddenly realized- my best man said- speeches at the wedding. You know about the wedding?" "Oh, yes. It's no coincidence I'm here." "Well, it occurred to me that you might have a traditional- you're Texan and- I mean, really Texan. Guitars-and-hot-rods Texan, so- I figured I should ask you for your daughter's hand in marriage. As a sign of respect." "You're making a huge mistake, son." "Marrying Angela?" "No. If Angie finds out that a man- you- asked another man- me- for her hand or any of her other fine parts, horrible complications will ensue." "I didn't think of that." "You could get us both killed." "Okay. Good advice."
They shake hands as Hodgins asks, "You got any more?" "Always play it in the key of 'G' demolished." "I don't know what that means." "Well, if you do, you do. If you don't, you don't. Forget it." Hodgins nods was about to walk away as he calls for him again, "Hodgins. I've got cars and I've got guitars... and I got guns." Hodgin's face starts to make a frown as mine was the opposite as I snicker as he continues, "You treat my little girl right, you'll only see the business end of the cars and guitars. But if you don't... you want to finish it off Sugar-pie." I chuckle as Hodgins looks at me, "Sure thing Mr. Mont... If you, don't you might not only get to see guns." I smiled at Hodgins as I take my thumb and swipe it across my neck pointing it down in the end. Hodgin shutters as I say, "I will see you soon then Mr. Mont." "Sure thing Sugar-pie." Hodgin and I leave. Once we were out of ear shot he then says, "I thought you were backing me up?" "Of course I am... but I also got to make sure to take care of Angie." He sighs and says, "I don't know who's scarier you or Angela's dad." I shrug.
After that I went and dropped Hodgins off at his house and went to meet Temp at the Royal dinner. We were sitting and eating as we then see our dad from the window. I smile as Temp shows dad the family ring that she has on. He then shows us the tape that he wanted for us to see. He drops it off and leaves as Temp and I finish our food and quickly go back to the apartment and play it. We sit there holding each other hands as we see someone finishing setting up the camera. The woman then goes back and sits on the tree. We look at her and see that it was mom as she then says, "Hi, Temperance, Venus. It's mom. I don't know when- or if- you'll ever see this. I hope to put it on both of your hands myself, see you both again with my own eyes. But this... is a hard, hard world. Your father and I left you, Venus and Russ... to save your lives. People would have killed you to get us. That's not what this is about. No. Today is your Temperance 16th birthday. I'm sorry not to be there to tell you all the things... that a mother should tell her daughter when she turns 16. And sorry not to give you this."
Mom then shows us her ring that Temp is wearing as she continues, "It's an heirloom from my side of the family, and starting today, it's yours. I don't know how long it will take me to get it to you, but... I promise you I will. I am also sorry Venus for not being able to be there for you in your important years as a child. You both are going to hear a lot of things about your parents, especially about your father. He is a good man. It was my insistence to leave you kids. Max would have kept us together, fought until the end. He was almost going to do that when Venus saw us that night when we were about to leave... but we had to push through. Not sure he'll ever forgive me for that. So please, Temperance, Venus. I need you to forgive me. And if you can't forgive me, I beg you, sweeties, forgive your father. Because he is a very good man. Remember this. You were both cherished in this world. Adored. What I did to you both may have been wrong, but I did it out of love. I did it out of love." It then ends and Temp and I were in tears."
Temp and I went to the prison with the pictures Chelsea drew and brought it to her mother. She was sitting across from us as she looks at them as I begin to speak, "Chelsea thought that stars were signals from heaven... showing how to get home." Temp continued, "Your AIDS cocktail wasn't working. You were sick, dying." I add, "They put you on an experimental drug... and you felt even worse. Your worst nightmare was coming true." Temp continued, "Chelsea was going to outlive you." She then says, "No, foster parent would take her." I then said, "You did what you did... out of mercy." "We went to the park, and I gave the- told Chelsea that it was candy. We, uh- we sat there looking up at the stars. I didn't know what to do with her. I didn't have the strength left. A-and then, I remembered the water. And I thought it was deep. Peaceful, you know?" Temp then says, "And then- like you were being punished, the experimental drug... started to work, didn't it?" "Yes." "You got better. What you did was wrong. But you did it out of love." We watch as she cried as we gave her the rock that said, 'I Love You' on it.
It was finally the day of Angie and Hodgins wedding as everything was prepared. Cam and I were already wearing the bridesmaid dress as Temp comes down the stairs asking, "How do I look?" Booth looks at her, "Good." Temp then looks at Cam and I, "How come you both looks so much better?" Cam then says, "Ah, Venus took the bow and yanked it." She stars helping Temp as I walk over to Booth and talked as Zack comes over to us and asks, "Have either of you been to Iraq?" Booth then says, "That's classified information, and you aren't cleared for that?" I shake my head at Booth as I look at Zack, "Why Zack?" "Does it get hurt to get shot?" "Yes? Why?"
Booth also looks at him weirdly as Zack says, "I've never been shot." Cam then calls Booth, "Yeah?" We turn to see that Cam finished fixing Temp to look just like ours as Booth whistles, "Wow. You look great." "You said it looked good before." "Whose day is it, huh? It's Angela's. Come. on. Let's go. There you go." We get ready as Temp and Booth would go out first, then Zack and I, with Cam behind us. I then whisper to Zack, "What's going on Zack? Why are you so interested on how it feels like to get shot?" Before we could say anything, we had to separate. Then the harmony music stopped as they play some blues rock music for the bride's entrance. We smile as Angela makes her way down the ail in her lovely gown.
We then hear Booth yell Temp and my name as we look at him as he says, "He could've gotten away?" I was confused as Temp says, "What?" "We got into a fight, you see, your dad could have escaped capture." I was confused even more as Temp says, "So he beat you in the fight?" "No, I didn't say that." "You beat him, but you gave him a chance to get away?" "No, I didn't say that." I watched as they were walking closer together as Temp says, "Well, I don't see any other alternative." "Bones, your father chose to be arrested because he felt... if he abandoned you and Blueberry again, he'd lose you both forever. Just thought... you should know." We watch as they hugged each other as I smile. We then hear someone clear their throat as we look to see that it was Angie, "Hi. I'd, uh, like to get married now." I snickered as I put my hand behind my back for Cam as she hands me $10 bucks. I knew something like this was going to happen at the alter... I just didn't know that it was our dad that caused this. The two separated awkwardly as they let the wedding continue.
As the wedding was ceremony was going on, I see someone entering through the door as they say, "Excuse me. Is this the Hodgins-Montenegro Nuptials?" Angie then says, "It's trying to be." "I'm with the state department and it's imperative that I speak with Hodgins and Montenegro before these proceedings proceed." I look at Caroline as she looks at me and I give her some pleading eyes as she then stands up, "Come on then. Let's get this figured out." Hodgins then says to everyone there, "We'll, um- we'll be right back." They then leave with Caroline as I put my hand out for Cam and Temp as they take out $10 and hand it to me. Zack and Booth look at us as Booth asked, "You guys bet on this." I shrug, "Something always goes wrong in weddings... or anything in general with this team."
The others nodded. I then take a seat next to Booth as Zack looks at us, "Booth? Venus?" "Yes?" "Yeah?" "Is there any sense in ducking when someone shoots at you?" We look at him as Booth says, "Your body ducks whether you want to or not." I then stand up, "Why Zack? What's going on?" Booth also stands up also curious as Zack says, "You both can read this later, then explain it to everyone." I take the paper and look at the envelope that says, 'The White House Washington, DC 20500.' In which it was addressed to Zack. I look at him with sad eyes as Booth also looks at it and then back to Zack and asks, "Why us?" "Y-you both know more about duty and honor... than anyone else I know." Booth and I look at each other for a second and back to Zack thinking about how we are going to help him. Then a few minutes later we see Hodgins and Angela telling all of us to go to the reception and thanking us for coming as they ran. I chuckle a bit as I lean on Zack. Temp and Booth looked at each other as I smiled at them both knowing that something will bloom eventually... maybe even slowly.
