𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙖
When I woke up, it's already 11 am. I decided to go downstairs and while I am still on the stairs, I heard loud giggles coming from the living room.
They were all there, talking arbitrary topics, I guess.
"Oh the princess is awake already!" Tita Imee exclaimed as soon as she saw me approaching, everyone's gaze turned to me so I gave them a smile.
"How's your sleep, apo?" Abu asked as she tapped the unoccupied seat beside her.
"All good abu, nakatulog po ako ng mahimbing." I replied as I smiled.
"What are y'll talking? I heard loud giggles on my way here." I added as I looked at them.
"Oh we're just talking randomly, having fun on teasing each and everyone." Tita Liza said as she smiled.
"I see..." I uttered.
"Ma'am, Sir, handa na po yung pagkain.."
We nodded as we went to the kitchen, I sat in my usual spot, chair between tita Imee and mommy. I put a small amount of food in my plate after we prayed, we started eating as Abu started to ask us one by one about how our weeks went.
After we ate, we went back to the living room as everyone agreed to have a karaoke session. I was browsing through my phone when mommy showed up infront of me, she sat beside me because there is still unoccupied seat pa naman.
"you should sing love, its been awhile since we heard you sang." she said softly as she she tucked my hair behind my ears.
"Maybe later, mom." I said plainly as I smiled.
She held my hand as she gently squeeze it, "everything's good?" she asked.
"Of course, everything's fine mommy." I said as I smiled at her and leaned my head to her shoulders, she put her hand to my back so she could hug me. Our moment got interrupted when my phone rang.
"Uy, may tumatawag! Tito oh!" Kuya Matthew teased, I glared at him.
I looked at mom, "need to answer this, mommy. Excuse me" I said as she nodded, I went outside as I answered the call, it's Hannah.
"Hello, Hans?" I said as soon as I answered the call.
"T-tine, b-busy ka ba?" She asked, she sound nervous.
"I'm not, why? Teka, kinakabahan naman ako sayo. May nangyari ba?" I asked, my heart is beating fast.
"Si ano kasi, si S-sister Anabelle.." She uttered as I heard her sobbed.
I'm starting to get nervous, ano ba ang nangyari?
"What happened? Anong nangyari kay Sister?" I asked loudly.
"Nasa hospital kami ngayon dito sa Laoag, dinala namin siya dito kasi madalas yung pagsakit ng ulo niya, isang linggo nadin siya dito, yun pala may sakit siya, Brain Tumor." Hannah replied, as my tears began to form, I wasn't able to respond right away because I was so shock, hindi ko akalaing magkakaroon ng ganong sakit si Sister.
"B-bakit ngayon mo lang sinabi sakin to?" I whispered as I sobbed.
"Kasi ayaw ni Sister, alam niyang mag-aalala ka sakanya. Ayaw niyang makaabala sa pag-aaral mo." Hannah said.
"Hindi naman siya makakaabala, this is a serious matter, jusko naman! Kumusta siya?" I asked.
"Andun natutulog, kami ni Josh yung bantay ngayon kasi umuwi muna si Sister Theressa sa Paoay. Iniinda ni Sister yung sakit ng bukol niya sa ulo, ang laki din kasi ng gagastusin sa pagpapa-opera, naghahanap pa kami ng pera pandagdag." Hannah answered.
"Pupunta ako jan.." I said as I bid goodbye and ended the call.
I went back inside the house, while wiping my tears. I know some of them noticed me wiping my tears but I just smiled lightly to them. I immediately went upstairs and when I reached mommy's room, I sat on the bed as I started to cry.
God knows how much I love and how important Sister Anabelle is to me, she took care of me na walang hinihiling na kapalit, she love me unconditionally, she treated my like her own, she let me use her surname. I am still frustrated kasi hindi nila agad pinaalam sakin 'to but I know it's her decision, kahit may sakit siya, ako parin yung inaalala niya. All I want to do now is to see her okay and give her a tight hug.
I was still crying when someone suddenly knocked on the door.
"Anak..."
It's mommy, I immediately went to open the door as I hugged her tightly. I really need her right now.
"What happened?" She asked softly.
"Mommy, m-may b-brain tumor daw po si Sister Anabelle.." I said as I sobbed on her shoulders.
She caressed my back, "Mommy, can we go to Ilocos now? I want to see her." I begged.
"Of course, let's go. Ipapahanda ko na yung helicopter, get yourself ready love. Hush." Mommy said as she lift up my face and wipe my tears with her thumb, I saw that she's already tearing-up too.
"Everything's going to be fine, Sister Anabelle is a fighter." She whispered as she planted a kiss on my forehead.
I nod, "I can't lose her mommy.." I uttered, she just smiled at me weakly as she hug me again.
𝙄𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙤𝙨-𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙖
I was shocked when Celestine told me about Sister Anabelle's condition. I can't help but to also tear up, malaki ang utang na loob namin sakanya dahil inalagaan, inaruga at minahal niya ang anak ko.
Alam ko ding mahirap ito para sa anak ko, mahal na mahal niya at importante sakanya si Sister Anabelle. She's crying uncontrollably, I told her that everything's going to be alright as I hug her.
"Gagawin natin ang lahat to extend her life longer, anak.." I assured her.
"thank you mommy." She said, she's still crying.
"Ready your things na love, para makaalis na tayo at para makita mo na siya. I know she misses you." I said as I wiped her tears, she nodded, when she calmed already, I left her in the room so she could prepare her things and herself.
I also informed Greggy and the whole family about the news, they were also in shock. Susunod daw din sila bukas para bumisita, same with Greggy.
I'm already ready, I'm just waiting for Celestine. I saw her already heading here, downstairs.
"Let's go?" I asked as I smiled at her, she nodded, before we left we kissed everyone's cheeks first then left. We arrived at the airport and the chopper is already there. While boarding, I held Celestine's hand, it's cold. I know she's nervous.
"Hey, relax. Don't be so nervous, anak. Makakaya ni Sister yun. She's a strong woman right?" I said to comfort her, she nodded as she smiled at me faintly. When we arrived, we head directly to the hospital where Sister Anabelle is admitted.
"Anabelle Dy?" Celestine asked when we reach the nurse station.
"Second Floor ma'am, room 264.." the nurse replied as Celestine nodded, I mouthed thank you as we walk fastly to the elevator.
"Calm down love.." I whispered as I caressed her back.
"Sorry mom, I just can't help it." She replied as tears are forming on her eyes again, I smiled at her as a response. When the elevator's door opened, we immediately searched for Sister Anabelle's room.
When we found it, we knocked first and we were welcomed by Celestine's friend, Hannah.
"Good afternoon po.." Hannah said as she looked at me.
"Good afternoon, hija." I replied and smiled.
"Gising naba siya?" Celestine asked as Hannah nodded, we entered the room as we saw Sister Anabelle laying on the hospital bed. Celestine cried quietly while slowly going near to the bed.
Sister Anabelle is shock to see us but manage to give us a smile. Celestine held her hand.
𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙖
When we entered the room, I know Sister Anabelle is shock to see us. I slowly went near to her, habang papalapit ako ng papalapit mas bumibigat yung pakiramdam ko kaya't hindi ko napigilang umiyak ng tahimik.
I slowly held her hands, "How are you?" I asked as I sobbed.
"You know, I don't want to see crying people.." She informed me, she doesn't want to see crying people because it makes her heart sad, lalo na kung mga importanteng tao sa buhay niya.
"Sorry Sister..." I uttered as I hug her, she was surprised but then she hug me back. After minutes of hugging, I withdrew from it as I wipe my tears and sighed.
"How are you feeling?" I asked softly.
"Wala kabang pasok sa lunes?" She asked, I know she's trying to change the topic.
"Wala, now I want you to answer me please... Kumusta yung pakiramdam mo?" I asked.
"Hindi naman ako makakapag-sinungaling sayo, I'm not feeling well, masakit yung ulo ko." She replied as she smiled weakly.
"Ipapatanggal natin yan, Sister..." I said, as I looked at mommy, she smiled at me as she nodded.
"Kami na po yung gagastos sa lahat, ang kailangan mo lang gawin ay lumaban.." I said as I smile at her.
"No, wag na.. Kahit kunin pa itong bukol na ito, babalik parin siya. This is not the usual brain tumor, this is a cancerus type of tumor. Masasayang lang pera." She told us.
"Are you sure na cancerus yan? We can request for a second opinion.." I suggested.
"tine, okay na ako. Okay na ako sa binigay ng Panginoon na panahon para sakin, tapos na ang misyon ko dito and if it is his will to take me, then thy will be done.." She said, everyone is quiet.
"Marami pa tayong gagawin, babawi pa ako sayo eh.." I said, while crying.
She held my hand, "bawing-bawi kana, yung mga ginawa ko para sayo, that was genuine at wala akong hinihintay na kapalit. My mission was to find and give you back to your parents which we did, yun yung dasal ko araw-araw na sana bago niya ako kunin, maisauli muna kita sa mga magulang mo..." She whispered which made me cry more.
"I owe so much, thank you for everything. You're the best and I want you to know that I love you." I said as I hugged her.
"You're making me cry, stop na. I love you too, always remember that. My presence may not be physically, but I will be always in your heart.." She told me.
"Kung sakaling mawala na ako, don't forget the lesson's I taught you way back. Dalhin mo yun hanggang sa pagtanda mo.. Alam kong mamimiss ako ni Sister Theressa kaya palagi mo siyang kukumustahin ha?" She said as I nodded, after we talked, I told her to eat first. I get out of her room as I cried so hard, mommy hugged me immediately as she caressed my back softly.
