Chapter 81 (We will defeat them as a team)
Wei Zhan took a deep breath, like a piece of heavy stone that has been pressing on his chest had been uplifted. He always worries that Boyi is too young and he is just a liking to Boyi but having the young boy's commitment, Wei Zhan felt relieved and happy.
"Deal, grandpa"
"You win" Wei Zhan rolls his eyes when telling his grandpa
The teasing and laughing voice came over
"I always will win"
"Hahahaha"
Grandpa laughs so heartily like no tomorrow that in the end it even ended up with a cough, because of those happy emotions that he had been waiting for years to fulfill this promise to his old comrade and not only that, now he knows very well that his dear grandson is truly in love with Boyi, wouldn't it like a happy double joy and so the old man is actually laughing so much like he is eating too much that the stomach becomes too much and couldn't stomach the food. Now, the old man is laughing too much that his stomach begins to ache and he turns into a cough.
The phone is still on speaker and thus making the old man so happy that he coughed so much, due to overwhelming joy and happiness.
"Ahhh....oh my..." grandpa could only laugh at himself.
Wei Zhan finds this opportunity to tease the old man
"Grandpa, are you alright?" Wei Zhan seems to have a teasing and happy tone, his baby had just agreed to get the marriage certificate with him, to Wei Zhan, this seems like a guarantee at least for now. Boyi is so beautifully handsome and honestly, Wei Zhan does have fear of anyone interacting with him. Boyi always has a kind and caring nature and of course, the young heir knew how innocent he is and if he himself can be swiped away by him with love, of course, others will also find his baby attractive. Honestly, the young heir can have anything under the sun but he knew that having Boyi is the only thing that he wishes for now, no other thing can compare to him. Boyi has not only occupied his heart but his entirety and totality till it is now impossible for Wei Zhan to survive without him.
Grandpa Wei's cough turns into a burst of hearty laughter and it radiates loudly over the speaker's phone
"Of course, I am alright"
"I am more than alright"
"I am amazingly alright"
"I am wonderfully alright"
"I am....."
Wei Zhan had never heard so many descriptive words from his grandfather and it seems so unreal that he soon realized the similarity that he had with his grandfather. Both of them are stubbornly proud and arrogant men but his grandfather is more of a military strategist which benefited that country greater although, during those years of holding up the Wei Corporation, his grandfather was able to maintain the Wei Corporation from any downslope trend his talent is more so on the military. Wei Zhan however, does not have an interest in the military but he is more so of a born businessman, the Wei Corporation was not only able to maintain its position in China but had a well-grounded position internationally as well. However, both the grandfather and him are men of few words and can only open up themselves when it comes to someone that had impacted and occupied their hearts.
"Grandpa!" Wei Zhan shouted but his heart is full of love and tenderness for his grandfather.
Boyi is even shyer than ever and he just lowers his head and smiles sweetly in his heart. What he had least expected in this life was that he will be able to find love and he just did with Wei Zhan who had just confessed to him. The cute boy felt his soul being taken to heaven to be filled with the heavenly blessing and it has now been stored fully in his heart.
Grandpa had just had his dream fulfilled and satisfied to the fullest and now his voice is gently like the morning breeze.
"Alright, tell me the details of the person, you want me to track?" grandpa finally wants to do his part now.
Wei Zhan breathe a deep relief and then he told his grandpa
"I will send the details to your mobile" Wei Zhan told grandpa and while he was talking, his slim fingers are already typing away the information to his grandpa.
"Ding" the notification comes onto the grandfather's mobile, loud and clear.
However, grandpa didn't end the mobile immediately, and instead, he is now concerned for both of their safety.
"Do you want military posting at the HQ and home?" grandpa asked, as, in China, high-level officers can request military postings of officers once they found the family is under threat.
Wei Zhan hesitated for a while and then he told grandpa
"No, I will get Lam to increase the security staffing," Wei Zhan told grandpa
Grandpa knew the stubbornness of Wei Zhan as coming to him for help is already breaking down the heavy wall and thus he doesn't want to push too much. However, the old man couldn't help but still mumbles his caring words
"Be careful"
"It doesn't take a cockroach to go against the Wei's"
"Keep Boyi by your side till the matter is over"
The old man is not only concerned about Wei Zhan but also the cute boy because this innocent kid has just entered into the world of danger unknowingly.
Wei Zhan also has this measure in his heart but still, he thanks his grandpa
"Mm"
"I know"
"I will keep Boyi by my side"
Wei Zhan assured his grandpa and the phone call finally ended with grandpa telling Wei Zhan
"I will get back to you as soon as possible"
The phone call finally ended with a win-win situation. Wei Zhan knew firsthand that he could never win when it comes to his grandfather.
Now looking at Boyi beside him, his challenging eyes immediately turn tender and soft for him, Wei Zhan took Boyi's head and lean closer to his mouth and kiss Boyi's forehead.
"Let's get ready to work okay?" Wei Zhan asks Boyi with a deep smile.
Suddenly, Boyi's eyes seem to be stuck on the face of Wei Zhan and he didn't even want to blink like he is afraid that he might miss out on some details.
Wei Zhan stare at the penetrating eyes and asks
"What wrong?"
"Something on my face?" then the young heir subconsciously moves his palm along his face and looks at those unblinking. serious and beautifully big doe eyes that are staring at him like he is an experimental object.
Boyi still refused to turn his head away but then his mouth muscles finally managed o gather some strength and begin to do the work.
"Your smile is very good"
Boyi looks at Wei Zhan and wonders why such a sweet and toothy smile is always hidden with the cold and icy face.
Wei Zhan was shocked for a while with that unexpected praise from Boyi, love and tenderness flowed from his face to his heart and slowly enchanted that smiling face, and his breath hitched for a moment, and all he could do was to tightly hold the cute boy's hand and with a nature that unknown to him or that which was withholding and sunk into the deepest part of his life that he even felt that he had lost them but now resurfaced and revived those feelings in his heart, he tenderly told Boyi
"That is only for one person"
"That person is only YOU"
Boyi was shocked by Wei Zhan's declaration of love and his eyes were diluted and show lots of white like he is going to faint it is due to the overwhelming sense of surprise and shock. Recently, Boyi sensed that Wei Zhan 'likes' him a lot by all the kisses on his face and also holding his hand tightly but now he realized that the feelings that Wei Zhan had for him is deeper than that and he was immensely joyful and happy till his heart is beating fast and his face feels hot with brushes and his brains seems heavy.
Wei Zhan saw his expression and was of course worried
"Hey, are you alright?" the young heir starts to stroke his hair gently.
The shy boy can only lower his head and hummed but he was trying to steady his racing heartbeats.
Then, Wei Zhan who is a demanding and brilliant businessman asks for an exchange
"Then, since you know that my smile is only for you, then you have to give me something," Wei Zhan told Boyi, and the young heir demanded every further
"Something that is only for me," Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi is completely blurred by the demand and he suddenly faces Wei Zhan and gives his sunny smile. Wei Zhan looks at the cute boy but he used his finger to tap on his cute nose
"You have a sunny smile for everyone"
"I want something that no one can have"
Wei Zhan is like a kindergarten kid now, he wants exclusivity from Boyi
Boyi frowns and he didn't know how to reply, the young heir has almost everything under the sun.
After a while, noticing Boyi's silence the young heir then told Boyi his demands
"I want your heart," Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi was shocked and he automatically covered his chest and looks at Wei Zhan and shakes his head
"No" Boyi told Wei Zhan
Wei Zhan almost dropped dead and was slight angry till he saw the cute boy's fear
"I will be dead" Boyi told Wei Zhan with a matter of fact attitude
Wei Zhan let out a soft laugh and he then gathered his baby on his lap
"Silly"
"I want your heart to only have me inside" Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi then found his grounding and understand this demanding fiancé of his but still, he did not reply and honestly told Wei Zhan
"Sometimes, my heart will have Aunty Zhang and Uncle Zhan, and also my buddies, maybe also grandpa as he is getting old" the cute boy replied Wei Zhan squarely as he doesn't want to cheat and doesn't think he can fulfill that request fully.
Wei Zhan just continues to hug his baby tightly, this is what he loves Boyi the most, his sincere and honest love, Boyi is a person that doesn't like to hide and his intention is often written on his face, being with Boyi, Wei Zhan always feels comfortable and relax, something that he can never find in anyone else.
"Alright, then most me in your heart," Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi immediately has great light in his eyes and he nods instantly and quickly, the warmth of having Boyi in his arm is so good that the young heir drops his head on Boyi's shoulder and continues to hug him like a baby until his happy moment was interrupted by Lam who knock on the door of the hidden bedroom.
Lam was very hesitant but he knew he needed to do his job and therefore with trembling heart, the hand moved his unwilling hand and knock on the door.
"Boss.... ehem...." Lam hesitated and waited for some kind of response.
Inside the hidden bedroom, Boyi heard the knock first and he hurriedly distances himself from Wei Zhan which makes Wei Zhan frowns with a loss of warmth from the cute boy.
"Lam calls you" Boyi told Wei Zhan and the boy is already very red on the face.
Wei Zhan always loves the look of the cute boy when he is like a pink lobster and so he smiles slightly at Boyi and then pinches his cute nose.
"I heard it"
"You are too cute and it is better to get out of here now"
Wei Zhan looks at Boyi, and then his mind has to make a determined decision to leave the bedroom.
Wei Zhan stands up and took the boy's hand and he opened the door and saw his head of Lam as Lam bowed his head down so as not to see those unhappy eyes.
Wei Zhan came out of the room with Boyi tugging behind him and he showed a stern-looking face to Lam, Wei Zhan continue walking with Lam followed behind carefully.
Everyone lifted their head up when Wei Zhan came out, Li Ning and Lam already set up the working station, and another set of tables and chairs were set up for some security team members to sit and wait for action.
Wei Zhan took control of the situation and stands in front of everyone and told them
"Chairman Wei will be tracking the overseas number of Mr Hung" Wei Zhan acknowledges and there were sounds of slight mumbling of relief and nodding of appreciation from the team members.
Everyone sitting at the table was given instructions.
"Ning, check on the stock market of Sun-X history, every detail of it, find everything you know about the company and the family behind this company"
"Lam, track the cleaner with the facial recognition and works with your connection"
"You two, James and Frank, go through the company's security systems' camera and see if there is any suspicious person in the company"
"Boyi, find out more information about Mr Hung from Jinho your buddy as the family has some reputation in Korea" Wei Zhan told Boyi and Boyi was a little surprised that Wei Zhan knew so much about Jinho. Actually, anyone that comes into contact with Boyi has been checked by Wei Zhan, he will never allow anyone close to Boyi that will endanger him, he did not let Boyi knows about this till now and Lam looks a little guilty and pretend to fervently type on his laptop because all the security check were done by him.
However, the shocked look on Boyi's face when he looked at Wei Zhan were turned into gentleness when Wei Zhan told him all in one sentence
"How can I let anyone dangerous near you?" Wei Zhan told him that his eyes were full of tenderness and soft when talking to Boyi and it was totally opposite when he was commanding the others.
Boyi senses those differences immediately and he only has love and care for Wei Zhan in his mind hurriedly he nods and told Wei Zhan like a team member and Boyi is happy to be able to help.
"I don't know much about Jinho's family business" Boyi admittedly told Wei Zhan as he knows Jinho as a good buddy and that he is quite well to do but Boyi never drill into his family business.
Lam immediately sparks up as he is in charge of security.
"Your bro comes from a good family of business from generations and his two big brothers are managing the company and there are very well respected in the country," Lam told Boyi
Wei Zhan then walks towards Boyi and stokes his soft hair openly
"Korea is a close-up and well-knitted society, to get the more insidious information, it is better to get it from someone with connection, although Wei Corporation has business dealings with some Korea company, they will only provide public information to us" Wei Zhan told Boyi.
Boyi who is new to the business world can only listen with all ears and do what Wei Zhan told him to do.
"So, Boyi's buddy will be the best source of information" thus Wei Zhan is very proud of Boyi's 'connection' and his hand just couldn't stop stoking the cute head of Boyi until Boyi feels all eyes are on him and the last stoke from Wei Zhan, Boyi dodge his head. Wei Zhan looks at Boyi with his flushed red face and he understood.
Boyi also immediately nods and told them
"I will call Jinho after the meeting" the cute teenager even took out his laptop and write down what he wants to do and ask Jinho.
Later, Wei Zhan turns around and continues his operations,
"Get the ladies in" Wei Zhan eyed Li Ning and Lam and immediately Lam left to get the ladies in and all of them were trusted personnel
Wei Zhan just told them the story of the hidden camera and told them
"There is a recording system of personnel coming to this level to meet anyone of us, check through the system for the last month, very thoroughly and not miss a bit of anyone that seems suspicious to your eyes," Wei Zhan told the ladies and immediately three of them responded immediately
"Yes, Sir" the three ladies were about to go out but Lucy then stops and turned around and the other two ladies also stopped and stare at her for a while.
Lucy walks towards the working team who are now all working on their laptop
"Sir, the Finance General Manager, Mr Tong asks about the contract with Sun-X" Lucy frowns slightly when she thinks of the manager because it is a bit abnormal for the manager to query over a project as the decision usually comes only from Wei Zhan and no one else.
Immediately, alert faces all over the team, the two ladies behind Lucy also confirmed the query from the Fiance General Manager, Mr Tong by nodding and mumbling affirmative words.
Wei Zhan raised his brows as he actually didn't like this Mr Tong too much, he is one of the old guards from his grandfather's legacy. Mr Tong is a man in his late fifties and he has a daughter that he often wanted to introduce to Wei Zhan but was turned down sternly, not only because Wei Zhan didn't like the girl but the sharp young heir sees a scheme behind the old man Mr Tong. However, Wei Zhan hasn't caught anything bad about this scheming man yet but this information makes Wei Zhan more alert about him.
Wei Zhan turns to Lam
"Track Mr Tong's mobile track record" the commander in the room immediately gives instruction and Lam nods earnestly.
Lucy seems happy that the information can be of help to the boss, Wei Zhan is a very fair man although he is a man of few words, he looks at Lucy and nods
"You did well," Wei Zhan told Lucy, and the smile on her face, stretch across her face, everyone knew that it is really hard to get any praise from the young heir after all he is a man of a super high standard.
The team looks at Lucy and gives her a high thumb up especially Boyi who gave her both thumb up with a great smile.
Wei Zhan is a man of high demands and so he looks at the team and he asks them straightforwardly
"It might be a long hours of work for the past few days, so please inform your family"
"I will definitely make good the remuneration"
"Thank you for your hard work"
The speech doesn't even sound like Wei Zhan as it is too gentle and of course, all of them knew that it was due to Boyi who is here. However, the team eyed each other but didn't dare to speak a word at all. Li Ning has the most senior post and so he speaks behind of them
"Sir, we will work hard to bring down anyone that works against us," Li Ning told Wei Zhan
Boyi heard it and he knew in his heart that these people that are loyal to Wei Zhan are not only because of the high pay but Wei Zhan is just a man of fairness and high intellect, following him means working under a great leader which is hard to come by.
Everyone is working hard with Wei Zhan sitting on the top of the table, commanding and looking if any information comes it and it will be recorded by Li Ning.
Although the atmosphere is pretty tense as everyone is now working hard, Wei Zhan had finished his job distribution of the task force team and he looks at everyone although the atmosphere is tense all of them have a very determined faces and the aura from the team makes everyone feels the combined and invisible force that nothing can stop them from battling this company that has ulterior motive towards the Wei Company.
Wei Zhan then looks at everyone and told them
"We will defeat them together as a team"
Everyone stands up and shouted loudly
"Yes"
"Defeat them! Defeat them! Defeat them!"
It feels like the battle has already been won before it even started.
