Chapter 47 (LOVE CONCOCTION)
Wei Zhan looks pleased and yet not pleased, he listens very carefully, he nods, he listens, he acknowledged, he thinks, he frowns then he looks at Boyi. He is not unpleased, he is not angry but he felt somehow, something is missing, like he is expecting more, expecting what?. He doesn't know but he wanted more from Boyi, more than a friend or what? He is still thinking looking at the person in front of him.
Boyi looks at Wei Zhan and felt that he might not be pleased with him, and now he is worried, maybe, he did not give a good reason for helping Wei Zhan, so the boy is a little worried and he panics a bit, he looks at Wei Zhan with his worried eyes
"Ehhh.....I have no family now, other than the Zhangs, so...so...maybe....we...can act ...like ...f-family...like ....relative...." Boyi was thinking maybe this is what Wei Zhan wanted, he is not happy as a friend, and if Wei Zhan wanted a friend, he had his buddies who are more mature and useful than himself, just an ordinary University student.
Boyi is actually at a loss, he hasn't learned how to satisfy people, his last life is like a complete waste, thus relationship-wise, Boyi is not sure about many things.
Wei Zhan saw the boy's hesitation and worry and he knew he had once again made the boy nervous, and for that, he cursed himself and thus draw himself out of his reverie. Now looking at the boy, Wei Zhan soften his stance and then talk to him
"We are helping each other, we live together for now, so..yeah...we are close like family," Wei Zhan told Boyi.
Boyi nods and then he moves his legs together as he suddenly feels shy, he did not expect Wei Zhan to come to his room, and so as the weather is a bit hot, he is wearing shorts, although it is the long type to his knee, also he is wearing a baggy T-shirt, long but it is short sleeve till his elbow and so to Boyi, it is already quite a lot of skin being exposed.
Wei Zhan suddenly looks at those legs moving and realized that this is the first time, he saw the boy in short, usually, he is fully covered and he saw the boy is all shy. Now, his curious eyes wander around those fair porcelain legs and the arms and due to the baggy T-shirt, of course, his collar bone is now being exposed.
Seeing the boy hanging his head low, Wei Zhan took this opportunity to feast himself by looking at all the exposed parts of Boyi, and his heart rate is not healthy now...., it is beating fast and when Boyi lift up his head, Wei Zhan almost had a heart attack, fortunately, the well-trained heir clamped his fist together to steady himself. The boy is more beautiful than a girl and this is just overwhelming for Wei Zhan as he had never seen anyone like Boyi.
"I-I..going to change for dinner," Boyi told Wei Zhan as he hurriedly stand up and ran to the bathroom, and slammed the door shut.
The slamming moment is a moment of relief for Wei Zhan as he is too overwhelming and this kind of wakes him up, he took several deep breaths to steady himself.
Boyi changed himself quickly as he was just fed up with himself, he should have changed into his long-sleeve T-shirt and long track pant but because he is doing his homework and so he kept delaying his time as he did not expect Wei Zhan to come back so early after all for the past few weeks Wei Zhan had been working till late.
Now, Boyi hates his 'over-smart' head, as Wei Zhan is the big boss of course he can come home anytime as if there is anyone that can stop him. Thinking about this, Boyi only has himself to blame. He should not assume that Wei Zhan will come home late as this is his home, his apartment. Boyi just dress so casually and exposed his own weakness. To Boyi, he doesn't like this part of him, he is so different from others, he doesn't have much hair and he is too fair and white. He often got teased by his classmates when he was young. He did not enjoy his youth time.
Boyi came out in a few minutes and found Wei Zhan still sitting on his room sofa and waiting for him and he hurriedly sit opposite Wei Zhan with curious eyes as it is about dinner time.
Wei Zhan then asks Boyi
"Boyi, I have one more matter to discuss with you?" Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi widens his eyes and listens actively
"I wanted to know if you are interested in going into entertainment, as from you last singing on the youtube, it is very popular and even my own company All Stars Entertainment is interested in talking to you" Wei Zhan eyed Boyi and he asks with a heavy heart.
Wei Zhan knew how innocent Boyi is and getting into the entertainment business would be easy for him to fall into traps or fake rumors but he did not want to not talk to Boyi, he wanted Boyi to know and make his own decision and hopefully one that will be according to his will.
Boyi blushes a little and he looks at Wei Zhan
"I don't know yet, but I know that I want to complete my university as I have another one and half years to go. Singing and composing is what I like but going into entertainment, I am not sure....." Boyi trails away, waiting for Wei Zhan as his head is all confused and he asks Wei Zhan again
"Zhan-ge, I really don't know, but I want to earn money to help L&M, also I don't want to affect my studies.....I am....really...don't know......"
Suddenly Boyi asks
"Will being in the entertainment affect you, I mean....will the Wei family like it" the boy pours out everything and empties himself on the table, his loss, his doubts, his fear for the unknown, and also his worry about Wei Zhan.
Wei Zhan's heart really touched this time round, this boy is very selfless and he trusted him so much.
"Boyi, Can I be honest with you?" Wei Zhan had first time in his life asking permission to speak his thought, even with his grandfather, he will just split out his ideas, the good, the bad, and the ugly. However, today he is just very tender and caring due to the boy in front of him.
Boyi nods and waited patiently
"Yes" and the sweet smile of Boyi fills the room with invisible joy.
"It is indeed complicated in the entertainment circle but I can try to protect you, you wanted to finish your university first which I think is a very good thought, but you also wanted to earn some money, which I think could be more of being a little independent which is good, but you actually don't have to worry about L&M, what I promised I will accomplish" Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi's face is full of thankfulness and he nods
Wei Zhan frowns and then he thinks
"When I was in England, I model as well because I just wanted to be independent as modeling doesn't affect my study too much....." before he can finish, Boyi claps his hand
"Zhan-ge is very handsome, a dashing model" the cute boy looks happy and smile at Wei Zhan, somehow, this innocent and adorable praise is more than anything that Wei Zhan had ever wanted, he looks at Boyi with a very intense eye like he wanted to confirm if the boy really finds him handsome as if being praised by all the newspaper and everyone is not worthy of just one sentence and word of praise from this boy in front of him.
"You think so?" the heir somehow becomes a little shameless and asks for more.
Boyi looks a little surprised at Wei Zhan, how come this handsome man doesn't know that he is handsome at all, so he told him by pointing at his eyes
"Zhan-ge had big eyes, sharp nose, nice cheek and a little cute mole" Boyi points at them and then relates it to Wei Zhan.
"So, everyone can have this?" Wei Zhan brazenly persist for more praise
"Huh!, No...."
"Zhan-ge is super handsome lor....." Boyi even raised his two thumbs up at Wei Zhan and then he giggles like a kid telling their parents that they are nice.
The young patriarch for once is a little lost at the moment, he likes the praise very much but also realized that the boy is praising him very innocently, with no attachment..., now the patriarch is frowning
"Why would he wants attachment"
How come he becomes very demanding from this boy in front of him, however looking at those cute looks, Wei Zhan calms down.
Boyi then looks at Wei Zhan
"I can just be a model if they want me...." Boyi looks at the window like he is air and not aware of how attractive he is.
Wei Zhan couldn't believe this boy and then he told Boyi
"How about you model for my company?"
"Do you want that?" Wei Zhan asks Boyi, actually, Wei Zhan really did not want this boy to do anything that is not under his control or maybe protection.
Boyi eyes immediately bright up
"I-I g-good en-enough for your company," Boyi asks with his shocking face, Wei Zhan's company is one of the tops in the world, even if he is not in business yet, he knows, the internet news is always flashing about what deals and what co-operation Wei Corporation is having. Of course, the photos of Wei Zhan signing contracts even in his private room in his office were sometimes allowed to publish in the news.
Wei Zhan nods and in his mind
"You are better than all the models we have"
Boyi is very excited but suddenly the boy looks at Wei Zhan with serious eyes
"T-Then if I model for your company, I don't want money," Boyi told Wei Zhan
Wei Zhan was shocked for a moment, and without further thought, he asks
"Thought you want to earn money," Wei Zhan asks
Boyi nods
"Yes, but not your money, you already helped me so much. I don't want to earn your money" Boyi is now a stubborn mule as he pursed his lips, sitting straight like nothing is negotiable
"So Adorable"
Wei Zhan is absolutely delighted and touched by this cute boy, who in the world would not want to earn Wei Corporation money, people get close to him because of money. He knew that they might like him but usually more for his wealth. This boy is just straight like a pole and refused to be bent and didn't want his money.
"Hey, there is always a budget and if you don't take the money then the staff will waste it on other things," Wei Zhan told Boyi, of course, this is only a half-truth, who would dare to do such things but they may increase the usage of other things since there is still extra money left.
Boyi turns his head and looks a little confused
"Huh!"
"Really"
Wei Zhan nods
"T-Then, I will take the money and then give it to you back and you use it for L&M" the boy is simple-minded and just wanted to help L&M.
Wei Zhan nods as he knew that this is probably the only way to get the boy to accept his well-deserved modeling fees.
"Alright, then let's go for dinner then" Wei Zhan finally told Boyi, and Boyi nodded and they went down for dinner happily.
Aunty Wong is cooking a storm and when she saw Wei Zhan came back early.
"Dinner, ready" Aunty Wong told them and three of them sit down and eat their dinner
Wei Zhan told Aunty Wong about them going back to Wei Mansion for Lantern Festival
"Grandpa wanted me to bring Boyi home on Lantern Festival," Wei Zhan told Aunty Wong as this lady has been working so long in the family that she can help to ease Boyi's fear and anxiety
"Wow!!!!!"
"The Old Master works fast" Aunty Wong couldn't help it but she burst out the grandpa's plan and then she covers up by eating a lot of rice
"Ehem....I-I mean old master is still able to walk fast, like morning exercise," Aunty Wong told both of them and of course, Wei Zhan is not taken in and only the innocent Boyi nods his head
"Old Master is very healthy is very good," Boyi told them.
Aunty Wong stretches out her hands and pats the boy's head
"Yeah"
Wei Zhan then told Aunty Wong his plan
"I will come home early for two weeks to help Boyi to get familiarized with me so that we will not be awkward in the Lantern Festival," Wei Zhan told Aunty Wong.
Aunty stops eating and then claps her hands happily.
"Good Idea, I will help you both then," Aunty Wong told both of them.
Boyi is an innocent baby and he just nods Wei Zhan frowns but he didn't want to ask in front of Boyi as the boy might be shy.
So, the dinner was peaceful and they chat about stuff in the Wei Family, like the members and who and who they are, the Wei Family also have external branches like cousins and other uncles and aunties that are like cousins of the Grandfather but they are insignificant members of the Wei Family but they will come.
After dinner, Boyi climbs the stairs back to his room to do his study while Wei Zhan stays back and he wanted to talk to his nanny.
"What do you mean you are helping, what kind of medicine are you brewing in your pot" Wei Zhan knew his nanny can be very cheeky and over helpful in certain ways.
Aunty Wong continue to do her washing and gave Wei Zhan a side look
"I am brewing a concoction to help you to progress since you are so slow like a dense donkey" Aunty Wong is the only one that dares to call Wei Zhan a donkey but she knew that Wei Zhan knew her though and though and whatever she is doing is always placing Wei Zhan's affairs first. She is like the second mother to Wei Zhan.
Wei Zhan heard the word 'concoction' and almost have a heart attack so he asks
"Huh?"
"What concoction?"
"Don't do anything funny" Wei Zhan warns Aunty Wong with a glare
Aunty drops her cleaning and has a mischievous and cheeky smile
"You will know the concoction when it comes," Aunty Wong told him
"What concoction?" Wei Zhan is now at the edge now
Aunty Wong smiles sweetly and told Wei Zhan softly
"It is a LOVE CONCOCTION"
