Chapter 46 (Heart to Heart Talk)
Wei Zhan finds that his face is hot but he endured it and he looks at his grandpa and it is true that sooner or later Boyi will have to face the Wei Family.
Grandpa looks at him and then sighs
"I agreed with what you said but I also have confidence in you to protect him," Grandpa told Wei Zhan.
"Alright, I will bring him back in two weeks' time" Wei Zhan looks at his grandpa with a slight annoyance on his face as he really doesn't think it was a good idea to expose the poor innocent lamb to the public and suffers from no freedom
Many see the wealth and prestige position held by the Wei family especially Wei Zhan, it is undeniable that he had a lot of power and with a click of his fingers things are being down. However, it also has its curses as Wei Zhan had lost his freedom and he spent his whole young and young life prospering Wei Corporation and not his life. As the business prospers, his personal life suffers, he was followed everywhere and now until he met Lam who uses his fierce warning to others and also when Wei Zhan is older, he started using law enforcement such as lawyers and business co-operations deals that now people dare not follows Wei Zhan around, less that gets backlashes.
Grandpa is of course aware of all the worries as he is all-time famous and he knew how bad it can be for young people.
Eating his snacks, he chats with Wei Zhan
"I heard you are helping the boy with his grandparent's company," Grandpa Wei asks Wei Zhan
Wei Zhan nods his head and of course, he dare not tell his grandpa that he make a contract marriage deal with Boyi.
Grandpa looks at him with hopes in his eyes
"Zhan-er, there are things that it is best you find out yourself and how much you find out will be how much time and effort you spent on the person" Grandpa Wei sighs
"You know I will never decide on anything that is bad for you, Grandpa always wants the best for you" Grandpa Wei sighs again.
Wei Zhan frowns as he did not get what information or matter that he doesn't know but he knew his grandpa will tell him if he deem right timing, so he endured it and listen.
"L&M is the company started by my dead comrade, I know that the company has gone downhill due to mismanagement. I just hope that it will see its' glorious days. The man that saved my life is dead and I am still alive and kicking, the least I can do is to help revive his bloodshed business" Grandpa tells Wei Zhan his thoughts on L&M.
Wei Zhan nods and assured his grandfather
"I know, grandpa"
"I am injecting money into it, the whole management needs revamp but the potential for this kind of business is good, don't worry," Wei Zhan told him
Grandpa raises his brow and looks at Wei Zhan
"You are using your own money?" Grandpa looks surprised
"Yeah, I don't want to involve Wei Corporation although I hold majority shares but still I think it is better this way" Wei Zhan told his grandpa
Grandpa Wei nods his head
"I agreed, your personal company is booming so well, I wonder if you now need my little money to help" Grandpa Wei teases his grandson
Wei Zhan knew when his grandfather is teasing him
"Grandpa!"
"I don't need your big money yet, I am doing fine," Wei Zhan told his grandfather
Grandpa Wei shakes his head, the current waves always out beat the former waves
"Good Good, you know this old man can still be useful if you want to use him" Grandpa Wei had great connections and of course, Wei Zhan is aware of it.
"I know," Wei Zhan nods at his grandfather.
Grandpa Wei then stretches his hands and legs
"Good, time to go back and nap now" Grandpa Wei stands up and he is very satisfied with his grandson and he leans forward and hugs him tightly which Wei Zhan also returned the hugs, in this world, he knew that his grandfather is the one that always has his interest in heart.
"Grandpa, take care," Wei Zhan told his grandfather.
When Grandpa wanted to get going, Wei Zhan stands up and walks with grandpa, he opens the door for his grandfather and walks with him. When Li Ning saw the chairman, he immediately get the team that are with the chairman ready to go back with the chairman. All the staff also standup and sent the chairman off.
The chairman is a very pleasant man when he sees people that are hardworking and doing their job well, he even turns around to all the secretaries, Li Ning and Lam, and smiles at them
"You all work hard" to the staff.
All the staff respectfully sent the chairman off
"Take Care, Chairman" all of them speak in one accord.
Li Ning, Lam, and Wei Zhan walk with the chairman together with his team till they come to the carpark and Grandpa got into his military car, which was given by the government that Wei Zhan and the team wave at him, then they all got back into their office.
Wei Zhan was quiet on the way back and no one dares to disturb his thought as they all walks back into the office, Wei Zhan signaled the two of them to follow him, and when the office door is closed, Wei Zhan speaks
"Grandpa wants Boyi to meet the family at Lantern Festival which is two weeks away," Wei Zhan told both of them, his most trusted aides.
Li Ning and Lam both frown as they knew what this means to little Boyi.
"Sir, what do you want me to do on the security side?" Lam asks
"Wei Zhan looks at him and he asks back
"Sent extra two more security from next week onwards and let them familiarize with the University and Boyi's friend. I will have to talk to Boyi because the two new security team members will be in disguise and he has to know who they are, I will insert them into the University Security Team, wearing the University Security Team uniform and so they can move around in the university freely but they are only there to protect the boy" Wei Zhan told Lam his plan.
Lam has to say that his boss is really good at this
"Great!" Lam gives a thumb up and he takes note of what he has to do.
Li Ning looks at Wei Zhan and then he asks
"What can I do then?" Li Ning asks as Wei Zhan seems to be thinking
Wei Zhan looks at him full of seriousness
"From now onwards till the two weeks, canceled all the night meeting and functions," Wei Zhan told Li Ning
"Okay Boss" Li Ning didn't dare to talk anymore but of course, their wonder brows of both Lam and himself could be seen by the sharp-eyed Wei Zhan
"I ehem....should spent more time with the boy to familiarize with each other, so that we would not be awkward on that day," Wei Zhan told them
Both Li Ning and Lam look at each other and tried to holds themselves but Lam couldn't control it and he "pfftt" and this is infectious because next Li Ning also couldn't hold it and both of them "Pfftt" at each other and they giggle with their eyes, laughing with no sound.
Wei Zhan looks at them and he gives them their furious eyes but there is a tint of red on his ears if anyone cares to be observant.
"What's wrong with yon both?"
"Do you have better ideas to offer?" Wei Zhan frowns angrily at them.
Both of them stops laughing which is hard and then wiped their face-off into serious mode.
"Sir, I think this is the best idea," Lam told Wei Zhan and he eyed Li Ning to add in
"Yeah, the best way to not make mistakes on that day" Li Ning supports the idea.
Wei Zhan then bow his head and then he suddenly raised his head
"Alright, go get things ready....."
"Out...both of you" this time around the voice is slightly loud, like chasing little children away and they dutifully stand up and walk out of the room in quick steps.
As soon as the door is closed both of them giggles loudly
"Hahahahaha......spent more time, why don't just say dating, home dating" Lam cheekily told Li Ning
Li Ning also laughs
"Hee Hee, oiii, don't embarrass the boss, okay" Li Ning slams Lam shoulder like buddies.
To their horror, suddenly Wei Zhan's door opens and he glares at them
"Too much free time?" asking them and both of them runs like the mouse
"No, now running with my ass in the air" Lam runs like a military man, and Li Ning hurriedly went back to his desk a few steps away, puffing away.
Wei Zhan then closed the door, he heard what they both said because he could see their mischievous look and he went to the door to lean his ears to listen, and when he heard what they said, and to his horror, he wasn't that angry and find it a little interesting......
Suddenly, the young patriarch buried his head into these piles of work and tell himself
"Don't think too much, that boy is only a kid", only then does his heart calm down and he begins to work hard.
Wei Zhan also has been having some headaches with Boyi's fame. Boyi has been so successful with his internet video that many companies have been calling his entertainment company that they wanted to meet the boy Boyi without knowing the boss relationship with that famous internet sensation that swiped the country's entertainment's interest.
Li Ning had numerous phone calls and he had blocked them through the instruction of Wei Zhan. Wei Zhan actually has been truly busy and didn't give this much thought. He is busy with revamping L&M and on top of his own work, thus he is often late.
Also, he knew he needs to have a chat with the boy and see where his interest lay, and also at the same time worry about how and if Boyi is ready to handle the fame.
Finally, with all these matters in his hand, he will go home early tonight and have a talk with the boy. Thus, time flew quickly, and by the time Wei Zhan is ready to go home at six earning lots of surprises from his team of secretaries, Li Ning and Lam.
As soon as Wei Zhan walks out of the office, Li Ning and Lam immediately packed up and follow behind. All the four secretaries were staring at each other with their shocking eyes and looking quite strange. Wei Zhan had been working late for the past few weeks and suddenly he is leaving early tonight.
Mrs. Tong is quite naughty and he told the other secretaries
"You think the boss is dating tonight?" Mrs Tong giggles
"I wonder who is the lucky one?" another secretary asks
"Well, the life of our boss partner is not an easy one" another secretary laments
"Well that is true, but true love will change everything," Mrs. Tong told all of them as she is the oldest secretary at the age of thirty, she got married last year after a lone search and realized that it is the man that she has been looking for, has all the time being there, it is her neighbor, she has been searching high and low and forget the one nearest to her and has been protecting and loving her, listening to all her frustration of love life, the sounding board is the one that understands and truly waited and loving her patiently till she realized and she immediately got married and until today she has no regret.
"Yeah, wise speak from the very experienced one" another secretary teases Mrs Tong
Just when Mrs Tong was about to speak, her mobile had a notification and the ID is Li Ning
"Finish off all your work quickly and leave," Li Ning told the girls.
"Ning asks us to finish all our work and leave," Mrs Tong told them and the four of them shouted
"Yayyyy!!!!!!"
Wei Zhan entered his apartment and find that all is quiet except Aunty Wong busy preparing for dinner
"Where is the boy?" Wei Zhan asks
"In his room, studying," Aunty Wong told Wei Zhan
"He is a good boy, always polite and very helpful. I chased him out of the kitchen, heh heh" Aunty Wong looks at Wei Zhan like she is expecting something.
"Hmm...I know" Wei Zhan told Aunty Wong, he has also known Aunty Wong from a young age and she wanted to know Wei Zhan's thoughts of Boyi, which of course Wei Zhan will not divulge to her.
Wei Zhan climbs up the stair and notices that the door is not closed, Boyi is a very pleasant boy, he usually doesn't close his door unless he is sleeping, he is considerate for Aunty Wong, worrying that she might need him for some help. Wei Zhan had noticed that and he was pleased.
Wei Zhan went into his master bedroom, hurriedly change into something comfortable, and he knew that there is still an hour before dinner and he would like to have a "heart to heart" talk with Boyi.
As he walks into Boyi's room, he notices that the boy is busy typing and his focused look is very serious and calm, sometimes he pursed his lip, making him very adorable.
"Boyi?" Wei Zhan catches his attention
"Huh?"
"Zhan-ge" Boyi smiles when he saw Wei Zhan
"Are you busy?" Wei Zhan asks
"Not really" Boyi replies and he also senses that Wei Zhan might want to talk to him because Wei Zhan doesn't usually come back so early or even go into his room.
"Come, sit down and have a talk" Wei Zhan pat on one of the sofas for Boyi to sit opposite him.
"Alright" Boy gets up from his study chair and walks to sit opposite Boyi.
'My grandfather came to the office to see me today" Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi immediately got a big worry
"Is he alright?" the concerned boy asks Wei Zhan
"Oh.., he is alright, but he wants me to bring you to meet the family at Lantern Festival which is only two weeks away," Wei Zhan told Boyi
Instantaneously, Boyi's big eyes were looking stunned at Wei Zhan and he kept quiet, he is fidgeting with fingers.
Wei Zhan knew the boy is anxious so he tried to talk to him slowly
"What do you think?" Wei Zhan wanted to see what and how Boyi feel about the meeting
Boyi looks at him blankly and took a while to reply
"I think if this has to be done, then I have to do it," Boyi told Wei Zhan
Wei Zhan nods his head
"Boyi, tell me your honest feeling about this, going to meet my family" Wei Zhan really wanted to know how the boy felt
Boyi looks at Wei Zhan with his little red eyes but he holds it, of course, he is worried, in fact, worry till death, bit only for himself but also for Wei Zhan.
"I am worried and nervous" the sincere boy speaks out
"What are you worried and nervous about?" Wei Zhan digs into Boyi's heart
Boyi looks a little uncomfortable but he speaks out
"I am worried that they find out about me, I might not do well or perform well enough. I can be too nervous and not good enough at all.....I-I..don't know....I am..scare...., I might spoil everything for you to succeed and take over Wei Corporation" then the boy burst out and his tears start flowing down.
Wei Zhan felt a pang in his heart that he had never felt before, he had seen tears and crying people begging him for mercy when they did wrong, but not with his boy, who hasn't done anything wrong but worrying that he couldn't do well and this is all not for himself but for someone else and that person is HIM. Wei Zhan is truly touched by this innocent boy.
Wei Zhan moves to sit beside Boyi and pats his shoulder
"Hey, if you don't want to go, it is fine. I will just say you are unwell to Grandpa" Wei Zhan told Boyi.
Boyi had a moment of relief but then his eyes turn gloomy again
Boyi knew from his rebirth that escaping is not the way to cope with life, he did not know at that time but he knew now, he was escaping, he got drunk and let others control his life because he wasn't coping well living with the Hos and also losing his parents. So, he doesn't want to escape anymore
"No, Zhan-ge, I will have to face it one day. I will go" the boy determined face, really touched Wei Zhan.
Boyi's still had tears on his face but he faced Wei Zhan
"Can you help me?" Boyi asks Wei Zhan
Wei Zhan's hand just stretch up and he wipe away those tears on his face, those smooth skin touched by the slim fingers of Wei Zhan, Wei Zhan felt the world spinning and he was dazed for a moment. Boyi was surprised and he couldn't help it but he pulls his face back due to shock
"Ahhh....sorry Boyi..." Wei Zhan realized he might be rude to touch the boy's face and he saw those pink rabbit ears
"So Cute!"
"No..no...I just..." Boyi also lost for words and he doesn't know how he feels but he felt his heart beating really fast, he dare not look at Wei Zhan anymore, the man is just too handsome.
Wei Zhan woke up from the trance and he told Boyi
"Yes, I will help you...." Wei Zhan voice is very gentle and soft like talking to a baby
Boyi heard the soft voice and he felt warm.
"Okay, then' the boy is no longer crying and he wipes his tears away and smile with his perfect teeth showing.
Boyi showed a lot of confidence in Wei Zhan, Wei Zhan is happy and he told Boyi
"Boyi, I appreciate your honesty, you are straight forward and I will help you, no, help both of us to do well, alright," Wei Zhan told Boyi
Boyi nods non-stopped, suddenly, he doesn't feel fear anymore.
"I will come home early from now onwards and we will spend more time together and get to know each other so that we won't be so awkward when we go back in two week's time.
Boyi smiles happily, in his mind and heart, with Wei Zhan, he wasn't afraid. Wei Zhan had helped him a lot and thus he trusts him, suddenly the next question shock him
"Boyi, why do you want to help me so much," Wei Zhan asks
Boyi looks at him innocently and a little lost
"Huh"
"You helped me a lot, I think I should help you too, you helped with L&M, you teach me swimming and also helped me with homework and I am staying in your apartment. You take good care of me like a ........a good friend, so I naturally wanted to help you" Boyi told Wei Zhan, he also doesn't know if this is what he feels but he really wanted to help Wei Zhan, more than he wanted for himself, suddenly Wei Zhan also becomes very important to him.
Wei Zhan looks pleased and yet not pleased, he listens very carefully, he nods, he listens, he acknowledged, he thinks, he frowns then he looks at Boyi. He is not unpleased, he is not angry but he felt somehow, something is missing, like he is expecting more, expecting what?. He doesn't know but he wanted more from Boyi, more than a friend or what? He is still thinking looking at the person in front of him.
