Part 14
"That other boy didn't even look that attractive. He has blackish blue hair and is slightly more tanned than she, Bella, and me." Edward said.
He continued to explain his side of the story:
"I watched her like a hawk and saw that she went to a hospital. I didn't want to go inside because I might get identified by locals..."
"I went on the windows and when I found her scent in one room I went to that window and saw that she is visiting him of all people."
"You're clearly jealous of this boy. It's obvious," Jasper remarked.
"Damn it, Jasper. I'm not jealous! I'm indignant and outraged." Edward asserted.
Edward continued explaining:
"I daydreamed about her and me together and I was so caught in the moment, I didn't notice the sun is out and it revealed me and they saw me from inside the room..."
"I didn't want her to run away with him so I broke through the window and tried to stop them. I was thinking about grabbing them and taking them to a secluded area but they were too fast and managed to escape the room.."
"I had no choice but to run away,"
"Because of her and him, Bella doesn't love me anymore. If they never snitched, Bella wouldn't have left me."
"That's it."
"And you didn't realize there were surveillance cameras in the room," Emmett said.
"Are you willing to expose your secret just to fulfill your desires? The Volturi will find out about us because of you," Jasper said.
"No, I never wanted the Volturi to discover us. Besides, it's impossible that those children believe that vampires exist," Edward said.
"Edward! Stop! How can you not see that that girl doesn't like you?!" Emmett said.
Edward hesitated and lowered his head.
"Do you really not know or you do know and don't care?" Jasper asked.
"I need to be alone," Edward said, speeding away.
I may not understand what she says but I know she doesn't love me back. Edward thought.
But she doesn't understand what she is missing out on. I will show her and then she will know that she should've chosen me and not him. But I can't do that anymore because she is too stubborn and thick.
I will make sure he can't have her. That will teach him and her a lesson for taking away my happiness. And when they're dead, they won't be able to know the existence of vampires. Edward thought, hellbent on revenge.
Edward encounters Bella, who is sitting on a rock, staring into space.
Upon seeing Edward, Bella grimaced and turned away.
"Bella, I need to tell you something," Edward said.
"No, I don't want to talk to you," Bella said.
"Please listen to me. It's urgent." Edward said.
Bella sighed in exasperation and turned to look at Edward.
Edward lowered his head and sighed heavily. He lifts up his head and looked at Bella with forlorn eyes.
"I'm sorry. For everything." Edward began.
Bella gasps and widened her eyes in shock.
"I was selfish and didn't take your feelings into account. I realized the other girl I was chasing after is no fun at all and that I should've been with you because you truly love me," Edward continued.
"After this incident, I realized I've already got what I wanted," Edward said.
Bella places her hands over her mouth, touched by Edward's apology.
She grabs Edward and hugs him. Edward looks back at Bella with a suspicious and devious expression.
The plan worked. She fell for it. Once I get Bella back, I will be able to lie to her that I'm searching for a meadow for us so that the others won't know I'm actually meeting those two Korean children. Edward thought.
Edward and Bella then look at each other and kiss.
Meanwhile...
Hyun-ae arrived home from school after walking home with her friends. Upon approaching the front door, there is a note. It was from her parents.
"Gone to the market. Be back soon. -Mom & Dad"
"Oh, they're getting groceries." Hyun-ae deduced. She takes the note off the door and walks inside.
"Unnie, you're home!" Seohyun said, running towards Hyun-ae and hugging her legs.
"Glad to see you, Seohyun," Hyun-ae said, hugging Seohyun back.
"It's my turn to cook dinner tonight," Hyun-ae said eagerly.
"What are we having for dinner?" Seohyun asked.
"Tteok-bokki," Hyun-ae replied.
"Yay! Yummy!" Seohyun cheered.
"And it's the dish Bella hates," Hyun-ae said smiling mischievously.
"Oh her, she sounded mean," Seohyun remarked.
Hyun-ae walks into her bedroom and exits with clean clothes.
"I'm gonna wash up," Hyun-ae told Seohyun.
"I'll be on the lookout for customers," Seohyun said, running away.
Hyun-ae enters the upstairs bathroom and closes the door behind her. She places her clean, dry clothes on a clothes rack, disrobes, and turns on the shower.
Outside of the Jang inn, Jacob arrived to spy on Hyun-ae as usual.
He jumps onto the rooftop and hops onto a tree branch next to the upstairs bathroom window. Hearing the sound of shower water running, Jacob knew what is happening.
This is exciting. Jacob thought. He leans over and places his ear next to the window.
Hyun-ae walked over to the bathroom window where the bath products are stored. She grabs the shampoo bottle, which happened to be leaning against the window itself.
When Hyun-ae picked up the shampoo, the bottle rubbed against the fogged window, revealing whatever is outside.
Hyun-ae stopped dead in her tracks upon seeing a person's ear leaned against the window. Hyun-ae drops the shampoo bottle, yelps, and stumbles backward.
She slips on the water on the floor and falls backward into a sitting position. Hyun-ae screams in pain and groans.
Upon hearing Hyun-ae's pained scream and groans, Jacob immediately became worried and turned to peek inside the window to see what happened to Hyun-ae. Through the wiped-out section of the fogged window, he can see Hyun-ae sitting on the wet shower floor, wincing in pain.
Jacob continued staring at Hyun-ae to make sure she is okay while simultaneously examining her body.
Oh no...it's happening again. I'm so hard... Jacob thought. He can feel his shorts stretching as a bulge forms. Jacob looked downwards, seeing he has an erection.
Oh no, I can't help it. I can't control it...I must satisfy the urge! Jacob thought licentiously. He turned to Hyun-ae again with a predatory expression.
Hyun-ae opened her eyes after the tingling pain diminished. She looked back at where she saw the stranger's ear to see if the person is still there.
To her horror, she can see the person's face.
Jacob's mouth is agape. His tongue hanging out, drool spilling out of his mouth, and his eyes wide as big as golf balls.
Hyun-ae recognized the voyeur peeking through the window. She became frozen in fear again. She wanted to run out of the bathroom and get help but couldn't.
After a long minute, Hyun-ae finally let out a bloodcurdling scream, covering her torso with her arms in the process.
Seohyun, who was downstairs and doing her homework, stopped working and looked upward.
Hyun-ae's scream startled Jacob, causing him to lose his balance and fall from the tree branch, landing on the ground on his back. Upon landing on the ground, a loud thud boomed.
The impact caused part of the inn to shake. Seohyun gasped and turned to the window after feeling the vibration from Jacob's fall. She ran to the window and pulled down one of the blinds.
To her shock, she spotted a shirtless man lying on the ground flat on his back and groaning in pain. Seohyun jumped back, placing her hand over her mouth. There is an intruder on her family's property.
Seohyun looked upward, contemplating on helping Hyun-ae first, and immediately ran upstairs.
Hyun-ae, still in the bathroom, grabbed her bathrobe, hastily put it on, and rushes out of the bathroom. She stopped when she got to the wall across the bathroom door and leaned against it.
Hyun-ae drops to her knees into a crouching position and buried her head into her knees, crying softly afterward. Seohyun finally arrived and gasps upon seeing Hyun-ae crouching and trembling in fear.
"Unnie!" Seohyun screamed running towards Hyun-ae.
"Seohyun...call...the..police..." Hyun-ae muttered with a broken, teary voice.
"Unnie, there's a burglar outside!" Seohyun warned Hyun-ae, pointing to the direction where she saw Jacob.
"Call the police! There was a pervert watching me shower!" Hyun-ae shouted tearfully.
"Pervert?" Seohyun uttered in confusion. She gasps in horror upon having an epiphany.
"The burglar is the pervert! He fell down from a tree and I felt the ground shaking!" Seohyun shouted.
"I'm calling the police!" Seohyun shouted, running into Hyun-ae's room to borrow her phone.
She picked up Hyun-ae's phone and dialed 1-1-2.
Jacob rolled over and tried to stand up but ends up falling down again, still in pain. He rolls over again and slowly gets up in a sitting position. He rubbed his back and groaned even more.
"Ugh, I think I broke my butt," Jacob remarked, now rubbing his buttocks. He slowly stands up.
Police sirens wailed in the distance. Upon hearing the police sirens, Jacob immediately panics.
"Shit! She called the cops?!" Jacob said to himself, looking toward the direction the sirens came from.
He looked around to find a place to escape and jumped over the inn's stone wall fence. Right when he landed on the concrete on the other side. A police cruiser was now 20 feet away.
The police officers driving in the cruiser spotted Jacob.
"Look! That must be the intruder!" The younger police officer shouted, pointing at Jacob.
The older police officer, who is driving, steps on the car brake.
Jacob turned around and widened his eyes in shock, the police has arrived.
The police officers parked the car and exited their cruiser.
"Hey! Stop right there!" the younger officer shouted, running after Jacob.
Seohyun and Hyun-ae emerge from the inn gate and looked outside to see what happened.
Jacob turns around and runs as fast as his wolf legs can carry him.
"He's too fast!" the older officer shouted at his partner.
Hyun-ae and Seohyun watch as the police officers chase after Jacob.
As Jacob ran through the neighborhood, he knocked over a produce stand, angering the owner, who was present, in the process.
Passerby nearly trip and lose their balance as Jacob sped past them.
The two police officers ran as fast as they could until they could no longer run any further. Drained and overwhelmed, they stopped to catch their breath, putting their hands on their knees, lowering their heads, and panting in the process.
"It's no use! He's too fast!" The older officer moaned devastatingly, shaking his head in disbelief.
"He must be an Olympic sprinter or something." The younger officer speculated.
"This is so frustrating. We let him get away." The older officer snapped, in between breaths.
"It's not our fault that he runs like a cheetah," The younger officer said, assuring his partner.
"Let's go back," The older officer said.
When the police officers arrived back at the Jang inn, Mr. and Mrs. Jang had arrived home. Upon hearing what happened when their daughters were home alone, they were horrified.
"He was watching me shower," Hyun-ae told her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jang gasp in horror.
"We were informed by your younger daughter that there was an intruder with lascivious intentions on your property," The older police officer explained to Mr. and Mrs. Jang.
"He was watching Hyun-ae shower and then he fell off the tree after she screamed and that was how I discovered him," Seohyun further explained to her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jang glared indignantly.
"When we arrived, we saw him escaping and chased after him," The older officer explained.
"The intruder is one of the wanted criminals who happen to be foreigners," The younger officer informed.
"We did what we could but the intruder was extremely fast and he ended up getting away. We are really sorry," The younger police officer added, bowing in the process. The older officer bowed as well.
"Don't worry, you did what you could," Mrs. Jang said forgivingly.
"We will be patrolling this neighborhood for the time being." The older officer stated.
The Jangs sigh and gasp with hope.
"Just like the first police squad after the hospital break in two months ago. We are dealing with two elusive fugitives," The younger officer informed.
"Thank you so much," Mr. Jang said, bowing. The Jangs bow in unison to thank the officers.
"Stay safe and have a good night," The officers said before departing.
Later that night,
Jacob ran into the nearest forest next to a park. He hid behind a tree and breathed heavily to catch his breath.
"Yes, I lost them!" Jacob said, looking back.
He couldn't believe Hyun-ae's reaction towards him.
Why did she scream when she saw him?
I don't understand. Why was she scared when she saw me? I was watching her see she was okay. I'm not stalking her, I'm just watching her and making sure she's okay every minute and every second. Jacob thought.
Jacob's expression then turned to overconfidence.
She is playing hard to get. She just doesn't want to admit that she fancies me, too. Jacob thought.
