Chapter 3 (I am not alone anymore)
Boyi, steps on the oil and knew that he has to go somewhere quiet and calm to start planning for his new life.
The bike flew off from the Ho family house and drift into the wide road .........symbolically a boy moving along and venturing into the new direction, new pathway.......
The wind is blowing slowly and leisurely through the pathway that Boyi is riding on. From the house of the Ho Family, which is quite a distance from the city meaning Boyi will pass by a lot of luxurious single storied houses of riches where the wide road is covered by rolls of trees. Those trees are not swinging in the command of the wind, The leaves are playful as their lip up and down from the branches making it possible for the strong sun to try and penetrate through it making it like rays of light.
While Boyi was still riding on his bike, his mind seems to relax after allowing the wind to touch and gently smoothening off the tension on his face. However, although the external physical smoothening and relaxation help the internal turmoil. Boyi is still in a chaotic mind, everything is so ambiguous to him. There is no distinction and clear direction of the road. His mind is still adjusting to his present situation. He still doesn't have a plan or worst know where he is going.
Thus, the bike just roll on the road directionless, both the rider and the machine. Suddenly, Boyi eyes glance through a cemetery. His emotions in the heart fill him to the ears.
Yes! He wanted to go to the cemetery to see his parents, something that he has not done for a while, maybe reconnecting back to his original roots would help him to think better. Honestly, although Boyi is a modern boy, he has been reborn and thus he secretly hopes that his parent will play the part of guarding him.
With a direction in mind, the boy seems to be more able to relax, he is still able to remember the way to his parent's cemetery. It is about an hour's ride, however, there is no complaint but just looking forward to seeing his parent's grave, after all, Boyi believes that his rebirth is from his parent's blessing.
Through the dark road which is now covered by those thick widespread trees near the cemetery, Boyi sticks out his long neck to look for his parent's cemetery. Very quickly, Boyi can recognize the way because his parents are buried together, and also because of their wealth, it is a private cemetery standing by itself at the far end of all the other cemeteries. It has a small garden to it and both the parents are buried together jointly in the large garden.
Boyi's hand still controls the bike which is now riding slowly to reach the present home of his parents but the sadness and heartbreak is now trilling into Boyi's boys, the eyes are starting to get red and even his nose are now snorting. As soon as he reaches the grave, Boyi sprung up and runs towards his parents' grave in tears and he couldn't control his emotions anymore and as he runs, he trip on the way, Boyi fells on the hard concert but somehow he doesn't feel the sting, all he wants was to runs onto the embrace of his parents which is now only hard stone tablet. However, this is still his parents and it is a place where he could cry his suffocated heart out, it is a safe place for Boyi to grief.
The crying state of Boyi is worst than a baby deprived of milk. He bends his body down on the floor and cries his heart out
"Mom, dad, I-I am here"
"I d-don't what to do?"
"I a-am so lost without you both"
"P-Please guard me"
"Please, please speak to me"
"Please don't leave me alone in this world"
The more Boyi cries out loud to his parents, the more grief he feels, the feeling of being alone on the whole, the feeling of no one, absolutely no one that he feels like he can trust. The status of a one-man against the world is the feeling that Boyi is having now. Boy moves forward to hug the tablets of his mother
"Mom, y-you scarify for me"
"I-I don't want to let you down"
"I m-miss you"
"I-I am so lonely"
Speaking his heartfelt word helps to relieve that suffocation but never the pain in his heart.
"F-Father, you are my hero"
"Y-You make me who I am today"
"I m-miss you too"
Another round of cries from Boyi hugging his father tablets but now Boyi has curved himself up into a fetus, it could be that it is scientifically said that when the person feels exposed with no security, they will take up this position as self-protection.
The wind is starting to howl away, the sky is getting slightly greyish, as the sun decided to hide away behind the clouds, those angry clouds taking its' dominance and demanding attention. Suddenly, there is some light rain and Boyi who has actually fallen asleep with his hoodie covering his head, still could not wake up. Boyi has been crying and wailing till he is so tired that he fell asleep.
An elderly lady was very plainly dressed and with some white on her head so now walking slowly towards the cemetery of the Lan couple.
The old lady was walking a bit slower than others because she carries cleaning equipment and a bundle of flowers for the couple. However, when she came nearer to it, she was a bit surprised to see a figure curling himself up into a meatball. The old lady was at first a bit offended but somehow, the sight of the meatball also look pitiful and lonely. In her mind, this boy must be someone that is either no home or just lost or broken.
So, the old lady walk slowly forward and starts to shake the boy
"Hey, little boy, why are you sleeping in some dead people's home," the old lady asked
Boyi stirs in his sleep, actually, he is having his own dream
He dreamt that he is now only eight years old, the family house is huge and there are a lot of visitors because today is his eighth-year-old birthday. His parents decided to have a birthday celebration for him, the excited eight years old, wanted a bouncy castle and there were men transporting the fluffy bouncy castle and are now blowing up the castle.
Boyi was excited and he claps non-stopped. There are also other little kids and among them, the Ho family were also invited, however, that both brother and sister come with sour faces. They both gave him the present with a sneer, making Boyi a little frightened of them. However, Mrs Lan always has a good temperament and so he asked Boyi to lead his two cousins to the Bouncy castle which is now already ready for play.
Boyi jumps onto the bouncy castle and jumps freely, and he was swirling and turns around enjoying the bounce from the bouncy castle. Boyi is a simple boy and he did not expect that when he was not looking, his cousin Ho Cheng, bouncing up together with him with an outstretched pair of hands and pushes him out of the bouncy castle, and the boy screams
"Ahhhhhh........."
"Mom, dad helped me......."
However, he somehow landed on a big boy..........
"GOT YOU!" said the big boy........
Then, Boyi felt someone is now shaking him and tapping on his shoulder, however, because he fell onto someone in his dream, Boyi has a sense of loss, and thus he uses his hands to cover his head as if to prevent further damages, his forehead seems wet to Boyi, and Boyi felt a hand onto him and he quickly defended himself by smacking the hands away even when his eyes are still closed.
"Go away" Boyi mumbles and now his eyes is half-opened.
He saw an elderly woman with some wrinkles on her eyes but there is a kind and harmonious smile which makes people not too worried or frightened of her.
The elderly woman draws her face closer to the young Boyi and frowns a little
"Little boy, why are you sleeping in the cemetery"
Boyi feels a little angry and aggrieved, no matter what is the reason, this is his parent's cemetery, and no one, absolutely no one can tell him not to sleep in his deceased parent's home.
Thus, with a little angry tone, Boyi voice louder
"This belongs to my parent, I can do what I like" although Boyi has an age of twenty-two, somehow he did not mature into that age because of his useless life before rebirth.
The elderly woman looked shocked and he quickly parts the orange hair and shouted
"Boyi! Young Master" the elderly lady shouted out loud and in a surprising mode.
Boyi is already fully awaked and he was shocked when an elderly lady knows who he is. He looked closely at the elderly woman and there is a sense of familiarity that hit his head but Boyi could remember who she was.
So, Boyi lifts up his finger and point at her
"Y-You a-are who?" Boyi asks
The elderly woman is so happy that she immediately stood up and took off her hat and told Boyi
"You used to call me Zhang ma ma, I am your nanny" the elderly woman told Boyi.
Boyi squinted his eyes and some memories seems to flow into his brain waves, he remembered that he used to have a nanny till he was eleven years old. He doesn't know what happened to his nanny where one day when he suddenly comes home and Mdm Yu told him that his nanny asked for retirement and assured him that he will be well taken care of. Of course, this is not totally true, Boyi becomes independent at the age of eleven.
"Zhang Ma" Boyi screams his lung out and started crying, he seems to find someone that knows him and is probably able to relate to his birth as a child of the Lan Family.
Zhang Ma pats Boyi like a baby
"Don't cry...eh" Zhang ma herself is in tears
"Being able to see you makes Zhang Ma very happy" Zhang Ma told Boyi
"Wuuuwwwuuuu" Boyi is still crying like a baby, those suffering that had choked up his lungs seemed hard to release and now he had a warm body and a soul that are close to him.
Suddenly, Zhang Ma seems more alert and separated herself from the hug, and looks at Boyi with scanning eyes
"Are you injured?" Zhang Ma asks
Memories seem to fly back when Boyi was eleven, Zhan Ma is a retired nurse by profession, and so she is naturally concerned about the physical health of Boyi.
Zhang Ma begins to look around Boyi and feels his head, Boyi shakes his head
"I am fine" Boyi consoles the old lady who is about sixty years old.
Boyi also begins to ask Zhang Ma
"Zhang ma ma. come to see mom and dad?" Boyi asks with sadness
Zhang Ma has tears still hanging in his eyes
"I come here every week, to give Xiao Jie flowers, she loves Sunflowers the most. Your mother is like the sunflower, giving joy and light to everyone around her. Your dad is a very quiet person, she is the only one that can light up your father" Zhang Ma cries when she thinks of Mdm Lan.
Zhang Ma works in Mdm Lan family as a professional nanny, she looked after Mdm Lan since Mdmd Lan was ten years old. She has a very strong attachment to Boyi's mother. She treats Boy's mother more like her daughter. Thus, the death of Boyi's mother has a big hit on her. However, she focused her mind on Boyi but she was being kicked out of the Ho family when Boyi was eleven years old.
Boyi seems to have a surge of fire in him
"Zhang Ma, let's pray respect to mom and dad first" Boyi wanted to pay respect to his parents
"Good, Good" Mdm Zhang feels happy today as she is able to see Boyi
Together, Zhang ma hands over the flowers to Boyi, who now sobbing away while carefully and slowly arranging the Sunflower in front of the tomb, crying away while he speaks
"Mum, you are like the Sun in my life, giving me the warm, I will always love you" Boyi place a bunch of them in front of his mother.
Then, Boyi, take another bunch and put it in front of his father
"Dad, I will make you proud of me, glad that you are beside mum, so both of you can keep each other company" Boyi speaks as he arranges the bundle of flowers in front of his father.
Then, both Zhang Ma and Boyi kowtow to Mr Lan and Mdm Lan.
Zhang Ma has a lot of curiosity in her heart and she couldn't hold it anymore
"Young Master, are you being ill-treated in the Ho Family," Zhang Ma asks boldly as she is too concerned for Boyi
Boyi with his tears laced face turns to Zhang Ma and nods his head, full of anguish
"They want me dead and take over my parents' wealth" Boyi speaks straight to the point as he knew that Zhang Ma is a royal servant to his parents and maybe the only trusted one in his rebirthed life.
Zhang Ma rolls her eyes and then gave Boyi a horrified look.
"Now that you are here and safe and sound, also you know their plan. We will work together. Lao Zhang (Mdm Zhang's husband) is a quiet man but he is resourceful as he used to help your mother and father to run their business" Zhang Ma seems not afraid at all, as, for a lady of nearly sixty, she seems to be full of fighting spirit.
Boyi exclaims
"With you and Zhang Shu Shu to help me, I feel very happy"
"I also feel more confident"
"Most important of all"
As Boyi looks at his parent's gravestone and also looking at the sky, where heaven is so vast but blessings have been downpouring and reigning onto him, Boyi spread out his hand and screams aloud
"I am not alone anymore, Yayyy!!!"
