chapter one
"we regret to inform you..." i shut my laptop before i can finish reading the sentence. this is the fifth rejection letter this week, from seoul art academy. i've been wanting to attend that school since i realised my stick figure drawings were a lot better than everyone else's.
but i'm not surprised much, it's my fault for giving myself false hope. there's no time for me to be upset either.
what i do have to do is improve on my art work, tremendously. i know deep down my art isn't the best, that it could be better, but i am trying my best.
yet my best is not always enough.
right now i attend the regular seoul high school, where you're either stupidly popular or a complete loser.
there is absolutely no in between.
i fit the category of a 'loser' perfectly. because i have zero friends.
zero.
my closest friend would probably be my paintbrush, or finest drawing pencil. having zero friends does that to a person.
having zero friends also makes you a loser, of course.
that's just how it has been for a while now.
but not my whole life. i did have friends. and a lot of them, too.
but i made the mistake of stealing their juice boxes in middle school and they haven't forgiven me ever since.
unfortunately, i'm kidding.
fortunately, my parents are filthy rich.
and i somehow realised the friends i did have only befriended me because of that sole reason.
once i figured that out being the confrontational person i was, i confronted them.
which obviously didn't end very well on my part. it resulted in me being labelled as the spoilt bitchy girl that lashed out at her poor innocent friends who were kind enough to even be her friend seeing as 'she's way too stuck up'.
entering high school, absolutely nothing changed. i've learned to live with it and be my own friend. i'm still hoping for something new to swing by,
and that something new starts with seoul art academy.
