*Two days after Nat had woken up from his inncident, Kenzie takes him home.*
*Kenzie's P.O.V.*
When Nat & I arrived back home, I helped Nat get out of the car & walk him inside our house. The triplets were staying at Polly & Michael's house over the weekend so then I could spend time taking care of Nat. I was relieved that Nat was going to be okay after he got shot by Justin again. Nat & I still didn't know why they were still after our family. According to Nat, he said that he broke up with Margaret because she was really naughty & bitchy. Also, Margaret didn't care about Nat at all. She only dated him because of his "fame".
After I helped Nat walk into the living room, I went back outside to get the mail.
I sighed. "Bills, bills, bills."
"Is something wrong, Kenzie?" asked Nat.
"No, nothing's wrong," I said. "We just got a crap load of bills in the mail. Most of them are from being in & out of the E.R."
"Oh," he said.
As I looked through the pile of mail, I noticed a sealed pink envelope. I opened it up & read what was inside. "Uh, honey?" I asked, walking to his side. "You might want to look at this."
I gave Nat the envelope & he read it. "You have to go to court."
"For what, exactly?" I asked. "I haven't done anything."
"I recognize this person," he said. "Andrew Owen."
"Who's he?" I asked.
Nat sighed, then he looked at me. "Margaret's lawyer."
"Shit," I said. "Well, why do I have to go to court?"
"You have to go because Margaret shot me & I almost died," he said. "If the jury finds Margaret guilty, she will go to a federal prison, where hopefully she won't ever escape."
"What about Justin?" I asked.
"Justin hasn't been caught yet," he said.
I nodded. "When does it say that I have to go to court?" I asked.
"April fourth," he said.
"That's next week," I said. "The kids will be on spring break, & your parents are going on that cruise, right?"
"Yeah," said Nat.
"I'll need to find a lawyer," I said. "Oh. I just remembered. My friend Jared, who I've known since I was in middle school is a lawyer! I'll contact him!-"
"-Woah, woah, woah," said Nat. "Kenzie, I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not?" I asked.
"Well, you haven't seen each other in years," he said. "Do you even think that he'll remember you as that girl from middle school?"
"He might," I said. "I mean, we're friends on Facebook. But we haven't talked in years."
"That's my point," he said. "It's been years since you two have talked or seen each other. He won't remember you."
I sighed. "Well, I'm going to try to get ahold of him. If I do, & he agrees to help me out in court, I won't say I told you so."
"Alright," Nat yawned.
I covered Nat up with a blanket. "Do you want to watch something on t.v.?" I asked.
"Sure," he said. "I'll most likely fall asleep though."
"It's okay, sweetie," I said. "I don't mind."
Nat nodded. Then, I turned the t.v on, sat down by Nat's feet, & we both watched Dance Moms together.
*An hour later, Alex came downstairs to get something to eat. He noticed that Kenzie & Nat were together in the living room, so he decided to see what they were up to.*
"Hey guys,-" said Alex.
"Hey Alex," I whispered.
Alex looked down at Nat, fast asleep on the couch. "How's my big brother doing?"
"He's doing okay," I said. "He's tired."
"I can see that," he said. "Mind if I hang out in here with you two?"
"No, not at all," I said.
"Thanks," he said, then came over where I was laying down, & sat next to me. "What are you watching?"
I shook my head. "Just a bunch of random shows."
"Cool," he said.
"Yeah," I said.
"SWEET!" said Alex. "You watch Dance Moms too?"
I smiled. "Yeah! Are you kidding? It's my favorite show! Besides the Naked Brothers Band, anyway."
"Nice!" he said.
I put my finger to my lips. Then I heard Nat next to me. Still being completely passed out next to me, he began to snore.
"That was a close one," said Alex.
"Yeah, it was," I said.
"So, do you & Nat have any plans next week, since the kids are on spring break?" he asked.
"Not really," I said. "Well, I have to go to court on the fourth, to discuss Nat's inncident."
"Is the bitch going to be there?" he asked.
"Yup," I said.
"I hope she pleads guilty," said Alex. "She's been trying to tear you & Nat's family apart for ages."
"I know," I said.
"I heard that her sidekick, Justin, is somewhere in Canada," he said.
"Has he been caught yet?" I asked.
"I don't think so," he said.
I sighed. "Oh."
Alex nodded. "He'll get caught, eventually."
"I hope so," I said. "He was the one that shot Nat."
"He's a fucking asshole," he said.
"I know," I said.
Alex & I were silent for a few minutes. All we could hear was the t.v on, & Nat snoring his head off. I heard another noise. It sounded strange.
"What was that?" I asked.
"It wasn't me," said Alex.
I looked at Nat. He slowly turned on his left side. Then, within seconds, not only I could hear something, but I could smell it too!
I put my hand over my nose. "Oh god!"
"What?" asked Alex. I pointed to Nat, & he sat down where I was at. "Jesus Christ!"
"What is that?" I asked.
"NAT JUST FARTED IN HIS SLEEP!-" said Alex.
"Alex, keep it down!" I said. "You'll wake him up!"
Alex was still grossed out from what had just happened. He ran upstairs & went back into his bedroom. The living room smelled horrible. I quickly ran toward a little table where I had left some air freshener out, & sprayed the entire room. Once I was finished, Nat had woken up. His hair was messy & he looked confused.
Nat yawned, while stretching his arms. "What's going on?"
"Oh nothing," I said. "You farted in your sleep."
"I did?" he asked. "I'm sorry babe."
"It's okay Nat," I said. "I don't mind it."
Nat smiled. "Good."
"How are you feeling?" I asked.
"I'm alright," he said, then he glanced at the t.v. "Oh sweet! Dance Moms is on!"
I giggled. "I know!"
Nat patted his pillow, then he looked at me. "Come lay down with me, Kenzie!"
I smiled, shaking my head. "Nathaniel, I would love to lay down next to you right now, but it still smells where you're sitting at."
"Oh come on," said Nat. "It's not THAT bad!"
"Fine," I said. "Scootch over, babe!"
*A couple days later, Polly came over to drop off the triplets at Kenzie & Nat's house again.*
I opened the door for everyone & gave my sons hugs. "Hey guys!"
"Hi mom!" said Jason.
"Mom, I missed you!" said Nate.
"Aww!" I said. "I missed you too, buddy!"
"Where's dad?" asked Shane.
"He's in the living room," I said, then I turned to Polly. "Thanks for watching the boys, Polly."
"You're very welcome, Kenzie!" she said. "For once, the children had no meltdowns whatsoever!"
"Really?" I asked. "That's awesome!"
"I know right?" she asked. "Anyways, how has Nat been, since his inncident?"
"He's been doing okay," I said. "He hasn't done a whole lot because his stitches have been hurting him a lot."
"Oh dear," said Polly. "My poor, poor baby."
"Would you like to see him?" I asked. "I think he's awake. He just took a nap a little while ago."
"Sure," she said. "But I can't stay long. I still have some packing up to do for the cruise this week."
"Okay," I said.
*Kenzie & Polly walk into the living room.*
"Nat honey," I said. "Your mother is here to see you."
Nat looked at Polly & I. "Oh, hey mom. What's up?"
"Oh nothing much," she said. "Just dropping off my grandsons before your father & I leave tommorrow for the cruise."
"Cool," he said. "How were the boys?"
"They were great!" I said. "Polly said that there were absolutely no meltdowns."
"No way!" he said. "Are you serious? That's amazing!"
I smiled.
Alex walked downstairs into the living room. "MOMMY!" he yelled, running up to Polly, giving her a hug. "What are you doing here?"
"She came over to drop the kids off here," I said.
"How's dad doing?" asked Alex.
"He's fine," said Polly. "I probably should head back home now. I've still got some packing to do, & your father & I haven't had dinner yet."
"Oh, okay," said Alex. "Well, I hope you guys have fun."
"Yeah," said Nat. "Be safe. Tell dad I said hello."
"I will!" she said.
"Thanks again for watching the boys!" I said.
"No problem," she said.
*Alex walks Polly to her car.*
Shane walked into the living room. "Hi dad!"
"Hi Shane!" he said. "What's up, bud?"
"Nothing," he said. "Are you feeling better now?"
"I am a little bit," said Nat.
"That's good," said Shane.
"Are you happy that there's no school next week?" I asked.
"Duh?" said Shane. "It feels like I've had to wait a million years for spring break to come!"
Nat laughed. "Well, the wait is finally over!"
"I know!" he said.
I heard a loud thumping noise coming from upstairs. "Oh dear. I better go see what your brothers are doing. I'll be right back!"
"Okay," said Shane.
When I walked upstairs, I heard one of the kids crying from the inside of their bedroom. As I went in there, Jason was on the floor, bawling his eyes out.
"Jason, what's wrong?" I asked.
"I was climbing up the ladder of my bunk bed & my firetruck hit me in the head!" he cried.
"Aww, it's okay Jason," I said, giving him a kiss on his head. "I'm here."
"Jason, do you need ice?" asked Nate.
"That would help a lot," I said. "Thanks Nate."
"You're welcome, Mom," he said.
*Nate went downstairs to get ice for Jason. Then, Kenzie & Jason walked downstairs together in the living room.*
"What happened to Jason?" asked Nat.
"He was trying to get up on his bed & his toy firetruck bonked him in the head," I said.
"Mommy, my head hurts!" cried Jason.
"I know it does," I said.
Nate came into the living room with an ice pack. "Here you go, Jason."
"Jason, what do you say to Nate?" I asked.
"Thanks N-Nate," said Jason.
"Anytime bro," said Nate.
"Aww!" said Nat. "Isn't that the cutest thing?"
I smiled. "It sure is, babe."
Nate turned to Nat. "What did I do?"
"You helped your brother feel better, Nate!" said Nat.
"What's so cute about it?" he asked.
Nat & I looked at each other. "I think it's cute because your father & I usually never see you guys act so nice toward each other."
"Oh," said Nate.
"Dad, I'm tired," said Shane.
"What time is it?" asked Nat.
"It's almost eight thirty," I said.
"Time to get ready for bed?" asked Nate.
"Yup," I said.
"I think we already took care of one," said Nat, pointing to Jason, asleep in my arms.
"I don't think I can carry him upstairs," I said.
"Do you want me too?" asked Nat.
"Honey, you have an injury," I said. "I'll just get Alex to help me."
"Okay," he said.
I turned to Nate & Shane. "Why don't you two go ahead & get your pj's on, okay?"
"Okay mom," said Nate.
"Goodnight guys," said Nat.
"Goodnight dad," said Shane.
*Everyone goes to bed.*
