3 hours finally passed.
The time that was allocated to Shin and his wives to complete the papers was finally up. With that said, the principal collected each of their papers.
"Now, the papers will be looked through and marked. While that is being done, you will be sent to do the next part of the designation exams, which is power level measurement. Don't worry, it won't be too difficult." <Linda>
After explaining the rough idea of their next task, Linda handed over the papers to a teacher and guided the group to the next room.
"Are you people the ones who are taking the designation exams?" <???>
When they entered the room, they were greeted by another person who seemed to be a teacher.
"Yes, we are." <Shin>
"My name is Brandon Dio, and I'm in charge of the power level measurement exam. With that said, right this way." <Brandon>
The teacher asked them to come to the center of the room.
Over at the center, there's a machine shaped like a rectangular box with a semi-transparent glass on top.
"This here is a Power Level Identifier. Just as the name implies, it will calculate the amount of power level you possess and show it. Depending on your amount, it will determine which class you go to. Any questions before we begin?" <Brandon>
The group looked at each other, whether if anyone has any questions. Seeing that no one seems unsure, Shin answered, "None."
"Alright. Now, will the first person come forward? After that you will take turn." <Brandon>
With that said, Iris volunteered first.
"Just put your hand on top and release as much power as you can, until the numbers shows up." <Brandon>
Iris then did as she was told.
Not long, the numbers appeared on the semi-transparent glass.
"4100! A-Amazing... That's the highest I've seen in a long time..." <Brandon>
The teacher was in awe at the sight he just witnessed. Even the principal at the side had the same look on her.
"Hmph!" <Iris>
Iris had a proud look on her face.
"N-Next!" <Brandon>
Layla was next. She then did the same as Iris.
The number that popped out was,
"9000!?" <Brandon>
"What!?" <Linda>
The look on the teacher's face changed for the worst. Way different from how she reacted to Iris's numbers.
The principal couldn't keep her composure either.
Layla quietly walked back, ignoring the teacher's and principal's astonishment.
"I'll go next then." <Shana>
"P-Please, your hand." <Brandon>
Seems like the teacher was still overwhelmed from seeing the number 9000 popping out. Since he was already shocked at 4100, the numbers that Layla got was more than double of what Iris got. So it was understandable that it will shock him.
Thinking that the numbers will get even more absurd, he braced himself. But to his surprise, it wasn't what he expected.
That's because...
"1500." <Brandon>
The teacher was surprised, but it was a different kind compared to the last two.
Shana didn't care at all and just turned and walked back to the group.
Iris and Layla were the ones to question instead.
"That should be wrong." <Layla>
"Yeah! I think the machine is broken." <Iris>
They voiced out their concerns. But Shana just shrugged them off.
"Whatever. I know myself that I'm strong. I don't need a machine to judge that for me. So you two shouldn't be bothered by it." <Shana>
Hearing what Shana said, they decided to just brush it off.
"I guess it's my turn now." <Shin>
Shin stepped forward.
He then put his hand on the machine and released as much power as he could.
"1300." <Brandon>
"1300? Ah, I see now." <Shin>
"Is there something wrong with the numbers?" <Brandon>
The teacher inquired after hearing that Shin mumbled something.
"It's nothing. So now it's done, right? What now?" <Shin>
"For now, you can wait back at where you did the previous exam. Once the papers have been marked, and your power levels evaluated, we will come and announce your class placement." <Linda>
"Alright." <Shin>
Shin turned around and headed out the door. His wives also followed behind.
They then waited at the room just as they were told.
"Layla-san is overwhelmingly strong. Even I'm no match for you." <Linda>
Linda voiced her thoughts.
She herself was considered to be strong with high power level than even an S-Rank normally had. But seeing Layla's PL in person, made her feel somewhat inferior.
"Iris-san too is just as impressive. However..." <Linda>
After complementing Iris as well, Linda turned her head towards the remaining two with a questionable look.
"Shin-Sama, that machine must have been broken, if it generated your power levels to be only 1300. Because, your power level is way higher than that!" <Layla>
"That's right! Maybe Layla broke it after putting in too much power." <Iris>
Iris jokingly blamed Layla.
"Hey, it's the machine's fault for being too weak!" <Layla>
"Nope, that's not the case." <Shin>
Shin denied the both of them.
"Fufu~ Shin, you know the reason why, don't you?" <Shana>
Shana was amused.
"What is it?" <Iris>
"Well, I'll tell you all later." <Shin>
Shin said later, but in truth, he told them straight away via the insignia. Since he doesn't wanna expose anything while the principal is right in front of them
"From what I can tell, the machine can only show a certain maximum number. And I'm assuming that it is 4 digits at best. Since my power level right now is 111,300 LP. And since my last 4 digits is 1300, it corresponds to the number shown earlier. Same goes for Shana." <Shin>
Hearing Shin's reason and explanation, Layla and Iris finally understood.
"Then, it isn't fair!" <Iris>
"It's alright, I don't really care. Instead I think it might turn out for the better for me. It just might make this school life more interesting." <Shin>
Shin was already imagining what might happened if people know that his power level is low. He watched too much anime and read mangas on earth, to not know how this will go.
Seeing that Shin had that look which tells her that he is plotting something, Shana too was pleased.
While they were having their inner conversation, the principal spoke up.
"Is something the matter? If you're not satisfied with the results, we can perform it once more." <Linda>
"Nah, it's alright. Don't have to." <Shin>
Not long, teacher Brandon entered the room.
"Alright, we have finished assessing your papers and power levels. And so, we have determined which class each of you will be going to. With that said, those that are going to class 1 will be Layla and Iris. While Shin and Shana are going to class 5." <Brandon>
""Class 5!?"" <Layla & Iris>
The both of them had a very surprised looked on their face. Knowing that Shin won't be going to the same class as them made them mad, but much worse than that was the fact that he was sent to class 5. Which was the worst class.
