crushing on you
Jin had a huge crush on you ever since he first laid eyes on you. You were both working part-time at a café since a few months now and had grown pretty close to each other. While you saw Jin only as a colleague and at most as a friend, he was daydreaming about taking you on dates.
You were oblivious to the fact that Jin liked you even though he wasn't doing a good job of hiding his crush on you.
He stood in front of the café shop, patiently waiting for you to turn up so that you could prepare everything for the day. It was early in the morning and the air was crisp. Though Jin originally wasn't a morning person, he had grown to very much like mornings ever since he started working with you. You both always opened the café together at 8am. He loved how you drank a cup of hot coffee together before the busy day full on started. The peaceful atmosphere in the coffee shop in the mornings was very cozy and Jin loved nothing more than spending time with you alone.
When you finally arrived on your bicycle, Jin smiled sheepishly at you. Your cheeks were tinted with a soft blush due to the cold morning air and he couldn't help but fall more for your adorable face.
"Good morning" you greeted him with a warm smile. Jin's heart fluttered.
"Good morning" he responded, taking the keys from you to unlock the doors.
You immediately went to the staff room to change into your working clothes, whilst Jin already prepared your usual coffee order. Once your apron was on and your hair tugged away underneath a cap, you quickly mopped the floors until your coffee was ready. In the meanwhile, Jin got dressed in his working clothes too.
Soon enough the both of you were seated at the table at the window, enjoying your coffee as per usual. It was your daily routine.
Whilst you stared out the window, letting your mind go blank, Jin watched you with awestruck eyes.
He had completely zoned out, absorbed by your effortless beauty, when you turned to him. Noticing his eyes on you, you chuckled.
"Zoning out again? Haven't you gotten enough sleep? You look dazed" you commented. It's because of you, Jin thought. I look like a lovesick puppy.
"I guess, I am still tired" he lied. "Do you like your coffee?" he asked.
Nodding eagerly, you took another sip.
"It's delicious" you smiled, "I like the coffee you make me the best."
He smiled, suddenly bashful.
"Of course, I am the best barista around" he praised himself to play it cool.
"Yeah sure, whatever you say" you teased, getting up from your seat. "Let's get started. We will be probably very busy today, considering it's Friday."

Jin always watched out for you. He never let you carry heavy things. When he had time, he always did the dishes before you could get to it since he knew how clumsy you were. He always carried around band-aids because you always somehow managed to hurt yourself. Sometimes his heart broke seeing your bruised arms even though you weren't a sensitive one when it came to pain. Usually you didn't even notice the bruises until Jin asked you about them.
"Remember how you ran into the glass door on Wednesday and fell backwards? Your elbows are bruised" he commented, sighing.
"What? Really?" you said, taking a look at your elbows in a weird angle. "Whoops"
"Gosh y/n, you need to be more careful" Jin complained.
"Yah, it's nothing" you brushed it off, grinning. "Stop nagging."
He sighed again, not understanding how you could be this careless when it came to yourself.
He loved you dearly. Watching you do the most ordinary things was like seeing movie scenes unfold in front of his eyes. Every dashing smile that formed on your lips when you took orders from customers, he saw in slow motion. His eyes focused on your lips and how they curved up into a perfect smile that made his heart skip a beat. When the café was packed and quite noisy, he canceled out all the other voices whenever he heard you speak. His life felt like a movie and you were starring in it.
Sometimes when you got very busy, it was pretty chaotic behind the counter. As the both of you worked next to each other, trying to prepare the drinks and treats as fast as possible, your hands would occasionally brush as you reached out for the same things at the same time. The heat would shoot into Jin's face whenever that happened and he would have a hard time to focus on his orders.
It was another busy day and you were both in a hurry to keep up with the orders. As you were moving around a lot, the strings of your apron at your lower back started to get loose. You didn't even notice, as you were focused on the drinks that you were preparing. Soon enough your apron was hanging around your neck only, the strings hanging at your side. Jin chuckled when he saw it.
As you were grinding coffee beans, he came behind you. Circling your waist, he grabbed the strings and knotted them tightly behind you again. Your cheeks flushed red at his sudden action. Flustered, you turned to him with a surprised look in your eyes.
"Thanks" you mumbled, taken aback.
"No worries" he said, smiling before he returned to his work.
Your heart was hammering in your chest and you were confused about your reaction. Little did you know that this was the beginning of a long journey. Every passing day you started to notice more and more gestures of affection from Jin. You became more and more aware of his behavior towards you, trying to interpret it. He left you puzzled most of the time. Furthermore, you also began to realize that you reacted very interestingly to him. You found yourself wondering how he could make you feel so nervous at times.
Once he wiped your mouth with a napkin when you took a bite of a cupcake. Another time he tied up your hair when he saw your ponytail getting loose.
And then there was this dreamy look in his eyes sometimes when he looked at you. You couldn't quite decipher the meaning of it, but it sure made your heart flutter.
After a certain point you noticed yourself seeking for innocent physical
contact. You liked being around him. One time you brushed his hair out of his face without quite being aware of your actions. You were mortified when your brain registered what you just did. Another time you leaned your head against his back while he was doing the dishes to get a moment of rest.
Jin was growing fonder and fonder of you, feeling happy that you were being more comfortable around him. He couldn't yet gather up the courage to ask you out but he was patiently waiting until he felt ready, giving it some time.
It was late in the evening when he turned the 'open' sign, replacing it with 'closed'. It had been an especially tiring day and you were exhausted. Jin couldn't help but smile, seeing you yawn in tiny as you tried to sleepily undo the knot of your apron. Moving behind you, Jin opened the knot for you.
"Thank you" you mumbled, not surprised by the contact anymore.
"How will you ride your bicycle home, tired like this, hmm?" he asked.
"I am not tired, I can ride my bike" you said, eyes almost falling shut.
Jin chuckled, ruffling your hair.
"Let me drive you home this once" he said, helping you put on your jacket.
"No, it's okay" you reassured.
"y/n please" he said, "you are too tired, to ride your bike."
"Okay, you win" you gave in, "But just this once."
On your way to your house, you fell asleep like Jin had expected. When you arrived at your place, he hesitated a moment to wake you. You slept so peacefully and he couldn't bring himself to disturb your sweet slumber. Gently brushing the hair out of your face, he watched you for a while.
"Man" he sighed to himself, "I really do love you a lot, hmm?"
Your lips were slightly parted and when suddenly a tiny snore escaped your lips, Jin chuckled.
"Argh" he said frustratedly, "Even her snores are cute. What is wrong with me?"
Watching you a little more, he gently shook you. Your eyes fluttered open. Confused and disoriented for a moment, you looked at him with your big eyes. Jin melted away.
"Ah, you are going to be the death of me" he mumbled more to himself than to you.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" you said, eyes widening. "I am so annoying omg. How the hell did I fall asleep? I am so sorry, I am leaving immediately I won't ever be a bother again. I am so sorry. Goodnight" you rambled as you clumsily got off the car, hurrying to your apartment complex. Jin watched you without uttering a word, amused with your innocent self.
"I seriously love her so much" he said, watching you wave at him before disappearing behind the door. "So, so much."
