Benny's pov
"Beth" I said sternly " what did you do?"
"What are you talking about Benny?"
"You know what I'm talking about"
"I didn't do anything!" She protested.
"Don't lie to me"
"Fine" she threw her hands In the air " I did do something"
"What did you do?"
"I sent her a letter, from you"
"What did you say in the letter?"
She looked away from me.
"Beth!" I warned.
"I told her that she wasn't invited to the wedding and that you didn't want to see her again"
I rubbed my hand on my temples, frustrated.
"Why would you do that?" I asked.
"Because I know"
"Know what?"
"What you did" she said "when I was gone"
I felt like throwing up.
"Look I... I don't know..." I stuttered.
"I wanted her out of the way, so it wouldn't happen again"
"She's your sister Beth" I frowned.
"I know and you slept with her!"
"Because I fucking love her!"
Her expression faded from angry to melancholy.
"What?" She choaked.
"I'm sorry but I've come to realise that you are not who I thought you were" i said " It's not that you're a bad person or that I don't like you but we're just not compatible Beth. We are to different. It doesn't work. It may seem like it does to you because you're happy. But I'm not. I don't feel anything with I'm with you anymore.
"But with her. It's different. I feel so alive and so loved when I'm around her. She makes me a better person. And she just so happens to be your sister. And that isn't your fault Beth. But it isn't mine either. The heart wants what it wants. I want her. I love her, not you."
Tears fell from her eyes and slid down her ivory cheeks.
"Beth?"
She looked up to me with sadness in her eyes. Quickly swiping away the tears and sucking in a shaky breath.
"It's ok" she said " I knew for a while. The way you looked at her, I wished you looked that way at me. But if you love her then go to her"
I felt my own eyes tearing up, I walked foward and took her Into a hug.
"I hope we can still be friends" I whispered.
"Don't worry, there are other fish in he sea for me" she smiled.
I let go of her and looked Into her eyes for a moment.
"Go Benny" she said "before it's to late"
Y/n pov
I sat in the grey chair with a crossword book in one hand, and a pencil in the other. My tongue stuck out slightly as I concentrated, racking my brain for words.
"Towel" said James.
"Towel?"
I scribbled the letters in the boxes forming the word.
"It actually fits" I giggled.
The doorbell rang and I felt Lucy walk past me to answer it. Continuing to write more words in my crossword, I took a quick sip of my tea.
"Y/n!" I heard Lucy call " I think you should answer this"
I put my book down on the little coffie table and rose from my chair. I half walked, half ran through the house to the front door.
Standing there, was Benny.
He walked into the house and shut the door behind him.
"Hey" he said.
"What are you doing here?"
He sighed and inhaled heavily.
"I'm sorry, I want another chance" he said.
"What about Beth?"
"She knows everything"
I gulped " everything?"
"Yeah" he said.
He took something from his Jean pocket and placed it on the kitchen bench.
It was the engagement ring. The one he gave to Beth.
"I want you" he said " I love you"
He took a couple of steps foward and i backed up until my back hit the wall.
"What about... the...the letter?"
"That was Beth's attempt in pushing you away" he said " I never wrote it"
I felt tears slipping down my face as he got closer.
He placed his cool hand on my cheek and wiped away my tear.
"It's ok" he said.
He leaned forward and softly kissed my lips, I kissed back hugging my arms around his neck.
1 month later
I placed my suitcase on the floor and took in the surroundings of his little apartment.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
"Yeah" I said " I hate this apartment but I wouldn't give it up for the world"
"I mean at least this time you won't be sleeping on a crappy airbed" he chuckled, holding me in his arms.
"Oh, so where will I be sleeping?" I teased.
"Would you like to see?" He said close to my ear.
I nodded and in an instant he picked me up, kissing me passionately.
