All A Joke (Eren X Reader) {Modern AU}

Y/N POV

Its a Wednesday morning and I'm running late for school. My alarm didn't go off this morning. So now I'm physically running to school.

I made it to school grounds with only 3 minutes to spare. But those 3 minutes were of me running for my class that was on the 3rd floor.

I entered my class right before the bell rang and god was I tired and sweating a little. So I took my seat which was close to the back. I was In English and our teacher was just having us work on our essays that were due on Friday.

I am terrible at writing but I always try and do my best. I'm at at least a C average for my writing abilities. Armin always tries to help me out when he can when it comes to our essays. He's in this class, although its along with some of his other friends, Eren, Mikasa, Sasha and I believe his name is Reiner.

Armin had tried to invite me over to work on an assignment with them at one point but it only resulted in Eren and Mikasa picking on me and Reiner laughing hysterically at it. Both Armin and Sasha apologized about it, Sasha said they're usually not like that but that Reiner is. That he's constantly laughing at dumb jokes. So, since then I have not tried to work on any assignments with that group. Reiner eventually apologized saying that it was all in good nature. That I had to admit the things that Eren and Mikasa were saying were pretty funny. I just said sure and was on my way.

Things for the rest of the day were calm. Until lunch time came. I was sitting with Jean and Marco. They both had noticed that I sit by myself at lunch usually cause I'm trying to get my math homework done. Today I didn't have homework and we were all talking nicely until Eren came up.

"What is this? Marco, Horse face, I thought you had more dignity than to be seen with this. I guess not." Jean started to get mad from that but Marco told him not to egg him on. And all Eren did was laugh at that. Then he whispered to me "Not even your only friends will stick up for you. Maybe that's for the best." Then he got up and left.

Jean just stared him down and apologized. I was getting used to it at this point So I didn't blame Jean for not stepping in. Especially since Marco was there to calm him down. So it was either he calms down or they both get into a fight and possibly get suspended.

Of course I got used to the banter, but it still gets to me sometimes. What if Jean and Marco just sit with me out of pity. They probably do. And Armin what if he just sticks around me because he seems me as their friends easy target.

Its all unsettling to think about.

"What are you thinking about kid?" Jean asks me. I see th at Marco isn't around anymore.

"Oh nothing important. Just if I have any homework. Where did Marco go?"

"He went to the toilet. Somethings on your mind. I know it. But hey if you don't want to say then you don't need to. Just know I'll listen. And if you want to beat me up I'll allow that as well." He starts laughing. And I giggle a little.

"Everything is fine really. There's no need to worry about me. Honestly. I appreciate you being concerned though." With that Marco came back and we all made small talk between each other. Then the bell rang and we parted ways.

The remainder of the school day was surprisingly calm. There were no comments made by Eren or Mikasa other than the one during lunch.

I guess today was actually an ok day. I haven't had and ok day in a while. Regardless, when I got home things felt weird. It felt heavy. My dad was home for once.

He's usually at work around this time. I approach him in the kitchen. He's sitting at the dinning room table.

"Hey dad, I'm home from school. What are you doing here?"

"In Y/N, you're home. I just got sent home early today. There was an incident at work so they pretty much sent every one home. What are you going to want for dinner? I can cook something or we can order take out or we can go dine in somewhere. You choose." My dad seemed a little frazzled but I think its just from being home at this time of day. I hardly got to spend time with my dad just cause he works So much.

"Hmmm, how about we order something from Burger King? I haven't had any thing from there in a really long time."

"Sounds great, we can go get food in a little while then. You go settle in. Maybe do a little homework and I'll call you down when its around dinner time."

"Awesome! Sounds great! Thanks dad!" I was very excited to spend time with my dad since we never really spend any father daughter rime together.

Then it dawned on me. Where was my mom? She is usually here at this time. Unless she's at her yoga class. Which wouldn't be possible because that only happens Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is Wednesday.

Weird. Oh well. I'm happy to spend time with my dad nonetheless.

Nothing could to wrong, right?
