"Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there."

Lesley stood on a balcony in one of Kallias, High Lord of Winter, houses peering at the glowing city. She watches as the young fae slides on the ice lining the streets and laughs as they try to keep standing.

She shivered, pulling her wool jacket close. "When are you leaving," Viviane, her older sister, and Kallias mate leaned against the door frame. "Soon, I feel whatever is pulling at me all the time Viv, I have to know what or who is calling me," she sighed, turning over her shoulder to give her older sister an encouraging smile.

"Please be careful," she pulled me in for a tight hug burying her head into my jacket-covered shoulder.

Even though Viviane is older than me I've always stood taller, our father would always say that the cauldron made me the warrior and Viv the politician. She could smile and have anyone wrapped around her little finger, I would get mad and end up breaking the old man's nose.

"I will, I promise" I smiled pulling her closer. "Leaving so soon little sister?" I smiled sadly, and Viviane laughed to herself moving to her mate's sides.

"I have to," I said, turning back to the laughing children.

"You will always have a home in the Winter Court, little sis," He looked down at his wife moving a strand of white hair out her eyes.

"I better," I laughed.

"Always colorful isn't she, finally have a break once she's gone," My sister chuckled while taking my hand leading me back to my room.

Over the next few days, the weird tug in my gut was driving me mad. It's  been happening more often, my questions ringing in my head. I stood with Viviane with a small bag in hand.

"Are you sure you have everything? Clothes for the Summer Court?" She asked for the fifth time that morning.

"I know," I laughed, which dyed when I saw my sister's silver-lined eyes. "Ohh Viv," I choked on my voice.

"You will not die, you promise me, you will visit and annoy my husband," She pulled me tight. "Why would I die, no one can kill the great Lesley," I gloated which caused her to laugh and pull away.

"Where are you going first?" She asked. "North, maybe visit Mor in the Night Court," I smiled tying my white hair up in a tight braid.

"Please tell her I say hello," She smiled thinking about our friend. I made eye contact with Viviane, out of similar ice blue eyes meeting. "Love you, sis,"

"I love you too," She smiled sadly before I started down the road north.

Once I was a few yards away I turned around with a smirk on my face "Wear protection!" I shouted back at her. She snorted and made a vulgar gesture before turning back into the house.

Over the next few days, I traveled through deep snow and ice, using my ability to make a walkway. I finally came to the bottom of a mountain range that would usually bring fear to most fae in Prythian. Under the Mountain. I made sure to check to see all of my knives were in place, better safe than sorry.

After a few miles, the weather started warming and I ended up shedding the Winter Court fashion. I gut turned thinking about the Autumn Court High Lord and his sons, she didn't have the best past with them. Once I made it to the top of the mountain she decided it would be a good spot to set up camp. If I turned north I could see the glowing colors of fall eating the trees, when I turned south I could see the comfort of chilling ice that has become a part of me. I fell asleep to the feeling of comfort as I sent a tug down the bond of some sort and smiled as I got one in response.
