Standing there, disoriented and hurt, I tried to think despite my mind being filled with questions and doubts. Lex had spent his evening with Evora, drinking wine and doing God knows what. He wouldn't touch me, kept me away for some reason, but he would spend the evening with her like this.

She was right here, looking stunning and proper, and I was hammered, barely able to stand without oscillating. Lex seemed just as lost as I was, unsure what to say or do.

She was the first one to react, the clicking of her heels resuming as she came toward me. "You must be Andrea," she said, extending her hand. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you."

I glared at her hand but didn't touch it, despising the sweetness of her tone. The fucking nerves on this bitch.

"And you must be Evora. If I'm being perfectly honest, I've heard very little about you, and I can't say it's a pleasure." Shit, I couldn't help the pettiness. My answer unsettled her, surprise flashing in her green eyes. Lex seemed to disapprove, his dark glance quite eloquent.

Understanding I wouldn't shake her hand, she awkwardly pulled it away. "I think I should go. I'm sorry I lingered for so long," she told Lex with a charming smile. That fucking hoe. "Time flew in a blink."

"Oh, by all means, stay. I hope you two have a wonderful life together," I declared, my eyes throwing daggers at the both of them.

As I spun around, ready to leave the fucking apartment and those fucking assholes, Lex grabbed my arm and prevented it. "Andrea, please."

"I really should leave you two to handle this. I hope we'll meet again in better circumstances," she told me with a semblance of a smile.

"I actually hope we never meet again. And yes, you should definitely go. The door's here," I approved with a falsely sweet smile, pointing at the half-open door next to us. Lex was mine. She had no reason for being here.

"Andrea..." he warned through clenched teeth.

"What? I was agreeing with her. Isn't it the polite thing to do?"

Now that she was right in front of me, looking all confused and sheepish, I couldn't help but scrutinize her face, her perfect long eyelashes, her perfectly arched eyebrows, the thin bridge of her perfect nose, the plumpness of her perfect lips... She was truly a gorgeous woman, with a skin so perfect it looked photoshopped, perfect dark hair with perfect waves that flowed down her perfect shoulders, and a blue dress that fit her perfect silhouette to perfection.

I knew she was stunning, but now that I was seeing her for real, I was realizing just how stunning exactly.

And Lex had been with her for four years. He'd had access to her incredible body for years, had done things to it I didn't want to imagine. All those things he'd done to me, he'd done to her too. Before and so many more times.
