Part Five

*Amir*

A strong pine and wood smell forced my eyes opened. The bed that I lay on was wide and comfortable. But it was empty next to me.

Where was Luna? Whose cabin was I in?

The unfamiliar room had brown wood and small windows. It was small but neat. Only a tiny desk sat near a sliding door, and a flat-screen television was holstered onto the wall in front of me.

I closed my eyes and tried to listen to any sounds to see if I heard anyone I knew. I wasn't sure whose home I was in, but I was in somebody's house that didn't feel familiar to me.

Then, my soul connected me into another room, and I saw her lying on a bed, hooked up to a machine.

Luna.

My wife.

Her long dark hair was scattered across her shoulders as her eyes were closed shut. She wore a white hospital gown that resembled the ones they had at St. Matthew's, but there was something different about this one. It had the flag of Sweden on the sleeve.

Luna's skin looked pale, and her face was smaller. I stepped over to the chart beside her bed and my mouth dropped, surveying the information posted on it.

Patient: L. Khan

Date of Admission: 2019-7-28
Date of Birth: 1995-7-7
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California, US

My stomach twisted as I read she was in Stockholm. Oh God, not this institute. I did a study program here one time, and they were wicked. This hospital is also one of the five in the world that collects Tethered Souls, portraying a psychiatric hospital. How did she end up here? And do they have the rest of our group?

Sarah?

As I browsed her form for a moment, I heard chatter coming close to the door. Then, as I glanced over at the closet, I scurried inside and gradually closed the door as my nerves locked in my system. Chase. His sound was now in the room.

"You can't keep doing this, Mr. Marquette," Dr. Kim-someone else I loathed-said trasping behind him. "Luna's mind and mental health are fragile. I'm afraid you'll do more damage to her if you keep this up."

"You know what? I don't care what you think, Dr. Kim. I hired you to get you out of China. So you work for me," Chase said, staring him down.
