Luna loved butterflies. They were lively creatures. And running in heels was worth their sight.

With wings that were shiny and colorful, they were noticeable immediately. A diurnal herbivore by nature, butterflies hover over groups of flowers to suck the luscious ambrosia through their snout, unintentionally collecting pollen on their torso.

Luna had once helped Sarah with a project about pollination, and she had found herself reading about butterflies. She could recall every single fact about them.

She remembered a fascinating documentary about butterflies, which said they embodied a symbol of positivity, promise, and a good omen, silently seen as a message from a guardian angel.

When Luna noticed a butterfly landing on a flower, she found it captivating, mesmerized by its vaporous wings flapping and using its feet to taste. To her, their large eyes and enormous Proboscis made them appear like unfriendly aliens.

When she'd observe two butterflies flying close to one another, her heart would flutter. Various cultures considered them to be a perfect emblem of love, while others considered them as a symbol of a confident young woman or marital bliss.

She thought of butterflies flying together as tethered, two beings brought as one, intervened by destiny. One butterfly would be the guardian, built to protect it from any foe, the soulmate of the angel and bodyguard in their divine realm. They were like two spirits, forever connected.

Strolling through the forest behind her house was her way of dancing, her spirit choosing to fly and weave itself into the natural world, giving her tranquility to overcome struggles she faced daily. As she breathed in deeply, it revitalized the fresh surge of oxygen for her, helping her soul find peace.

"Mommy!"

Sighing, she turned back as Sarah came dashing forward, wrapping her arms around her mother.

"I couldn't find you," Sarah said, running her nose against Luna's.

"I didn't mean to go too far from you or daddy. I saw these magnificent creatures flying by the tree over there."

Luna pointed toward the flower bush the butterflies settled on, gazing at their iridescent beauty under the golden rays of sunlight. "Aren't they pretty?"

"There's two of them."

"There are. Do you want to know what makes them special when they fly together?"

"What, Mommy?"

"When two butterflies are together, they are thought to be a symbol of love. I see them as tethered ones," Luna whispered, crouching down next to her little girl.

"The butterflies are soulmates, right?" Sarah asked, grinning.

"More like companions. They were destined to be connected."

"Can we have a pair of butterflies as pets, Mommy? I'll take care of them and everything."

Luna chuckled and held onto her, enjoying how benevolent she was. She'd always had a good heart, and was open and generous.

"Sarah, we can't have insects as pets. We wouldn't know how to take care of them."

Sarah looked down, scowling, and then Luna lifted her chin with her hand, gazing softly into her eyes. "I know you are eager to have another pet, but I'll look into adopting an animal soon."

"Okay, but I'd really like another dog. Dogs are on the top of my list!"
