He tilts his head and asks, "Really?"

I slowly nod.

"You said you can cook."

"I can," he simply says. "Look," he raises the plate. "You put the food there," he points to the pan. "And turn on that," and points to the stove.

I look at the stove. My eyes widen after seeing that the pan is literally smoking.

"Oh, my–" I rush and turn it off.

He scratches the back of his head and smiles.

"Well... I prefer my meat raw."

Sigh.

"Let me finish what you're doing," I say.

I fry some bacon and eggs for breakfast. Now, the three of us eat quietly.

"My brothers will go home tonight," Clarkson says.

"Clark, you think a bat can do a hypnosis?" I ask.

"Bat?" he frowns.

"Yes," I nod, widening my eyes. I create a peace sign and put it in front of my mouth. I curl my fingers to imitate fangs.

"Oooh. Bat," he says while nodding and imitating my fingers.

He looks up at the ceiling and thinks.

"Yes," he simply nods. "I've heard they can."

Aunt Liz stops chewing and looks at us. "Really? Bats can do that?" she asks seriously.

"She's hypnotized...I guess," I say.

"Who?" Aunt Liz asks.

"You," I say and roll my eyes.

She laughs hard. "Who would've hypnotized me?"

I look at Clarkson. Both of us shakes our head and continue eating. Aunt Liz chuckles at us.

"Georgie." I hear Shane speaks. "Where on earth are you?"

"I'm not feeling well."

It's 1:03 in the afternoon when Shane calls. I turn down the volume of the TV. I sit beside Clarkson. We are both eating. Aunt Liz is sleeping in the bedroom.

"Girl, I'm waiting for you here. You should have called me."
