Karaoke night. Lin both loved and hated it. Karaoke was cool, right? It was supposed to be an enjoyable thing you could do with your friends and family. The thing was, the bar he worked in didn't really have any bright people. He means that in the worst way possible. Anybody who has ever stepped on the stage either sucked, or did it as a dare. He worked, as expected for any employee, and that was already unbearable. Add horrible singing to that? Lin felt as if he were soon to die. It would be much better than having to hear the sound you call singing.

He was in the middle of cleaning a few glasses, when another person graced the stage. At least this time, it was a cute white boy. Perhaps his ears wouldn't have the pleasure, but his eyes certainly would. They set up the equipment, and Lin mentally prepared for the pain that he would feel. Then, he didn't.

Lin had only one thought racing through his mind. This guy's voice was... angelic. Amazing. Beautiful. He recognized the song. It suited his voice. He wanted to do a duet. That would be nice, joyful. He wanted to hear this guy's voice, 24/7. Lin couldn't help but stare.

He slowly placed the glasses down, and stared away. The thing was, he didn't expect the white boy to stare back. Even more, he didn't expect the cute white boy to wink at him. That's when Lin decided to stop the staring contest, and formally decided to die. He hid his face in his hands, his cheeks heated. He bit down on his nails, trying to calm the embarrassment he felt. He could hear the gentle music in the background, the stranger's voice filling his senses. It made his heart all soft, and warm... he fucking hated it. He gently smacked himself, and faced him once again. The song was slowly being brought to an end, and a few people in the crowd were fawning over him. It made Lin... angry? Jealous? Angry felt too aggressive, and unnecessary. Jealous felt like a misused word. Why be jealous? Maybe, he simply didn't like the fact that Jonathan was being objectified. He may have been over exaggerating in that particular moment, but you can't blame him. Anything to make a guy feel better.

Lost in his own useless thoughts, Lin didn't realize that his new found love was approaching them.

"Hi." Small, curt, and adorable.

"Uh- I- Hey." Awkward, jittery, and not so adorable.

"I'm Jonathan or Jon."

"Lin."

Jon gave him a small smile, "Buy me a drink?"

Lin laughed in response, "On the house."

"Perfect. So. Couldn't help but notice you staring earlier."

Lin shrugged, trying to play it off, "Just admiring."

"Well, next time you should sing with me."

He made a disgusted face, "I'd rather do anything else. How about I take you out for ice cream? Wednesday, 7:30 PM- sharp."

Jonathan laughed, "Well, it's a date. Here's my number." He suddenly took out a pen from nowhere, and wrote it on Lin's hand. He winked, one last time, and walked off.

It was now Lin's turn to fawn.
