Darko

"See you tomorrow," I said after waving my hand to Condor. Nasa tapat lang siya ng suite ko.

It's four o'clock in the afternoon and I am already looking for a nice dress for later when I meet with Angel.

I learned that he'll be done at school by five so we will meet in a fine restaurant to have a dinner. I am not yet ready to see his brother. I hope I won't see him again. I know that is not a good thing to say but, I found out earlier that I am still affected.

I picked the white casual dress. It has a tie on its waist and a long enough down to my knees. It is a sleeveless, just perfect for the hot weather. Although it is at night, I don't think it will be cold.

It's already June and it's still hot, it's Philippines. I used my white flats and a white sling bag. Okay, I look like my age, I look like a college student and about to go on a date. I am twenty so I guess this is normal, I should really be on college at this age. Whatever now.

I tied my hair in half pony and I am already done. I called an uber and went straight to our meeting place.

I don't have Angel's phone number and I don't even know if he already have a cellphone.

"Any reservations po?" The woman asked after I went inside.

I bit my lip, I didn't know that we will meet in this kind of place, the ambiance is too formal for my clothes.

"Angel Cañete," I said with uncertainty.

I composed myself so I would not panic. This is a normal thing to happen, I will be fine.

May pumasok sa likod ko at napangiti ako nang makitang si Angel iyon. I went near him to give him a kiss on his cheek but he hugged me instead.

"This way po, Ma'am and Sir."

Naupo na ako ng ipaghila niya ako ng upuan at nakapagorder na. Wala siyang imik. He is so tall now. For three years? I don't think my height increased even a bit.

"How are you?" I asked with a smile on my face. This is the same little boy back then.

"I still can't believe that you are this tall now,"

"Na-miss kita," Nanlaki ang mga mata ko dahil pati boses niya ay nagiba na rin.

"I missed you too. You were just a little boy back then,"

The dinner is served and we already ate. We talked while eating and he asked a lot on how am I doing and what am I doing there in UP.

It's nice that he didn't asked about his brother. Well, I bet he already knew. Tutal ay narito na rin siya sa Manila. I am happy for the both of them.

"You are still 20, right?"

Tumango ako at ngumisi siya, a memory of his brother pictured in my mind.

"I am already 14! Should we get married?"

Natawa ako sa sinabi niya at napailing. I remember him asking me to marry him someday.

"I asked you, right? I told you, you should marry me instead of my brother." Seryoso niyang sambit.

I smiled more, "I am not gonna marry your brother, Angel, we already broke up," I said with a sad smile.

"I know! He doesn't deserve you, Heaven. We should get married asap!" Natawa na ako sa sinabi niya.

He cleared his throat and the music changed, other couples are standing and dancing. The place is just small but it is classic.
