I walked into the ballroom where hundreds of people where waiting for me. I was glad that people cared enough to show up, but I guess being a princess has its perks. I take my time walking down the spiral stairs, I like the attention. Plus, my dress was too long I didn't want to fall and publicly embarrass myself in front of all these people.

When I finally got to the last stair, my fathers advisor announced me. "Your future queen of Vethuven, Adelaide Villeret!"

Everyone burst into applause, for what I don't know. It was just my birthday. But like I said, I like the attention. I walked towards my mother and father and made sure that everyone saw that we got along. I sat down in my seat next to my father and greeted the guests. Finally, when I thought it was over, my father stood up and told me there was someone he would like me to meet.

"Shit. Please don't be William Geier, please don't be William Geier."

"Adelaide, Meet William Geier of Peluigon."

"Fuck."
