"Really, dad? Carbonara for our dinner?"

"Why? This is your favorite right? " Dominic asked his son.

I was sitting at the dining table while eating apples. I have also set the table. We're just waiting for him to get done.

"Yeah, carbonara is my favorite too. But I want rice! " I heard Eric say.

I got up from my seat and approached the two of them.

"What's the commotion here?" I asked the two. Dominic just laughed.

"Ma, gusto ko ng kanin po."

"Alright, we'll cook rice after your dad finished his specialty." Sabi ko.

"What's our ulam?" Eric asked me.

I opened the refrigerator and looked for something to cook. Eric is not fond of vegetables.

"Chicken! I want fried chicken!"

"Again? I heard Dominic laugh again so I looked at him.

He turn-off the stove and transferred his carbonara on a white plate then he placed it on top of the table.

"Give me the chicken. I'll fry it."

"Are you sure? Ako na lang." I said and took the chicken out of the freezer.

"No, ako na. Ikaw na lang ang magsaing." He said to me. I nodded and started washing the rice and put it in the rice cooker.

Eric disappeared next to me and I saw carbonara being placed on his plate.

I smiled and just mind his own business. I leaned over Dominic and watched him frying.

"Eric really loves fried chicken."

"Yeah." He answered. I peeked at him. I have long noticed that when he is doing something, you can not talk to him properly. He is always very focused on what you ask him to do.

"Hindi ko alam kung kanino siya nagmana. I don't like fried chicken that much. You too, right? " I tried to get his attention.

"You're right. But I do believe that kids really love fried chicken." I nodded.

"Oh, you have a point."

"But I have my favorite too," I turned to him.

"I know that already," I answered without looking at him.
