[Completed] Amira is a human who finds herself thrust into a world she doesn't know. Once she wakes up in the strange town of Woling, she has to fight to regain the memories of the evils she committed in order to keep her past from destroying everyt...
"It's just a theory, and it's not really my place," Leaflet brushed my off, leaning back and looking at me out of the corner of her eyes.
"Then whose place is it? Should I just call up Eon and ask him?"
"I phrased that poorly, I suppose it's more like... it doesn't matter right now," I sat silently for a moment, mulling over her words before grabbing a rock and throwing it into the fire roughly.
"Well, that's bullshit."
"You're a bit moody right now, so-"
"And who's fault is that, 'remember this' 'remember that', 'oh this is traumatic for you?' Oh and don't forget the weird little extremist cult that might be plotting a big conspiracy, that you mentioned in total passing," I mocked hysterically and Leaflet just rolled her eyes in reply.
"Moody and dramatic. Really, you should sleep," I stared down at my lap, lightly shutting my eyes with a slow calming breath. I didn't like to sleep, and my body was craving even just the idea of being near Axle. God knows if I would even be able to sleep while not sharing a roof with him.
"I don't want to remember anything else if I go to sleep," Leaflet touched my hand again, and again I wondered how living with that many twigs in her hair was comfortable. Maybe that's why she's so absolutely bonkers.
"If it helps, which I doubt, the worst of the memories are over now," there were gaps, major gaps, and tiny ones in the timeline of everything that had happened, but I bit my tongue. Now was definitely not the time. I suppose I could just trust that the worst of it all was over.
Trust.
I hated putting my trust in people.
"I miss him," Leaflet's bright green eyes narrowed a bit.
"Eon?" I immediately shook my head with a slight smile.
"Axle, I don't.. I don't know why exactly. But it's like.. it's like he's my whole world and everything just fades away when he's around, I don't- why is that? It feels like how it was with Eon but not..."
"Artificial?" I nodded, my hands wringing together in my lap.
"He's your soulmate, the one who you are meant to be bonded with. Usually, and I really mean all of the time, this conversation is best had with your other half, but considering this situation I'll give you the basics," I tilted my head to the side.
"Soulmate? Bonds.. like-?"
"Like the ones that you and Eon destroyed, severing a bond means death. And it's never done. It's treason to do so," I cringed. There was that word again, treason.
"I was going to say, like what Cara and Crion have. But, yes, that too," I paused. "It's really, like, super bad then? What we did?"
"More like sacrilegious, if you want to get technical. God's typically don't take well to their handiwork being carelessly ripped to shreds, which makes it again, surprising that you are not dead. Him too. The havoc that the two of you, it shouldn't have been possible..." Leaflet shook her head, but it suddenly snapped to the side and she shot back to her feet.
"What? What is it?" I was weary, exhaustion seeking into me from every angle, and Leaflet was staring into the darkness like something was coming.
Something bad.
"You need to run," I tensed.
"I don't follow, why?" She was crouched low, drawing a sharp foot-long mini sword from her bag, which sure as hell should not have fit. I staggered back when a sudden burst of blue light shot from her hands and into the inky blackness around us.
"He's here, and you need to run. Now."
