Afrah's POV

I reach my workplace feeling eyes on me everywhere I go. I know they told me I'd have some agents and officers guarding me, but I feel exposed. Everywhere I go, there's somebody watching me. I just want this to end already.

"You're back, finally!" I hear a voice that causes me to jump off my seat due to the fright and I hit with my head on the car's rooftop.

"What is wrong with you?! Can't you introduce yourself? Or even better, call me before you come?" I tell Nicole with my hand on the top of my head, massaging it slowly.

"It's nice to see you too," She answers sarcastically while stepping back to allow me space to leave my car. "I figured it was your lunchtime, so I came to eat with you so you wouldn't feel lonely." She teases.

"As if," I sneer, "Shouldn't you be at work now?"

"Nop. Junaid gave everybody a day off thanks to you." She gives me a big smile.

"If you're here to guard me as well, then you can go. I've already got enough eyes on me." I say and she smiles looking to her right to see Samuel in a black car with the windows slightly open. "I forgot to ask, by the way, how are things going between you and Samuel?" I give a teasing smile.

"I don't know what you're talking about." She rubs her smile away and continues to walk, "By the way, you know that chick, Junaid's receptionist?" She changes the subject.

"Who? Veronica? What did that woman do now?" I ask already irritated and she laughs.

"Not her. Assad forbade me from speaking about her to you?"

"Did he?"

"He literally gave me a one hour lecture." She smiles amused.

"Then who are you talking about?"

"The woman that was kidnapped with you. She's got some type of Spanish name,"

"You mean, Martina?"

"Yes. Does she have a twin sister or something?"

"Not that I've heard of. Why?"

"Well, today, someone that really resembled her came to the company. It couldn't have been her because I heard she left the country for some time. I just know that she came and started shooting a drama movie with Marcus."

"Wait! You saw her?!" I look at her in shock. I haven't heard of Martina for almost a month now. When she converted, she left to go visit her parents in Spain and we haven't spoken ever since.

"At least it looked like her. Except this one was wearing a headscarf and she was dressed up almost like you." Nicole says and I laugh at her confusion.

"That was Martina, she converted. She left a few days after she converted, so not many people know about it. Anyways, what do you mean she started shooting a drama movie with Marcus?"

"They acted as if they hadn't seen each other in years. I was about to get my camera ready and record a whole movie." She says making me laugh.

"You're so extra. Marcus didn't know she converted, that's probably why he seemed surprised." I say as I think of texting her later, so we can meet if she hasn't already got plans with Marcus.

"Is it here?" She points at the restaurant in front of us when we arrived.

"Yep, I heard it's a new one. The food is so tasty."

"Then let's go try this new tasty food." She smiles and we get in.

Once we have our orders on the table, Nicole does not lose time and begins to stuff her face in, joyfully. That's how she always looked, content and satisfied. But why do I feel like she's become the person she is for some really strong reason? Pain and regret are written all over her face.
