Afrah's POV

"I'll get going now. Someone awaits me." Nicole smirks, grabbing her bag.

"What about Samuel? Does he know?"

"He's coming with me."

"Wait! Is he your date?" I look at her stunned.

"Don't get too freaky in there," She tells me, pointing at Junaid's office.

"You and Samuel aren't really step-siblings?" I ask, ignoring what she previously said.

"We just said that so nobody would question the reason why we're always together. We couldn't tell we were NCA, right?"

"How many more things have you guys been hiding from me?" I shake my head in disbelief.

"Um, I lost the count." She waves with a playful smile as she distances herself.

It's home time now. I would go with Samuel and Nicole but after knowing that there might be something going on between the two, I should let them be. I could use the time to finish the work I still have to complete until Junaid is done, or I could go check out what Junaid is doing.

I grab the workplace's phone and dial his office number, "Mr Junaid, this is secretary Afrah speaking. I'd like to know how much longer would I have to wait?" I smile as I wait for his answer.

"I still have a couple more things to do," He answers and something in his tone tells me he's smiling.

"Should I go make you some company?"

"So that you can distract me? No, I'm good," He answers, playfully.

"I will be quiet, I promise. Quieter than a mouse." I try to negotiate.

"Alright, you can come." He gives in and I smile as I hang up.

I grab my mirror from my bag to check whether I still looked presentable before applying a little bit of lip balm on my lips. I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I always cared for my looks, but for my own sake, not to impress other people. Especially, not men.

I smile at my childish behaviour and get up towards the coffee machine to make him one. Arriving at his door, I clear my throat before knocking on the door.

"Here's your coffee, Mr Junaid," I place it on his desk.

"I don't remember asking for one," He says without taking his eyes off some paperwork he held in his hand.

"You will need it, believe me." I sit down in front of him. "I'm not letting you sleep tonight," I give him an innocent-looking smile when he lifts his gaze to look at me. "Because I want to talk. I need explanations." I add, knowing I should clarify my intentions.

"Explanations?"

"Yes, explanations. What else did you think I'd want to do with you in the middle of the night?" I pretend a confused expression.

"Explanations about what?" He asks, ignoring my previous question.

"For example, to the reason why you find it fun to hide things from me?"

"I don't_"

"No, it's okay. We'll leave the talk for tonight. Keep doing what you were doing." I gave a little smile before he turned to his computer.

He's such a workaholic. No wonder he got to where he is at such a young age. It's impressive how he looked extremely attractive by just sitting there and doing work. I'm jealous, although I haven't yet got a reason to be. But I hope he's just this attractive in my eyes because I like him. I don't want other women staring at him the way I do. They better not, especially not in front of me.
