Chapter 24: Date

{Michael's POV}

I spent all day racking my brain of what I can possibly do for Amy and I's first date. I mean I want it to be special but, I don't necessarily want to try too hard because I'm not completely ready to open my heart up after getting burned as much as I have in my lifetime. I even asked my mom about her first date with my dad and she laughed and said she didn't know if she had one and that their love story was not that normal. What a help.

"Dude you look sooo constipated right now" Andrew said breaking me out of my deep thoughts

"Shut up I'm just thinking" I rolled my eyes and Andrew resumed watching some Netflix series called Umbrella Academy. I swear this boy can watch Netflix all day. Then my phone started ringing and I saw it was a facetime call from Lily.

"Already miss me munchkin? Or did Wyatt piss you off again?" I laughed as I answered

"I told you I hate that nickname. I've been avoiding Wyatt all day duh" She rolled her eyes

"Wyatt's not gonna like that....." I said genuinely worried that Wyatt might blow a fuse

"Which is exactly why I'm doing it...I'm not his object to own. I've got a life too" She started ranting about Wyatt and I was in the middle of tuning her out when Andrew butt in.

"Hey Lilyyy...Andrew here. Mickey is sooo stressed about tonight. Can you like help him out cause his concentration face is just making me uncomfortable now" Andrew grabbed my phone and I smacked his head

"Ooo are you thinking about the date you have with Amy?" Lily said sounding way more excited than she should be

"Yeah I want it to be special ya know?" I responded and Lily thinks for a second

"Why don't you take her to your favorite spot in the forest?" Lily said

"How do you know about that....and what the hell am I even gonna do there?"

"I followed you once obviously...and you can have a picnic or something you dumb shit"

Honestly....that was not a bad idea at all. Wow I guess she was good for something after all. I quickly sent a text to Amy telling her to dress comfortably. Then I attempted to make some sandwiches for the picnic.

"What's that burnt smell?" My mom walks in the kitchen sniffing and then I suddenly realized I burnt the bread

"Oh shit" I ran to take off the toaster and my mom shakes her head laughing at my failure

"Mickey....I thought I banned you from cooking in the kitchen after the ramen incident" My mom said with her eyebrows raised awaiting my explanation

"I'm sorry, I was just trying to make some food for the picnic I'm taking Amy on" I said tossing that piece of burnt garbage into the trash

"Ahh thats soooo cute. I love it! See...I would attempt to cook some stuff for you but, I'm too tired so I say why don't you order some food from Ray's?" My mom said as her face lit up in excitement

Wow everyone is having good ideas today. Plus Ray's is where Amy and I did first meet so it can add some nostalgia.

"Great idea I'm gonna go order some stuff"

I just do not know how I ended up with such a beautiful mate. I think my jaw literally dropped as Amy walked down the stairs in a floral romper with her blonde hair in a ponytail and wisps of hair gently crowning her face.
