"Nah, I'm pretty sure cereal goes in before milk. "

"No! What? Are you crazy? Who the fuck even does that? You can't put in cereal before milk!"

Layla and I go about our usual meaningless banter on our way to class on Monday.
We literally disagree about everything and yet we are best friends. Still wondering how the hell that happened.

"You know what? I'm just gonna stop paying you any attention since clearly, your brain capacity is not high enough for you to understand how to fucking eat cereal."
I conclude, pulling my Airpods out of my pocket.

I plug them in my ears. Though no song is playing, it's better than listening to Layla tell me milk goes in before cereal.

Like, what the fuck?

Just as I begin revelling in the partial silence induced by the Airpods in my ears, Layla pulls the right one out.

And yes, she sticks her wet finger in my damn ear.

Great, I think to myself, wiping my ear with my palm.

Don't worry, Layla. You won't see me coming.

A smirk grows on my face as my revenge plan slowly comes to mind.

Ooh. Her shoelace is untied.

"Why are you smirking?"
She asks, brow raised in confusion and fear.

I chuckle.
"Oh it's nothing. Enjoy your day."
I gently shove her in our English class full of students.

While stepping on her shoelace of course.

Causing her to trip and fall on her face in front of the classroom.

"Kharise! You motherfucker!"
She growls, slowly rising from the ground.

I strut past her groveling form into the classroom.
"What?"
I ask, my smirk still in place as I take my seat in my usual spot.

She grumpily walks to her seat, which, unfortunately for her, is in front of mine.

I playfully poke her shoulder with a pencil.
"Don't touch me, bitch."
She grunts.

"Language, Miss Valentine."
Mrs Adams calls out.
I'm pretty sure she's at least five minutes early.

"Now-"
She continues, pulling out a sheet of paper.
"- I'm pretty sure I gave you all an assignment last week which you were to turn in today. "

Oh shit.

"Five students did not turn it in, one of which I'm very surprised that she didn't."
She says, looking pointedly at me.
