I step to the microphone slightly more confident this time around.

"Hello again everybody. Thank you for bearing with us as we took a breath. Were back now. I will be singing again for you. This song was also supposed to be sung by our friend who has fallen ill.  I will be singing it again." The crowd lets out a few cheers. "This one is called 'la vie en rose'." I say, announcing each syllable with class and grace. I roll my r perfectly, and curl my s with exuberance.

I begin the song

I finish the song and take a bow.

I press one hand to my chest and wave the other like royalty.

I look to Ava and Lauren who both motion for me to go follow where Charles had gone.

I fix my hair in the reflection of the grand piano and head towards that same door that Charles had left from just before.

I take a few turns and find myself in the garden.

I was close enough to the room with all the people and music that I could still hear Ava and Lauren playing on stage

I was close enough to the room with all the people and music that I could still hear Ava and Lauren playing on stage. Softly, but I could hear it.

There was a beautiful cool summer evening breeze, and it sent a chill down my spine.

It wasnt a bad chill though.
It didnt make me too cold.

I walk down the path a few feet.
I see a man. Standing and slightly leaning on the hedge arch. He is looking at the stars.

I look up. Theyre beautiful.

I walk closer to him.
You can hear the clicking of my heels on the path. You can sort of hear the material of my dress ruffle as I walk too.

Charles turns around.

"Your eyes sparked in the night sky." He said.

I blush.

This man just oozes class and grace.
He is perfect. Perfection.

"The press is all inside. No one is out here. I'll need to get back for the awards, but until then, it's just us." He said. A slight smile came across his face.
"It wouldnt be very gentlemanly of me if I didnt offer you a dance." He said as he bows and extends his hand for me to take for the dance.

I gracefully slip my hand into his. He stands up from the bow, and spins me towards him.

You can hear the faint music from the hall. Ava and Lauren are purposefully playing the melody of 'Sous le Ciel de Paris'.

My heart flutters out of my chest when I stop spinning and am right beside Charles.
