Nang tumunog ang elevator ay bumukas ang pinto nito, agad ako lumabas at tumungo sa opisina ni daddy. Bago pa ako makapasok sa opisina ay hinarangan ako ng mga security.

Nakita ko si daddy na nakaupo sa desk niya at tila may binabasa na dokumento. Maybe the ratings of the hospital or something. Itinaas ko ang kamay ko at napansin iyon ni daddy. I can see him through his office dahil made of glass ang office niya.

Nakita ko na parang may kinausap si daddy at napansin kong tumabi ang security na humarang sa akin at binuksan ang pinto ng opisina. Nagpasalamat ako sa kanila bago ako pumasok.

"Goodafternoon, Director Guillermo" bati ko

Tumayo ako sa hindi kalayuan ng desk niya. Inilagay ko sa magkabilang bulsa ang kamay ko at nakapirmang nakatayo sa harap ni daddy.

"Good afternoon. Is it Doctor Guillermo or Vivian Guillermo?"

"Both" sabi ko

To be fair with the other doctors, nurses and other working medical personnel here in the hospital, dad treated me as one of them. He's my dad outside the hospital but when I'm in the hospital, he's my boss.

That's why he asked me if he's going to talk to me as Doctor Guillermo, the cardio surgeon or Vivian Guillermo, his daughter.

"Well then, please have a seat" sabi ni daddy ang gestured me to the seat in front of him

Nagpasalamat ako at umupo. Inayos ko ang upo ko at huminga ng malalim.

"What brings you here to my office? Do you want something to talk about?" tanong niya

"To be fair with the other medical workers here, I hereby Doctor Vivian Guillermo, asking permission from the President of the Guillermo hospital that I would like to have a one week vacation" sabi ko

"Well Doctor Guillermo, in that case, I will only allow you to have a one week vacation if your schedules are clear. Ask your medical secretary about your schedule for the whole week to check if you have schedule inside the operating room. You are not allowed to have a one week day off when there is a life on the line. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes sir"

"Good. Hand me your schedule for the whole week or send me the hard copy of your schedule via e-mail"

"As soon as possible po, Director Guillermo"

"Okay Good. Now, for the Vivian Guillermo, why do you want to have a one week vacation, anak?"

From the tense aura to calmer state. Randam ko na gumaan ang balikat ko. I finally release the tense inside me a while ago. Kinakabahan talaga ako ng sobra kapag kinakausap ako ni daddy as Doctor Guillermo, the cardio surgeon doctor.

"I want to have a quality time with my son, dad. I've been busy for the hospital and restaurant, I don't have enough time for Traven anymore. As his mother, masakit para sa akin na halos mawalan na ako ng oras para sa anak ko habang nagtatrabaho ako"

"I understand, Vy. I've been there, nagmana ka talaga sa akin. You always find a way just to have that time you wanted for your son, just like I did. Your grandfather is a busy man back when he was still alive at wala siyang oras para sa akin. I don't want you to feel that and I don't want my grandson to feel that too. Family is priority, always remember that" sabi niya

Tumayo si daddy mula sa upuan niya at lumapit sa akin para yakapin ako. I hug him back. I'm so thankful to have a father like him. My parent's are spoiling me since I was little, I still have the little princess in me.
