Chapter 29

7 years later

I am now 16 and if you are wondering what happened I'll tell you. My dad got in a horrible wreck he is okay thank god a big semi truck hit him we almost lost him then we went away for a while after that to boston and my mom actually had another baby named after grandma Ellis

A lot of more things happened but that's another story now I'm currently in my bedroom listening to music reading a book for school "Sarah it's time for dinner" I heard someone say but my eyes stayed on my book

Someone pulled out my earbuds "hey!" I yelled

"It's time for dinner" dad said walking out of my room, I sighed we rarely have dinner as a family since my parents basically live at the hospital I walk out of my room seeing a family other than my own but a very very cute boy

"You didn't say we were having company" I said sitting down next to Zola who is now 8, bailey is 7 and Ellis is 5

"You would've if you check your phone or listened to your dad and I" my mom said

"Meredith we have company" my dad said

"Sorry I was doing homework" I smiled

"Now these are the hillsday's Marisa, Damian and their son Brian" dad introduced, I smiled at them

"Damian was actually a really good friend of mine from New York before I left for Seattle" dad explained

"I'm Sarah, I don't know if they told you that" I said, Brian looked at me as our parents were engaging in conversation he was next to me I think he just winked at me as well

As dinner ended I was back in my room watching my tv as conversation was going on in the living room, I heard a knock on my door "come in" I yelled

I looked over who opened my door and it was Brian "did you get lost getting to the bathroom?" I laughed, he also laughed

"No" he said, god that voice

"So why did you stumble into my room" I turned my tv off

"You were very quiet at dinner and I really want to get to know you" he said sitting on my bed

"Why? I mean I'm not your age I'm literally under 18" I told him truthfully

"Who said we can't be friends?" He asked

"nobody?" I questioned

"So tell me about yourself" he said

"I'm not a very open book by the way, I'm 16 and I have a photographic memory so if you show me stuff I'll literally remember every inch of it. I'm actually really terrible at math and i used to have this dog named loaf he was the sweetest pup ever but a lot of things happened and we had to give him away" I told him

"What 'things' happened" he asked

"That's a long story for another time" I told him with a giggle

"I've got time" he said

"Don't you have a girlfriend or college?" I asked

"No girlfriend but i do have college" he said

"What are you going to college for?" I asked him sitting closer

"Medicine, I'm actually going to med school next year to become a top notch surgeon" he laughed

"What about you?" He then asked

"What about me?" I questioned titling my head in confusion

"What do you want to do after highschool?" He asked scooting more closer to me

"Well I want to take after my dad and then find a cure for brain cancer" I told him honestly

"Your dreams are big thats good" he told me

"How is it good?" I asked him

"It means you are staying focused on one thing, you are going for gold a cure for something that hasn't been cured yet, it's a good thing Sarah" he told me, I smiled

"What's going on in here" I heard my little sister say

"Zola we were just talking, go play in your room" I told her, she ran out and that means she's going to tell our parents

"One second" I said towards to Brian

"Zola!" I yelled

"Mama daddy Sarah was in her room with the boy" she said, that little snark they both looked at me as I smiled

"And why was Sarah with brian" my mom looked up at me

"I was looking for the bathroom and I stumbled across her room and I was just getting to know your daughter" i heard a voice behind me say

"That's very nice of you Brian" dad said, I smiled I really wish I wasn't 16 I would jump Brian's bones literally

"I think we should go, I will see you both at the hospital tomorrow. Brian let's go" Damian said, I walked back towards my room when I got a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and stood Brian infront of me

"I wanted to give you this" he said handing me a paper

"What is it?" I asked

"My number, if you ever want to talk I'll be there. Also if you want to open your book more and let me get to know you we can hangout if it isn't awkward for you hence the age gap" he said then gave me a hug and walked out the door I looked at the paper and smiled at it
