Chapter 43

Graduation day. Today is my last day of ever stepping foot in a high school again, I'm currently doing my makeup "you look beautiful" I heard my wonderful boyfriend say, I turned around and smiled at him. He walked over to me kissing my forehead

"You ready to graduate?" He asked, I looked up at him

"More than ready" I told him

"You never told me what you were thinking about college, you never even told me who you applied for" he sat on my bed, I sighed I never told him because I hate seeing him upset

"Well, I obviously applied at two universities here and other places but I'm going to Harvard" I told him using one breath

"What" he answered

"You are going to Harvard? That's amazing Sarah" he got up and walked over to me kneeling down to my height, holding my hands

"You aren't upset?" I asked him

"Why would I be upset? It's an Ivy League school I mean we would be apart but we can see each other at breaks and holidays we will be okay" he told me rubbing my hands

"What if I told you, I was also thinking about Harvard med.." I said that's when he took his hands away

"So you wanna go away to Boston for eight years and didn't bother to tell me" he argued

"It's my life brian, I've been stuck in Seattle for my whole life. Don't you feel happy for me that I'm thinking good for my future?" I argued back

"I'm your boyfriend Sarah, of course I'm happy for you but don't you think I'm enough for you to stay" he asked

"Yes you are enough, but Harvard is something I've been dreaming of for a very long time. I've never told anyone about it because they must think I'm crazy for leaving, all of my friends are staying and I don't want to be a follower, I want to branch out" I told him, he brushed his hair through his fingers

"you wanna branch out? Then have fun doing it without me" he said walking backwards

"You are really breaking up with me because I want to follow my dreams? You are pathetic you know that" I yelled

"I want you to follow your dreams but if you don't give me a good explanation why I haven't been in any of your thoughts for the future then im out" he told me

"You were the first thought in my head when I thought of the future, but with you acting like this I don't think I want you to even be in it" I said crossing my arms

"I think you should leave" I heard my dad said behind brian

"Gladly, because I don't want want to be in a relationship that I really loved for the past 8 months that has no future" he said walking passed my dad

"Fuck you brian" I yelled

"Sarah, language your little siblings are in the next room" he said

"I don't give two shits dad, he is a pathetic asshat" i told him

"Hey hey, calm down you are about to graduate you can take your anger out tonight" he put his hands on my shoulders

"Now get finished ready you have to leave in 20 minutes" he told me

About an hour into the ceremony I look up into the stands seeing the real people who care about me. Mom, dad, Zola, bailey, Ellis, Lexie, Mark and even Cristina are up there and I think I even see Miranda and Richard up there as well

I stand up to go join the almost graduates next to the stage, the nervousness going through my system is unreal "Sarah Katherine Shepherd, daughter of Dr. Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd, she will be attending Harvard university in the fall" the principal said through the microphone

I walked up on stage hearing my family's screams throughout the stadium, I giggled a bit when I heard Ellis say "that's my sissy"

She handed me my diploma and I walked off the stage smiling, forgetting about everything that happened between Brian and I

"I now pronounce the graduates of 2020" she said, I threw my cap into the air officially no longer a high school student

SHE GRADUATED!!! also how do you feel about the official break up over Brian and Sarah? This isn't the end for them ! Also this book is ALMOST over I'm probably going to end it around the 46th chapter and start the sequel yes a sequel I know not a lot of people have read this book but I have a lot of ideas for it anyways have a great day !
