Chapter 56
 

Nanatiling nakatuon ang aking mata sa balita sa telebisyon. Matapos kong babaan ang tawag ni Aragon kanina ay dumiretso na ako sa aking silid. The news went big at halos ito na ang laman ng mga balita.

My eyes followed the man on the television as he passes through the press that asks him questions. It's Aragon surrounded by his guards and beside him are his parents and Ate Selena. They didn't bother to answer their questions at all.

Another scene flashed on the screen. This time it's the Mondejars. Aniqah is hysterically crying. She wept as she is being comforted by her mother as they enter their mansion.

"Miss Aniqah what can you say about the engagement?" The female reporter asked.

"I-I don't know. It r-really hurts. I love him so much. We will fix this." She cried.

"Don Antonio is a man that is true to his words but this time they broke their promise. Please my daughter is in pain and tired. Please excuse us." Don Roman snapped trying to calm his nerve because it's evident that his temper is boiling and off they marched inside.

I turned off the television and got my phone. Di na ako nagtaka kung bakit pati sa internet ay kalat na ang balita. Who wouldn't be surprise? Maging ako nga ay di rin makapaniwala. Di ako tanga para hindi i-assume na may kinalaman ang pag uusap namin kahapon tungkol sa pangyayaring ito. I didn't expect this to happen, or was I?

"Hala bakit naman?"

"Yehey single na si Papa Dreyfus!"

"Di naman sila bagay. Okay lang yan."

"I'm sure merong third party."

"Walang banal na lalaki ngayon. Tanggapin niyo na yan."

Basa ko sa iilang mga komento. Nag ingay ang aking messenger at samo't saring mensahe. I chose not to anwer any of those messages kaya pinatay ko nalang aking cellphone.

"Job well done Iha. I'm sure those two families will start to pull each other down." Simula ni Lolo. He called me and Kuya to talk about something at di na ako nagtaka kung tungkol ito sa engagement na nasira.

"I didn't do anything at all Lolo."

"Yes you did something dear. It's our plan all along and we suceeded. Di na ako makapaghihintay kung sino sa kanila ang unang hahalik sa lupa." He laughed as he drank the wine from his goblet. I just smiled as a response but deep inside alam kong kung ano man ang tumulak kay Aragon ay halos wala akong ginawa. Lolo savored this moment really well. My eyes shifted on Kuya beside me who's eyeing me the entire time.

"Don't be too hard on yourself." Napatingin ako kay Kuya na ngayo'y nakasunod pala sa akin habang pabalik ako sa aking kwarto.

"Stop this revenge thing if it's hurting you, if it's making you feel worse. I'm sure Lolo will understand you, he loves you. " He added.

"I don't Kuya."

"I hate that boy, he wronged you but I'm sure alam mo na pinagsisihan niya ang mga bagay na iyon. He has reasons and I hate to admit it but he paid for it and he suffered too but it's up to you." Nanatili lang akong nakatingin sa kaniya at walang kibo.
